  Hi all.  I use Adobe Captivate 8 on Windows.  I have a slide that has 2 buttons.  The buttons are placed in advanced actions, when you click on it to play an audio file and display the text, and then set the variable key 1, clicked.  The button are similar functions and can be clicked in any order.  When you click on the two buttons, I need to read an audio of conclusion.

  My problem is that once the second button is clicked, select what action starts immediately, as the two buttons were clicked and the condition is now filled.  I need to finish reading the audio second-clicked the button before she turns to the next action, and no matter what I try it doesn't work!  Major frustration!  If you need me to post any screen shots, please let me know.  Thanks in advance,

  You must use conditional Actions, not simple actions.  With a Standard action or conditional button does not automatically frees the timeline AFTER it has been clicked.

  You must also configure the tracking variables so that your conditional Action will be able to determine whether or not the two buttons were clicked and that's why the audio file should be placed accordingly.

• Advanced button action

  Is it possible to implement the buttons to display the content when push and then change the content on the screen when any other key, without having to switch?

  I have 6 different keys on the screen who all have different content for them. I've set up for appear and disappear through the enabling/disabling of advance action, is there a way I can make disappear without having to click on the new button. I want that the learner to be able to click each button and see the content appropriate without stacking it.

  Develop a little, for each action button that you need to display the applicable text and hide the other 5 because you do not know who would be showing advanced. 1 show and 5 leathers.

  The process that I mentioned will involve the mail client, opening on the end user's computer (assuming that it has been correctly configured and works). It is up to the user to click the button to actually start the shipping process so that the recipient will receive the message.

  If you are looking for a solution by which the user never sees the email client but a message behind the scenes, it is possible to achieve, but it will take a lot of "behind the scenes" Setup. You will need some sort of a script that runs on the web server that receives and process information, then he sends through e-mail to the server traffic.

• The maddening (but still fake) buttons actions

  Hi there-

  The interface of my project has 10 buttons. For each button: click on the button, shows the hidden group. Group contains bkgd form, text block, text link "check it out", which climbs to another slide, text link "Not now" that hides the group to display back to the base interface.

  

  By clicking on a button displays its target group. By clicking on the link 'not now' refers to the base for the first action interface. If I then click a second button, hidden group shows as it should to may. - 1.2 seconds, and then passes to the second slide in the project.

  Back to the blade of departure seems to 'reset' of the issue: I can click a button to see the hidden display group, click "not now" to hide, and then click another button to repeat the hidden group flash / jump to the second slide.

  Same thing if I click a button, then click the button another without using the action 'not now' to clear the group, which is not surprising. The first hidden group remains visible, the second appears in the display, then the project moves to the second slide. I have an action assigned to each link 'not now' which includes the masking of the corresponding group and then take a break. I have not yet addressed the question where the user would just click on button after button (which I think would be common behavior and must be addressed, too).

  Clearly, Miss something which forces the slide to pause and reset. I have an onEnter action attached to the interface that resets the interface by hiding all the groups, taking into.

  

  I tried several different ways to try to fix the problem of chronology of slides, but it seems no matter what I do: I tried a specific time for objects (3 seconds that the slide is 3 seconds in all), defining the groups to perform for the rest of the slide, adding a break after 3 seconds, adding a break after various shorter durations etc.

  Did you use advanced buttons actions? Because a simple gesture going out of reading. Why choose Standard Simple action?-Captivate blog

  If you use a standard action (oneliner), and all the buttons have a break at this very moment, playhead will remain on the frame just before the point of suspension, which allows the user to click on the buttons as many times as he wants.

  It seems that you don't know how the question slides are set in Captivate. The next button has a dual functionality: during the quiz, it's a Skip button, which means no results at all. It is necessary during the review to avoid blocking of the user on question slides. If you don't provide a review of the quiz, you can get rid of the next key completely. If you provide a review, drag the next under the Clear button button (can be done on the master quiz slides). This way it won't be visible during quiz, but becomes visible during examination where the Clear key is automatically deleted.

  This changed in Captivate 9, but you're still on 8.

  You can use the Drag and Drop action success of interaction to DISPLAY the missing arrows when a user correctly place all objects to slide on their targets.

  I have some questions, do what I think is a simplistic 'Advanced Action' branch.  I am running Adobe Captivate 8.0.1.242 on a Windows 7 computer - I hope it's an easy solution for a guru of Captivate.

  I have a menu widget drop-down, which assigns a value to a variable "DEM" - according to the results of that variable, I want to jump to a specific slide.  Currently, I have correctly inserted the menu widget drop-down and he had to assign a value to the variable.  I made a simple action that jumps to a specific slide based on MNES and changed the action of 'Success' of the button continue my slide to run the Advanced tip Action.  But when I click on the button, I hear a 'click' sound, but the slide does not advance.

  Why did you include CAADR, the value from the interaction of the drop-down list, quotation marks? Variables and literals are case sensitive and must be accurate. I guess you did? Because Captivate will only add double quotation marks if the value is at least two words.

  I am using Captivate 5 and have a problem with the display of an image with a tip action.

  I am trying to create a simple table of contents custom. I can't use integrated OCD because, as far as I know, there is no option to have appear only at the beginning of the project - it is available as long as the project is open. It is a problem for me, since I have limited screen real estate, so I can not have it on the side, and I can't bunk it. Anyway, I digress.

  At the end of each topic, I want the user to return to the table of contents and see an indicator of subjects duly filled in. I added an image which is hidden initially on the TOC next to each topic list. Then, on the question slide, the user presses navigation button, a tip action uses 'show' to make the image on visible table of contents slide and then refers the user to the table of contents. Unfortunately, the image still remains hidden.

  If the image is on the same blade that the tip action, everything works. I can also add a user variable that updates a text caption on the slide table of contents of a fast action on the slide for the topic.

  Is it possible to display an image with a tip of a different slide action?

  I see in one of the posts of Lilybiri (http://lilybiri.posterous.com/playing-hide-and-seek-with-captivate-objects):

  However, there is a reference to "when using"Display for the rest of the project. I don't know if this limit also applies to my situation, but I suspect it might be the cause of the problem.

  As an alternative, I tried setting a variable that changes when the slide of the subject is visited. A conditional action then shows the image on the table of contents. Unfortunately I do not know how to trigger this action, as it should be something like an action "on the slide open", and I do not know if such a thing exists. In addition, this approach seems too complex.

  You are right that advanced Actions will be able to SHOW or HIDE an object on the current slide you are watching.  They have no effect on another slide that is not currently displayed.

  So what you have to do is assign the User Variables for each section of the project that the user has completed and Actions conditional Advanced triggered by the OnSlideEnter of the menu slide event allows to detect if the user has completed a section given by the value of the variable user for this section.

  In the code, it should be easy.

  The following code adds that a button called butman with text 'ADD '.
  It then registers a listener that will be called if the user clicks the button.

  This listener then calls the runAddData method if you clicked butman while it contained the text of "ADD" and it calls the runClearData method otherwise.
  That's why he will swap the functionality of the button between ADD and CLEAR on each click.

  You might want to run the ADD and CLEAR methods in their own son so that it can run in the background without slowing down your user interface.

  I also reuse rather a single button for several features instead of to apply with hundreds of nodes used only rarely with masses of code to show and hide as needed.

Many of these slides can click to display the advanced type of interactions.  When I copy and paste slides in a new project, advanced interactions do not seem to copy.  Does anyone know how to copy and paste slides into a new project and interaction advanced so that I don't have to recreate the variables and interactions?   I tried the following Adobe Captivate help, but I lost.

  I tracked down the problem with the download and installation, my windows 7 was missing a file and everything worked after reinstalling windows.  The first 32-bit program in their list was used.  I hope this can help others.
