  I'm going to buy a new PC and I would like to re - install my version of Adobe Photoshop CS4 in my new computer.   Depends on what you need to upgrade to.  Probably, you can't move on to a new Creative Suite CS4 because it is the most often is no longer in the upgrade path.  CS5 is usually at least in the way, and the only upgrade you could get is for CS6 since Adobe does not sell the old versions.

  If you want to join the creative cloud then you should be able to upgrade to the special Introduction plan, they have for the owners of the Creative Suite.

  This could be attributed to several factors such as conflicts between device drivers, applications, settings of operating system, hardware, and corrupt elements in specific files.

  Basic troubleshooting
  
  1. make sure that the computer meets the minimum requirements for Photoshop.
  2. install all Windows updates. .
  3 re-create the Photoshop preferences file.

  Re-create the Photoshop preferences file to eliminate problems that may cause a damaged Preferences file.

  To re-create the Photoshop preferences files:

  1. quit Photoshop.
  2. rename the \AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop CS4\Adobe Photoshop CS4 Settings\Adobe Photoshop CS4 Prefs.psp directory Users\ [username] Adobe Photoshop CS4 Prefs.old.
  3 launch Photoshop. Photoshop creates a new Adobe Photoshop CS4 Prefs.psp file.
