  Just started watching a video called Lynda.com Tutorial: "creating a first Web site with DW-CC-2014."

  Not sure if I'm missing something, but to the beginning of the course Paul Trani has a video of the view from the code which appears a HTML5 tag, called left_col.

  Such a tag is there?

  (I can't find anywhere - W3C wanted).  Confuse the heck out of me.

  There may be in XML (or as a class or ID in CSS), but HTML5?  Maybe I'm missing something...

  Yes, it is certainly not a HTML5 tag.

  No idea on the XML data, or why they would muddy the waters of a "My first site" style tutorial with something like that.

  If I had to guess, I'd say it was an oops, as this screenshot is a HTML5 document.

  Your 2011 Dreamweaver version cannot be updated, in the same way that Ford (or any other car manufacturer) is not provide you with a free car when a new model is available. Therefore, you have several options:

  • Subscribe to the creative cloud to get the latest version of Dreamweaver.
  • Use the media, free HTML/CSS Editor from Adobe.
  • Type the HTML5 attributes manually in Code from Dreamweaver mode and ignore the error messages you get.

  Here's the Basic code that I use for html5 video in older versions of DW (with emergency Flash)...

  Paste this code into your source view highlight it, then click on the + button on the bottom of your Snippets window and give it a name. From here out, you just double click on this snippet to add the video. Make sure you have at least two extensions of video source to cover all browsers and're you good to go.

  Creative cloud is simply a distribution model & payment.  You always download & install the software on your computer as you always have.  You always save the files on your local hard drive, you always. Nothing has changed in this regard.

  CS2, 3, 4, 5, 5.5 is no longer supported or sold by Adobe.  If you buy software from another source in line do so at your own risk.  The pirated versions were circulating these last time and they do not work.  In some cases, they contain malware that could compromise your computer.

  You have a modern operating system.  This is another reason to use current software. Several older versions required Rosetta which Apple is more included in its press releases.  Purchase of old copies similarly ligit software does not mean that it will work on your system.  Let's face it, the stuff you used 8 years ago are useless today because Apple & Win continue to change operating systems.

  I use a little media with DW CC.  It is a very fast, modern code editor.   In fact, Adobe will soon integrate DW CC 2016 version supports.

  Adobe does not sell or support the CS5.5, it has long been outside the support lifecycle policy and is around 7-8 deleted versions of the 'current '.

  I was wildly excited know CC allowing extensions to HTML5, until I noticed that Dreamweaver does not support this yet.  Doesn't make sense to me as Dreamweaver is designed for the code for the web.  Any idea when the support can be added?  I want to go to work making extensions!

  I bought a laptop and I know it was Photoshop and Dreamweaver on it.  Then the hard drive crashed.  I wrote the serial numbers of mail for my software.  However, I can't tell which version is installed.  I tried to install CS5 and CS6, but the serial number was not correct for each version.  I have to continue to work through each version of the software?  Or y at - there a way to tell which software serial number is associated with save me time?

  A serial number that has been registered by "a kid to College" does not belong to you unless you and "a kid to College" a transfer of license members creative cloud can transmit or sell old versions of CS?

  Not as far as I can tell, but with a subscription of cloud you can always download Edge animate when you have a connection available and later use it without connection.
