Adobe Updater will not work w / Reader 9.3.1

Hello

Recently I was using player quite often, but noticed I can is out of date, because it comes back with an error message saying the firewall is blocking the update or update adobe server is down.  I worked with Symantec to uninstall my AV program that controls the firewall and try to update with no luck.  I'm on Win7 64-bit.  Call Technical Support to Adobe redirected me line here on the forums.  Can anyone help?

By chance, the Adobe Updater would stop working because I recently downloaded and installed a trial version of Adobe Photoshop Elements 8.0, as the update function works either on this one here.

Usually, when you uninstall Norton or Symantec Firewall (good choice, incidentally) the Windows Firewall is reactivated as part of the process.

Unfortunately, when this happens it resets all the settings for the Windows Firewall default settings and you usuallt have to go "re-" programs for accessing the web on an individual basis.

Open Control Panel > system and security and click on allow a program through Windows Firewall. Click on [allow another program...]

Go to C:\Program Adobe 9.0\Reader\AcroRd32.exe and click Open.

Adobe Reader 9.3 should appear in the list of programs.

Click Add and it will be OK (allowing the update too, no doubt) through the Windows Firewall. Click OK to close the firewall allowed window program.

Repeat the update.

    2 are you able to access all other websites properly on the computer?

    Windows Update will not work if the copy of Windows XP is not enabled on the computer.

    Type the command at the command prompt to find out the status of activation on computers below.

  • Microsoft Update will not work

    Microsoft Update will not run through Internet Explorer.

    I seem to encounter two different errors and there seems to be no trend about which error appears where or when or why.

    One is 0x800A138F: the site has encountered a problem and cannot display the page you are trying to view.

    I don't remember exactly what it was or said, but it was similar.

    I tried the solutions so far:

    -restart the computer, internet, etc.

    -added the Windows Update and Microsoft Update for Trusted Sites (I did years ago)

    -reset of Trusted Sites as the Internet zone settings

    -a attempted to run the windowsupdate.diagcab from here: http://support.microsoft.com/gp/windows-update-issues?wa=wsignin1.0

    As with many other users of this forum, I can't run this .diagcab file. Looking at the many messages on this file, no one has yet solved anything. It seems that Microsoft has yet to recognize or acknowledge that they're providing a tool that is unusable. I hope I've provided enough information to lead to a resolution. I also sent a report through the Fix - It tool when it has not changed anything.

  • Updates will not work on Vista

    I am running Vista Home Premium and I can't run updates. Anytime I they download and install. After the reboot, they go through the Configuration 1, 2 and 3. At the end of 3 it is said complete and the system stops and restarts and goes back through the new installation. Shut up just. I left for hours and keeps it just loops. Any ideas?

    Restore point:

    Try typing F8 at startup and in the list of Boot selections, select Mode safe using ARROW top to go there > and then press ENTER.

    Try a restore of the system once, to choose a Restore Point prior to your problem...

    Click Start > programs > Accessories > system tools > system restore > choose another time > next > etc.

    If the above does not work, try to make a Bootable ERD to do a Startup Repair:

    As is the case with most computers/laptops these days, they do not come with good Vista disc to repair only the recovery disks.

    As your falls into the above category: download the ISO on the provided link and do a repair of the disc.

    Go to your Bios/Setup, or the Boot Menu at startup and change the Boot order to make the DVD/CD drive 1st in the boot order, then reboot with the disk in the drive.

    At the startup/power on you should see at the bottom of the screen either F2 or DELETE, go to Setup/Bios or F12 for the Boot Menu.

    When you have changed that, insert the Bootable disk you did in the drive and reboot.

    You can do a system restart tool, system, etc it restore.

    There is not a disk of resettlement.

    And the 32-bit is what normally comes on a computer, unless 64-bit.

  • Update will not work

    I tried the trial CC CC in Photoshop, then I decided to pay the subscription of photography and have had now with Lightroom for ten days. Whenever I turn on my CC computer tells me that I have updated. These are throughout the full 30 day trial too, and whenever I tried to update it just craps out and tells me that the download failed - EVERY TIME! I'M SICK OF THIS!

    The suggestion of 49 error on Adobe's Web site tells us to turn off antivirus protection and firewall and clear the Temp folder. WHY? How stupid are the programmers of Adobe? Why they can't get this update to work with running antivirus software or my temp folder which had all 72 MB of files it contains? IT STILL DOES NOT WORK!

    I want to be the notice to stop annoying me telling me that there are some updates that do not work or... the update to download properly WITHOUT disable me the anti-virus and firewall!

    HOW CAN I FIX IT?

    If it will not download from this link on your PC, try another and just use a USB key to copy on you and then run it. Once installed SP 3, and then the fun begins because there are about 100 + updates after her.

    Have you made changes on the computer before this problem?

    Not a valid win32 application"error when running an executable file suggests that the file is corrupted. It may have been partially downloaded for which the error is coming.
    I suggest to download the Service Pack 3 Setup program by using a different browser than the one you are using or in another computer that has the problem and try to install again by using the recently downloaded file.
    Please post back with the results so that we can help you further.

  • Vista Home Premium 64-bit: Side-by-side configuration incorrect, C++ Redistributable is not installed, programs will not install, Windows Update will not work.

    Greetings!  Please read this and thank you in advance for your help.

    A few months ago, I started to receive Windows Update errors, indicating that my Windows platform could not update itself.  Soon after, I started getting errors about C++ Redistributable does not install correctly.  It wasn't a huge problem for a while, and I managed to work around it.  However, my antivirus program is dead, and I'm unable to install a new.  When I try to install programs now, I get the error "side-by-side configuration is incorrect."  I would like to delete the manifest and try to reinstall the application, but I don't know where they are.  At least, it would be a start.  In any case, I am currently without virus protection.  Help!

    So far, I tried to uninstall the Windows updates, but I only managed to install the MS Office updates.  I have even office, although I understand that it is built into the operating system of our days.  I tried many different patches of a lot of different forums and nothing seems to work.  I would like to reinstall the OS, but I bought OEM (from Newegg) and do not have the disc.  I don't even have an easy backup, or even one that I know is 'good'.

    Borrow a Vista DVD and don't reinstall Option I gave you.

    Or borrow a disc and do a repair installation; It's your call.

    I tried to use Windows Update, and it did nothing.  I have the update for 2 hours and 11-day for my computer downloaded 0% 0%.  How can I get the update downloaded and installed?

    Ideas:

    • You have problems with programs
    • Error messages
    • Recent changes to your computer
    • What you have already tried to solve the problem

    Don't you worry in this regard at the moment, the servers could be a little overwhelmed. It will download when the servers are not so busy.

    There are quite a few updates coming through this month and a lot of people to distribute updates.

  • Updates will not work as C drive is full and I can't find out how to change the default drive?

    My "C" drive is it is full and I don't know what programs and files should be able to uninstall unused programs. Those that I was able to uninstall I was doing ground but that's left, I don't know what are the components.
    This has affected security downloads and as a result, I am currently without protection.
    The Firefox version I'm currently using is 40.0.2 as the update might fail for lack of room.
    How to fix this and get my computer working properly / so far, I am at a loss?
    Is it possible to move the programs to other readers?

    You must ensure that there is enough space on the Windows system drive (drive C) to ensure the proper functioning.

    You can check if you can move (uninstall and reinstall) some programs in another drive and possibly move on data as well.
    You can also check the Windows temp (% RPM, variable environment % TEMP %) to see if you can clean up files there.

    You can perform a custom Setup with most programs including Firefox to specify the installation folder.
