• After effects CC trial download won't start

  In the past, I used to have the license of intern of the CC for a year and some programs installed on my MacBookPro version 10.10.1 with 8 GB of RAM. The end of the licence term, I uninstalled all the programs I downloaded previously. Now for a personal project non profit of mine, I would download the trial after effects CC. Download won't start after giving creative cloud application permission to start the download (I found the trial on the website). Fifteen minutes after the download began, and with a good internet connection, the download bar is always at 0% and when I went to the site again to check if my download has already started, After Effects icon says "Cancel" instead of "Download" in the creative cloud application.

  Try output compared to the Creative clouds - click on the gear icon (to the upper right) and go to Preferences.

  I have problems to download free trial version of Adobe after effects C6. I clicked on the download of EI, but when it opens Adobe Application Manager it does not appear on the list. Other applications adobe appears to try/install. I use Windows Vista.

  I just finished a conversation with a customer service representative.

  I have a perpetual license of Adobe Production Premium CS6 I used for a while. Then I made the HUGE mistake of switch to CC and try it. My subscription has ended and I decided to go back to the CS6 (took me forever to convert all my files compatible CS6 if...). All of my applications worked really well... With the exception of After Effects.

  Everytime I open the program, it opens a message window that reads:

  RENEW YOUR SUBSCRIPTION

  Go to the Manager of subscription to renew your subscription for creative cloud and continue to use your product without interruption...

  The customer service representative told me that I need to renew my subscription or purchase a new license... is this for real?

  In the end... even though I own a perpetual license for a lot of programs that I use on my daily life (Photoshop, Illustrator, Premiere, and After Effects), I still have to pay rent to use After Effects? Can someone give me an answer please? I'll appreciate that.

  Unless your license has been acquired as part of some special educational or other similar agreement, if you paid full price directly to the license, you must always keep the license and the ability to take full advantage of it.  You can try to contact Adobe support for more details.

  I got the help of Adobe support, they sent me another link to download Adobe App Mgr It was apparently a network problem but, and it was resolved after a few re-tent.

  You do not want to edit long movies in AE. After effects is NOT video editing software.  A non-linear editing (NLE) like Premiere Pro is for editing photos to tell a story. AE is for compositing, Visual effects and graphic cartoons. It is for the creation of clichés that you then use in an NLE.

  I suggest to get at least 16 GB of RAM to work with AE, but your system should work as it is. You will need to learn to manage your memory well and to get a glimpse at lower resolutions where possible.

  Now, as to your original question. AE is not simply to play a video stream, as does a NLE. After effects (such as other software based compositing on pixels) with completely decompressed frames. When you put a video compressed in a composition, the size of the original video file has no effect on the size of the images that works with After Effects. After effects unpacks this video and works internally with a full, uncompressed resolution, frames. AE calculates the values of each pixel in each image, comes with a new pixel and then reads these pixels. Who is?

  In fact, since you have so little RAM and the processor is not either, it may be a good idea to convert your video files highly compressed in a good intermediate codec for the shots, that you intend to use in AE. QuickTime with the PNG codec would be a decent choice. This way AE doesn't have to do a ton of work to decompress images behind the scenes until you can even work with him.
