  Depends on what you need to upgrade to.  Probably, you can't move on to a new Creative Suite CS4 because it is the most often is no longer in the upgrade path.  CS5 is usually at least in the way, and the only upgrade you could get is for CS6 since Adobe does not sell the old versions.

  If you want to join the creative cloud then you should be able to upgrade to the special Introduction plan, they have for the owners of the Creative Suite.

  Did a little more digging.  I had to delete this file: program files Files\Adobe\backup\caps.db

  and then the setup.exe has started working.

  Unfortunately, I don't think that there is much that anyone here can do for you. Do not have a number to activate previous versions to use an upgrade. No one can give you. There are a lot of people post who buy software on ebay that does not work for one reason or the other. In most cases it is hacked. The announcement on ebay said that it was an upgrade? If this isn't the case, you might be able to put in a complaint on ebay within the time limit.

  I'm going to buy a new PC and I would like to re - install my version of Adobe Photoshop CS4 in my new computer.
