  I have a computer of the first order, of the video card, ram, a quad core processor. All other video files work fine, but my camera (insignia HD) exports in .avi, and. MOV, and for one of my images in After Effects, I must therefore use other programs to make the video file to another type of file, which considerably hampers my quality, and I just don't have the time to do. I've seen others on the importation of youtube videos. AVI files but for some reason I can't. I mean I can, but it just appears in the thumbnail under white with green sound waves below and playing anything. becomes very frustrating. Ive looked for answers on google but I can not find. What may be a codec problem? Also my. AVI files work very well on programs such as power Director 9 and Windows movie maker. Just not After effects.

  Thanks Dave, I appreciate your help. Wasent necessary, but no worrys sarcasm I see your photo, you're a bit of ancient origin, so I understand. I infact "read the manual" infact it is the first thing I did. It did not help, but then again why would it? for its insignia brand. (cheap as dirt) Anyway, the .avi files are still not working but I went out to. MOV, and it works like a charm solved problem. I appreciate your help.

• After Effects CS5 - Keylight 1.2 pipette crashes on me!

  Recently, I worked on an independent project and I created some green screen footage and tried to edit it in After Effects.
  After that I added the effect 1.2 Keylight to my images, I went to the Eyedropper to click on it and then it crashes on me and gives me an error and stops completely After Effects!

  I managed to take a screenshot of the error popup so that way you guys can see for yourselves.

  

  I thought that, maybe, it has the. MP4 video.  So, I converted the video to a .avi file and tried to apply the same Keylight effect again.  Once I clicked on the pipette, it gave me the same message again and stops After Effects.  I thought maybe it was only the video files that cause problems?  So, I thought I tried a green screen image, and the error came again.  Maybe it's the project file?  Nope.  I started a new publication and added in the video in the composition, added tried 1.2, Keylight effect by selecting the pipette and once more... it still gives me the error.

  The problem is not video or image.  It's the Keylight 1.2 pipette that is causing the error.  I thought that, maybe, I need to update my laptop?  Updated, still the same problem.  The next thing I did was trying to find a way to solve this problem online.  I noticed that there is an update for Adobe After Effects CS5 update 10.0.02.  So, I updated to After Effects and restarted my laptop.  When I went back in After Effects and still applied the same effect and when I tried selecting the eyedropper... gives me an error... once again.

  I'm sorry if this sounds a little repetitive, but I wanted to be thorough in my explanation that I can try to find a solution to this problem.  I really need this to work again because I'm working on a very important project.  It's weird, the Keylight 1.2 never gave me any problems in the past.  It works perfectly at the time.  So, why he does not correctly now?

  Let me guess, you use Yosemite or newer on your operating system?

  If so, be aware that CS5.5 and earlier are not supported on this OS, so should have weird bugs.

  That being said, go to your preferences and change the use System Color Picker setting and see if that helps.

• Is After Effects CS5.5 only PowerPC? (Installation problem)

  I just installed Adobe Creative Suite Production Premium 5.5 on a new (2012) Mac Mini (Intel Core i7 processor) running OS X Lion mountain 10.8.2.  Most of the applications installed correctly, but After Effects CS5.5 gives me the following error when I try to launch:

  Cannot open the application "Adobe After Effects CS5.5" because the PowerPC applications are no longer supported.

  I tried to uninstall and reinstall the app (with Flash Catalyst, which also fails), but the error remains. What is the problem here? Is it an installation problem or After Effects CS5.5 is really not compatible with my new hardware/operating system?  Any suggestion is appreciated.

  OK, answered my own question.  I was installing on a Mac Mini, which does not have an optical drive, so I used a remote optical drive to install on my network.  It turns out that confuses the installer.  I finished copying the DVD to install it on a flash drive and the installation of one.  Problem disappeared.

  Forgive my ignorance if this has been discussed, but I am running Windows 7, with a processor i7 970 Hexacore, 12 GB of RAM, a GTX 460 (I know that the Mercury playback engine does not support this, for some reason any)... I bought CS5 Production Suite and I'm very psyched on this subject, however, After Effects will not install with the following error code. Can someone help me? (Would be my GPU prevent After Effects install?) I thought that it would simply not be able to use the Mercury playback engine if the card was not supported.)

  You can not.  It is impossible. End of the story.

  You must have a computer capable of running an operating system of 64-bit like the last Apple OS 10 - which the cat name they are so far, the Ocelot or something? -or Windows 7.

  Now, when you get the floppies to install Creative Suite CS5, Adobe thoughtfully includes previous versions of 32-bit first and AE.  But because you pay all these new bells of 64-bit & whistles, it seems kinda stupid, not doesn't it?   It is designed as an interim measure.

  Go get yourself a new computer and the operating system.  And if you can't, put up with what you have.

  Personally, I had to wait 9 months before I could afford a new 64-bit machine.

• Adobe After Effects CC does not open. Application 0XC0000142 error

  I'm subscribed to creative cloud Adobe for Adobe After effects. I did install it and when I try to open AE it gives me an error reading this: the application could not start correctly (0xc0000142). Now, I tried installing and reinstalling 3 times.  I am running Windows 10 on my PC. It's an HP with an AMD Athlon (TM) II x 4 820 processor 2.80 GHz 8.00 GB Ram and 64-bit operating system. I don't know what to do. I did a lot of research, and I can't find answers anywhere. I have already installed CS5 and it works. The Media encoder provided with Creative Cloud AE also works. What is the problem why AE will not open. I am very frustrated and any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you

  The update of the corrections after effects CC 2015 (13.6.1) is available. It fixes several bugs, including one in discussion on this topic.

  I write graphics company where we have 4 computers (2 are HP Z800 and 2 other HP Z400) after effects CS5

  and a year ago, we bought 4 licenses for Boris Continuum Complete 7 AE plugins

  In the HP Z800 computers 2, we have a problem with the plugins 3D BCC7 BORIS Boris objects. The other Boris Continuum Complete 7 AE plugins work correctly.

  Other computers 2 HP Z400 all plugins go OK including BCC7 BORIS Boris objects

  Each computer has Windows 7 and NVIDIA graphics Quadro 5000
  

  I have attached a printscreen where you can see the errors that occur after effects. At the end of the program is closed

  Well, if the question is so specific, you can contact BorisFX' rely on this. Also make sure that your graphics Setup. Even if the cards are the same, you may be using different drivers or have a different screen configuration that causes these problems...
