Adobe Reader Submit button using JavaScript

We have a form once submitted to use javascript to update the subject line of the e-mail message to our workflow process. This process works absolutely fine when using Acrobat. However, when sent to someone using Reader (even with JavaScript enabled in preferences) nothing happens when the button is clicked. The form has been designed in Acrobat Professional 10.

Here's the JavaScript code we use...

var wsuid = this.getField ("mywsuid");

var d = new Date();

var month = d.getMonth () + 1;

var day = d.getDate ();

year = var d.getFullYear ();

var today = ((''+month).length < 2?) ('0': ") + month + ' / ' + ((''+day).length < 2?) ('0': ") + ' / ' + day + year;

var name = this.getField ("name");

var object = "object:" + (wsuid.valueAsString) + ":" + (name.valueAsString) + ': ' + (today); "."

this.mailDoc({)
bUI: true,
cTo: "[email protected]."
cCc:
bassujetti: object,
});

Suggestions on comes to work with Acrobat Reader is much appreciated.

Okay, Yes... What happened, is that you choose an unfortunate name for your variable. You see, there is already a property of the subject called Document object, and it cannot be written to the drive. Even if you have defined your own variable with the same name, the script is to find that one first, where the error. Rename your variable to something else (like subjectLine) and it should work fine.

    Hi hanekam123,

    I'm sorry, that is not possible, that is how Acrobat/Reader is built. For drive mode, you can use Ctrl + L to fullscreen or Ctrl + H.

  • disable a button using javascript

    Hi guys,.

    How to disable a button using javascript code?

    I used below the code, but its does not work any idea with this...
    document.getElementById('DELETE_BT').disabled = true;
    My button key attributes is id = "DELETE_BT" .

    Thank you in advance

    Hello

    Try this:
    Use it in your JavaScript code.

    $('button[type="button"][value="Cancel"]').attr('disabled', 'disabled');

    It's a jQuery code I've tried on a button of the model with label/Alt text like "Cancel".
    which is used in above code * [value = "Cancel"] *.
    The normal deactivation mechanism with above methods do not work on the model function button
    as it is not built usinginternally in the ApEx, but using
    and that's why they don't have any idattribute.

    I hope this helps!

  • Is Adobe Reader safe to use now, or do we have a fraudulent message?

    Last week we received a message allegedly from Adobe. He appeared onscreen in a wide range BEFORE we went online in our website to email, so he didn't come through our usual yahoo channels. He warned that Adobe Flash Player 10.1.82.76, Adobe Reader 9.3.4 and Adobe Acrobat 9.3.4 (and all previous programs) have been seriously wrong and there was evidence that Flash Player has been let by attackers. He said that the computer would crash and that's where they have the opportunity. Well our computer had crashed just before that and once since. He also recommended removing all affected Adobe kit and it relacing with updated versions.

    We checked our Flash drive which was 10.0.45.2. -clearly older than the last. He recommended download of Flash Player 10.1.85.3. However when we have erased our Flash Player and asked the last update he only gave us 10.0.45.2 new! Why? (We have subscribed to the free package.)

    However, it is somewhat irrelevant as this is the reader Forum. Whats important to say here is that currently, we withdrew ALL our kit from Adobe for fear it is unsecure: Flash Player, Reader and the plug-in.

    My question to the reader is: is Adobe Reader 9.3.4 safe to use now? I contacted a colleague, who said hes only got Reader 9.1 on her, so if this message is true, then it is affected as well. Can anyone confirm if this message was from Adobe? What it na not go via yahoo, we have a record of it once we turned off, but assumed it was authentic, as Adobe usually comes to us this way. But we are reluctant to come back if it means trouble. Our computer is quite modern, uses windows and usually go us through Firefox.

    Hello

    Yes, Adobe had fixed some security flaws, via Adobe Reader 9.3.4. Hope will help the following links, gather you more information about the security fixes in Adobe Reader 9.3.4:

    http://www.Adobe.com/support/security/bulletins/APSB10-17.html

    http://kb2.Adobe.com/CPS/837/cpsid_83708.html

    You can safely download Adobe Reader 9.3.4 link mentioned without fear of being hacked below.

    FTP://ftp.adobe.com/pub/Adobe/Reader/Win/9.x/9.3.4/enu/AdbeRdr934_en_US.exe

    It is the same for Adobe Acrobat 9.3.4 true.

  • Setting a value of option button using Javascript

    After much research, I realized that the appropriate command to get the value of a radio button in JavaScript of the APEX is 'html_RadioValue', but I was not able to understand a command that will allow you to that you set the value of the option button. Is there a documentation on the use of the APEX of the JavaScript which covers this issue?

    Here is a simplified version of the script:

    < script language = "JavaScript" type = "text/javascript" >
    function showval()
    {
    var item1 = html_RadioValue ('P19_RADIO');
    Alert (Item1);

    Invert the current selection
    If (item1 == 'Y') then
    {
    < mystery_statement > //set P19_RADIO n.
    }
    on the other
    {
    < mystery_statement > P19_RADIO //set to Y.
    }
    }
    < /script >

    I tried the following, but none of them have worked:

    -document.getElementById ("P19_RADIO") .value = 'n';
    -document.getElementById ("P19_RADIO") .checked = 'n';
    -$x('P19_RADIO').value = 'n';
    -$x('P19_RADIO').checked = 'n';

    Thank you.

    Chris:

    - document.getElementById("P19_RADIO_0").checked = true; // should work. '0' is the index of the first item in the radio group

  • Insert an image in the pdf (Adobe Acrobat Pro DC) using javascript

    So, basically, what I want to do:

    .this.getField('imageField').importImage('path_to_img');

    I know that this code is not correct, but is there a way to do this? I couldn't find the solution in the Acrobat documentation.

    Most of the issues I found referred to the problem when the user selects an image at the click of a button. I don't want that.

    I need something like what I wrote above, because path_to_image is a variable I'm pulling from a database...

    Do you actually fix layout of the button to "Icon?" only

  • this.saveAsText Adobe Reader button

    General information

    I use DC of Acrobat Reader and Adobe Acrobat Pro XI on Windows 7.

    The problem

    I have a form with several fields of text adobe. I want to add a button to the form that export field data to a .txt file. To this end, I placed this code in a Javascript file level to the path ' C:\Program Files (x 86) \Adobe\Acrobat 2015\Reader\Javascripts Reader:

    var exportTrial = app.trustedFunction(function(){
      app.beginPriv();
      this.exportAsText();
      app.endPriv();
    });

    I added a button to my form and set the action 'Run A JavaScript' with

    exportTrial();

    as the code.

    I extended rights (I think) using file > save as other > Reader Extended PDF > activate tools plus (includes filling out form and save).

    When the form is opened in Adobe Reader, the button is visible, but when it is pushed, the console displays the following error message:

    NotAllowedError: Security settings prevent access to this property or method.
    Doc.exportAsText:3:Field Button:Mouse Up

    If I understand it, the code I have pop is a "save under" type dialog box for the user to choose where to place the output file. I'll eventually use cPath argument to skip this step, but I need to get the basics working first.

    If anyone can see a step I missed in this process, or if you can shed light on the permission issues that I may have, I would be grateful.

    To use this method in the reader a special right to form must be applied to the

    file and it cannot be done with Acrobat but with one of the LiveCycle

    Server applications, which are extremely expensive.

  • EXIT for Adobe Reader button

    Hello

    I really need to create a button of output for use in Adobe Reader. I use Adobe Acrobat and will use a javascript that works.

    My understanding is that Adobe does not have this feature. Could someone link me an official response/reason as to why it is?

    Also, if anyone has any ideas to work around this problem, please let me know. These PDF files are opened in a mode program full screen. A simple output, or even a button to reduce, would allow them to go back to the program. Now it closes only the document, leaving even Adobe Reader. Simply, it seems unprofessional and adds an annoying step to return to the program. Help, please.

    Thank you for your time.

    Where it is documented: http://livedocs.adobe.com/acrobat_sdk/9.1/Acrobat9_1_HTMLHelp/JS_API_AcroJS.88.143.html

    It makes sense, because a single document should not be able to automatically close Acrobat/Reader, which can have several documents open.
