  Flash Player is a browser plugin and only works in the browser. It does not display the SWF files outside of the browser.  You can do one of the following:

  • Display the SWF file in the browser, using the Protocol file:// (e.g. file:///Users/UserID/Desktop/FileName.swf)
    • In the browser menu, select file > open the batch file and navigate to the location of the SWF file to open it
  • Use the Flash Player projector, posted to Adobe Flash Player - Debug downloads, more precisely the file to download the Flash Player projector for Mac
    • It is a stand-alone program that allows to view SWF files
    • Download the DMG the APP it extract
      • In the main menu, select file > open file (Alternatively adrag and drop the SWF above)

• Adobe Flash Player Installer gets stuck "downloading" and will not move forward

  I'm on Mac OSX 10.10.1, using as Safari and Chrome browsers. I've recently upgraded to Yosemite since then, received error messages that I don't have Flash installed. When I download the installer, it gets stuck and will not exceed 30% of "" downloaded. I left for hours, and it's still at 30 when I get back. Is there a permissions issue that I could play with to allow him to continue the installation? Suggestions for what to try to get this installed?

Thank you and good AFP. I enabled 'Shockwave Flash Object', but when I click 'Check now' to see if has been installed, it says "sorry, Flash Player is either not installed or not enabled. How can this be? He said indeed that it is installed and activated. To the best of my knowledge, I followed all the instructions to the letter - and more than once. I guess the update to Windows 8 would solve it, as it is already installed? Thanks for any help.

  I had to factory reset my computer and now it's not let me install Flash Player. I had to make sure I downloaded all the updates on the computer to figure what could be the cause. I reset the computer to ensure that the updates are finished but still do not get any resolution.

  I use firefox and works to download but when I get to the installer it stops working and I have to use the Task Manager so that he can stop. Help please?

  1. reboot your computer to make sure there is not any Adobe processes are running.

  2. click on the Adobe link. Go down where it is still said "of the problems' and click on the link to Firefox.

  Hi, im trying to download the latest version of Adobe flash and the Installer keeps freezing. my browser is Firefox but it is the latest version of it and iv tried other browsers and nothing changes. It is a PC brand new that I received yesterday so I don't know what could be wrong. whenever I have start downloading it downloads as usual, then im asked to run the program, and before I click Yes I close all the windows and everything is running in the background. then I click Run and the gray area appears for the installer, but nothing happens.   Flash player is bundled with google chrome and you cannot update or reinstall again outside of google chrome. To get the latest version of Flash player for chrome, you must update your google chrome. The current version is 17.0.0.169 and you can check your existing version by visiting the Flash Player Help link and click check now. And if your flash is still stuck on the last version of 17.0.0.169 in Chrome, well want to file a bug in https://bugbase.adobe.com/ with all possible details.

  The Setup file you use must be the installation of a flash drive for any other browser, but not for google chrome.
