Administrator on HomeNetwork accounts

I have a HP Slimline desktop with me as an administrator and a Comcast email address. I recently bought a HP Envy laptop and configure the account administrator with an outlook e-mail account. Both machines are running windows 8.1 and both are on the home network. I made many changes on my laptop under the outlook administrator account.

My question is this. If my administrator account on the desktop computer and laptop use the same e-mail address on each machine? If Yes, since I made changes to my laptop, how can I change the email address on it or is there a way I can link together two administrator accounts?

Hello

Note: once your account to switch to a local account, repeat step 1,2,3,4 and click on "Switch to a Microsoft account" and enter your email address to change.

Answer to your 2nd question "is there a way I can link two administrator accounts?

Unfortunately according to the design of Windows, we can bind two administrator account, but we can share the setting between 2 PC using the same e-mail account on 'Windows 8' or higher version. For more information, see the article below.

Technically they can both be deleted.  For example, your account can be deleted too, if you wish.  You just may not be already connected to it.  If you wanted to see Remove button appears, you will need to restart, and then connect to the other account.

  • Windows XP Administrative lockout user account

I have a windows XP and we have a total of four accounts of users one of our children set up the administrator user account and I forgot the password now we are locked out of all the administrative capabilities and microsoft applications of Word Please help as soon as possible, we are needing to use these programs.

I'm not sure what running MS Word has to do with what you wrote (the word should open fine in a limited user account), but here's how to fix your password.

If you have forgotten your password, if you have another user who has administrative privileges account you can log in to that account and change the password of your account of origin of the user accounts applet in Control Panel. If you do not have another account like this set upwards or that you do not have the password which you will need to log on to the built-in Administrator account. In XP Home, start the computer in Mode safe. This, by repeatedly pressing the F8 key as the computer starts. This will put you in the right menu. Navigate using your arrow up; the mouse does not work here. Once in safe mode, you will see the normally hidden administrator account. The default password is white.

In XP Pro, you don't need to go to Safe Mode. In the home screen, do Ctrl-Alt-Del twice to get the classic Windows logon box. Type in "Administrator" and the password that you assigned when you set up Windows.

If you reset the password of the account administrator integrated into house or have Pro and don't remember the password, use NTpasswd to change the password of the built-in to a white administrator account. Download the bootable CD .iso image file, burn with third-party burning software such as the free ImgBurn, Nero or Roxio. Burn as an image, not in the form of data. Start with the media that you have created. You need to maybe change the boot order in the BIOS or obtain a menu of boot command temporary with the pressure of a special key. NTpasswd will run. Follow the instructions carefully.

Then, go to the user accounts applet in Control Panel and set passwords that you remember and other changes. WRITE THE PASSWORDS DOWN AND PUT THEM SOMEWHERE YOU WON'T LOSE THEM. MS - MVP - Elephant Boy computers - don't panic!

  • Built-in administrator or an account administrator of the user created in Windows XP Professional?

It is best to use the built-in Administrator account or a user created the administrator account in Windows XP Professional? Please provide details. Responses invited experienced users.

You may not use the built-in account named Administrator on a regular basis.  Instead, create an account with "computer administrator" privileges  When you do so, the built-in Administrator account no longer displays on the home screen (which is to encourage you to leave it alone).

You can also create an account 'limited' for regular use.

Why not use the built-in Administrator account is that, sometimes, going to be damaged.  It is much easier to recover from a user account damaged if there is a good administrator-level account.

If you use the administrator account on a regular basis and it is corrupt, you'll have a more difficult recovery.

  • I do not change the settings of my administrator. My account is now limited.

Didn't change my administrator account settings but it changed to limited. The other account is not even at the beginning upward on the desktop.

I went in the BACK, F8 to boot more known, then try the 'safe' mode, but still not access administration settings. This is Windows XP home.

There is a built-in Administrator account that cannot be deleted.  Try to connect using this account and then restore on your user account administrator privileges.  To access the administrator account, follow the instructions here:

'Forgotten your Windows XP Home password? "- Part 3: define a new password as an administrator.

What the "Administrator" settings you can not access?  The quick check for an administrator is to right-click on 'start '.  If one of the choices that appears is "Open All Users", then you have administrator privileges.

You may be unable to connect to Windows Vista or Windows 7 in the following scenarios:

    • Scenario 1: You recently set a new password for the protected administrator account. However, you don't remember the password.
    • Scenario 2: You type the correct password. However, Windows Vista or Windows 7 does not accept the password because the system is damaged.
