Administrator account changed standard! How to fix it!

I've changed my only administrator for the standard user account.  Now I can't change it because I do not have a password for it! I am the only user of this computer does - what I do?

Hello

Try this - use the hidden administrator account to lower your user account (to the lowest level) APPLY/OK
then go back and reset it to the Admin APPLY/OK - this clearly allows corruption. Do this several times.
Then fix the password in your usual account.

Make another Admin account with your password and use it to fix the others if necessary. (just for
repair, don't use regular account, not a safety valve) always keep a spare ADMIN account.

DO NOT LEAVE THE ENABLED LSA OR USE DAILY. If it corrupts you are toast!

  • I changed my administrator account to standard account by mistake...

    Hello

My Vista Home Premium has 1 account, an administrator account. I had the a/c turned off comments. By mistake I changed this 1 account for a standard account. Now every action that requires an administrator account is showing me a promt asking a computer ASP.Net account... password.

I think that this asp.net account I had deleted or removed a year ago. I can not okey this prompt, I don't know what password to enter. So now that I'm stuck, I can't do something that requires admin rights.

    Help, please!

    Thank you

    Karl

Hi, I'm having the same problem, I remember I changed my administrator password and I forgot.

You do not have the same problem as redhalls.

You have changed a new password and you forget what is the new password. Yes?
If so, remember your old password?
If Yes, try to use this tutorial:

  • Enable SSH access to administrative accounts non-standard

    Hi all

According to the administration of VCS Guide (p 298, x8.5.1), he suggests that "in general, local administrator accounts are used to access the VCS on its web interface or the interface API, but are not allowed to access the CLI".

Well, I would like to make an exception then, how do I do this. The sentence that precedes suggests that exceptions are possible, but I can't find additional references.

We looked at the ' / etc/ssh/sshd_config ', but of course, it is a read-only file structure.

    Any ideas?

    See you soon

    Chris

I don't think it's possible, outside the admin account to access the CLI.  I know that the sentence says "In general", but to me, it reads as if all CLI access is reserved to all except the admin account.

    Hello

Dell should have drivers and the control software available on their site. Please refresh your
If possible driver and reboot before you load the new driver.

    Dell - drivers

Control Panel - Device Manager - click anywhere in the box of white/white - then VIEW - Show Hidden
Devices - look everywhere except IMAGERY for your camera and if found right on it - click UNINSTALL
    -REBOOT.

Control Panel - Device Manager - click anywhere in the box of white/white - then ACTION - Scan for
Hardware changes. If that detects your camera, then load and restart.

Double-click Control Panel / Device Manager - Imaging - writing down of the brand and model of camera.
on this subject and on the tab of the driver is version. Now, click on update drivers (who are unable to do anything as MS
is far behind the pilots of certification). RIGHT click on the camera - UNINSTALL - REBOOT - it
will update the driver stack. While there or not the USB update, then go to DELL and
Download the latest version of the driver

Control Panel right CLICK on EVERYTHING - Serial USB controllers - device configuration-manager and
UNINSTALL all but the category itself - REBOOT - it refreshes the drive and battery USB

This KB shows XP how to and the method of Vista is identical

Now, go to the system manufacturer (Dell) website and download the latest driver for the camera and the other related camera
software (if not more recent get the same).

Download - SAVE - go to them and RIGHT CLICK - RUN AS ADMIN - reboot after each driver.

Look at the sites of the manufacturer for drivers - and the manufacturer of the device manually.

Looks like your current profile does not work correctly.

Create a new profile as a test to see if your profile is the source of the problems.
See basic troubleshooting: make a new profile:

If this new profile works then you can transfer files from the old profile to the new profile (be careful not to copy corrupted files)

    Hello Taperum,

Thank you for the update on the question and sorry for a delayed response.

If the problem still persists, there may be a chance that the problem is due to system files, so I suggest you to check the system files are they work very well or not and to check who are trying to run the (SFC) System File Checker tool.

Scan SFC will be scans all protected system files and replaces incorrect versions with appropriate Microsoft versions.

How to use the System File Checker tool to fix the system files missing or corrupted on Windows Vista or Windows 7

    • Go to Start, click all programs and open the Accessories.
    • Right-click on command prompt in the list programs, and then select run as administrator. If you are prompted for an administrator password or for confirmation, type your password, or click OK.
    • In the command prompt, type the following command and press ENTER:

    sfc/scannow

  • I have a problem with a record for the administrator account.

Original title: my password as an administrator does not work how to fix it when it doesn't let me do anything to my computer without password

my computer will be noy take my password. IM the only one without her addministrator I can't make changes or even get in my control panel. my index is always the same that a TI does not work. Can howw I fix?

There are a lot of options built into Windows to help you out of this situation:
    • Restart the computer with your Windows repair CD, then use system restore to set Windows in a few days (only works if you have recently changed the password).
    • Log on to your account admin to spare, and then reset the password for your existing account (works only if you set up an alternative admin account).
    • Log in as administrator mode without failure, then reset the password for your existing account (the password is usually empty).
    • Insert your flash drive USB with the password key file (only works if you have taken the time to create such a key file).
    • Use the password indicator (works only if you have created an index and it is up-to-date)
    • Check your paper files (works only if you threw down the password somewhere)
  • While creating a new account, my own disappeared "computer administrator account.

When I created a new user account for my girls, my own family's missing "computer administrator account. Everything that I have now is my "acct kids" who says it is my "admin acct comp' now and all my icons, Favorites, all is gone and can't find it. I didn't delete it, I don't think. When I go to remove user accounts, it isn't here either. I made a password for my account before it disappeared however. Can I retrieve it somehow like that? I'm so disappointed.

It is a feature, not a bug.

Windows XP has a built-in account named "Administrator" (without the quotes).  The design idea was that you should only use this account for "emergencies" and not to use it on a daily basis.  This is because that the accounts of users, sometimes, be damaged, it is useful to have a verified account with full administrative access that you can use to fix things.

To "enforce" this idea (or at least to encourage users to follow), as soon as you create a new account with "Computer administrator" privileges, Windows XP hidden administrator on the Welcome screen.

The administrator account is still there.

If you have Windows XP Pro, press CTRL + ALT + DELETE twice during to the home screen when you are logged on all accounts.  You will get the "classic" logon window  Enter Administrator as the user and the password defined.

If you have XP Home Edition, you must start the computer Safe Mode by repeatedly pressing the F8 key just after the restart.  If you see the Windows logo, you waited too long to start typing and have to start over.  You can use this method without failure for XP Pro as well.  Once Windows starts in Mode safe mode, the administrator account appears on the Welcome screen.

You have two options at this point: (1) make a new "computer administrator" account for your everyday use and copy to administrator stuff (and then let administrator not used except for emergency situations) or (2) create a "computer administrator" account that you will use that with the exception of emergency situations and make administrator appear on the Welcome screen.  I suggest you to option (1).

(1): see "workgroup" mode here--> http://support.microsoft.com/kb/811151 account 'Administrator' you used is the "corrupt" account the "new user profile' is the new account that you create which has"computer administrator"privileges and you will need to log on to an account with "computer administrator" privileges to do all this - which can be the 'kids' acct (which, depending on your position, does not have these privileges).

(2): make the administrator account visible on the homepage: http://www.theeldergeek.com/missing_administrator_account.htm
C:\WINDOWS\ERUNT allows you to make a backup of the registry before start you.

Note: once you have things under control and have a spare part "computer administrator" account, regardless of how you choose to do, I suggest you do your children has a "Limited user" account to limit the amount of malice, they are able to do (of course, if they are more than 8 years they will be able to find a way to work around this problem).
