Adobe XML Dynamic vs static pdf

I created a form with the lifecycle of the ES2 Designer, with actions.

Once saved as Adobe Dynamic XML (pdf), it works perfectly, however the file size is about 1 MB.

When I save it in static PDF, the file size is reduced to 195 k, but the actions don't work anymore.

I need the size of small file because these documents opens on mobile devices. Is it possible to have the best of both worlds here?

Either PDF static with job actions, or dynamic XML with a small file size.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thank you

The problem is with the fonts used in the PDF file. You have used, Impact, Calibri, Courier New, as well as Myriad Pro native police.

Because you used other than native fonts, the form is default incorporating these additional fonts in the PDF.

Probably one of the police taking the size of the PDF file.

You must change the font Myriad Pro or Arial which is light. (OR) you can make an image of the wording of policy Impact ("Notice of Violation" and "officer's report must be sent within 24 hours Security Office") and use it as a picture inside the PDF file.

To remove an option Embedded fonts, goto file-> properties-> tab menu in Options.

Here is the form with the Embed fonts option UNCHECKED. (54 KB). But the special fonts may not display correctly.

I hope this helps.

    Not sure I follow what you mean by a java api... But if you want to convert it to an XFA form (complete and generates XML data) then you can import in LiveCycke Designer. The original format has no concept of a field for once you have the form in the designer, you can ask fields on the top of the form where they need to go. There is a tool in Acrobat that will try and detect where fields should go and it works very well on your form. To do this open the form in Acrobat, and under the forms menu add / change fields. A willingness to dialog pop up to say that there are no fields on the form you want to detect. Click Yes and let the full wizard. Save the form, and then import it into the designer and the fields will be converted to the XFA format for you.

  • Adobe LiveCycle dynamic XML forms & Apple iPad

    Adobe LiveCycle dynamic XML form are visible/usable by Apple iPad and phone from Apple or other mobile devices?

    According to Adobe, you can with LiveCycle ES4. At least that is my interpretation of their blog post on the support of ES4 Mobile Forms.

    Of course, there were several discussions on this subject in the Adobe forums.

  • Dynamic fill a PDF form?

    I created a form in InDesign that I use in my daily work - it has several fields that contain information about the problems, I'm currently trying.  This information comes from a system internal owner that I have access to via JDBC, SQL, languages, etc.  I would like to take my InDesign document, create a PDF form with her, and then have new PDFs generated automatically with the data provided by our own database.  I can handle 90% of it, but end Adobe it's confusing and (frankly) a bit frustrating.

    I can do a static PDF from InDesign very well, but how do I create a PDF file that is supposed to be completed at a later date using external data?  I can put it any format - XML, CSV, anything you want.  I don't want to launch InDesign every time I want to print a new form.  Launch of Acrobat would be nice, if not optimal - at least in Acrobat have not be careful not to spoil the source document.

    I'd love it if Adobe provided a way (out of the cycle of life - I don't have the money for it) to automate this fully in the CreativeCloud limits, but I'm more than competent with to out if programming environments that will be necessary.

    Can someone give me some guidance with this?

    You have two options that I can see.

    1 - completely to InDesign using their feature of variable data and support for XML input.

    2. create an interactive PDF form using InDesign, and then either manually or automated have Acrobat import (XML or CSV) data in the fields

  • Change the color of a check box for a static PDF checkbox control

    Hello

    I don't know if it's possible, but I can't change the color of the box of a checkbox in a static PDF.  It works fine if the PDF file is dynamic, but it craps on when the PDF file is static.

    Is there a solution?  I don't have to change dynamically based on the interaction of the user, the client wants to just a blue tick in a static PDF.  Anyone with the same problem?

    VNAME var = this.somExpression;

    var fieldObj = xfa.resolveNode (VNAME + ".ui. #checkButton");

    set a variable to deal with the color of the tick

    var myTick = event.target.getField (this.somExpression);

    myTick.textColor = color.blue;

    fieldObj.mark = "check";

    It works when rendered to PDF dynamic, but myTick is always null when it is rendered in the static PDF form

    See you soon,.

    Nelson

    You can change this by editing the XML source.

    Add the part to the source of the checkbox.

    Thanx, Paolo

    I think for better control over XML you need of a XFA form with all its strengths and its limitations. AcroForms can have names like this: subroot1.data3 which would give

    ... that could be handy to transform. Specification of XFDF here: http://partners.adobe.com/public/developer/en/xml/XFDF_Spec_3.0.pdf

  • How can I embed XML data in a PDF file?

    I want to embed XML data in a PDF file if the file can be scanned for data behind the document. Is there a standard way to do this?

    For example, if the PDF file is a bank statement, the embedded XML would be his number and bank account balances. He would not understand the standard text in the statement such as the name of the Bank, etc.

    I read about the XMP specification, but this seems to be more than the document metadata (title, subject, etc.). And it contained are tagged but it's a different view of the entire document.

    ??? -Thanks - dave

    Although the XMP block are stored in XML format, you can just embed any XML file. The block must follow the standard, which means that each data packet must be defined in a schema - as the name suggests, XMP is extensible, you can set the new scheme for local use, but you can't mess with standard seals and add random new tags. The schema itself is not embedded in the file, it is referenced by a unique ID number and URI. of course have a lot of data in a custom schema does not mean that any software will see it - advanced search of Acrobat can be said to sweep the XMP block, but the search engines only tend to bother with tags such as "title" and "description".

    To see what is currently in a PDF file, open Document properties > Description > additional metadata > advanced.

    You can save the current XMP block in a text (.xmp extension) file and replace/add other files XMP. If you click on the 'i' icon in the upper right corner of the Advanced dialog box, you can access the system profiles - these can be created in other applications such as the bridge, but there is no Manager profile in Acrobat itself.

    For more technical information on the use of XMP and creating new schema, see http://www.adobe.com/devnet/xmp.html

    Note that the XMP SDK for CS6 does not work in the Acrobat family.

  • Add static pdf page to the LC live shape?

    I have an extensible LC multi-page form.  It works fine for several months, but now I have to climb two pages of static pdf at the end.  It's so easy to do in Acrobat, I assumed that this would be true in LC, but I did not understand the combination. Can someone point me in the right direction?

    Hello

    One possibility would be to recreate the static content in the designer of the LC, rather than trying to import the two pages of the PDF file.

    You can also follow the advice of Jono on http://forums.adobe.com/message/2004818#2004818.

    Finally, if you open the static PDF file in Acrobat and export the two pages for JPEG files. Back in LC insert two new pages and drag in an objact image and link each URL (click on embed) for JPEG files.

    Good luck

  • Dynamic to static IPSec with certificate-based authentication

    I apply the settings, and nothing happens.

  • KeepAlive to restore a dynamic to static tunnel?

    Hi all

    I have a dynamic to static 501 501 configuration of operating system 6.3 pix pix. I would use KeepAlive to re - establish the tunnel where the tunnel down. Is this possible?

    Theres a workaround for any solution, you have the pix to the extreme end use a local ntp or server syslog, this traffic would bring the tunnel upward, as it has been defined as interesting.

  • VPN site-to-site dynamic-to-static

    Dear

    I have a few sites already connected with ASA 5505 VPN site to site with both ending static IP address.  Normally, all traffic can be found without any problems.  Even, I used 'inside access management' for the two ASA.

    Now I have a new office with only the ADSL pppoe.  I used to install between Site B:remote the site dynamic IP and IP SiteA:static with a similar example of this easy VPN: http://www.cisco.com/en/US/products/ps6120/products_configuration_example09186a00805733df.shtml

    All my ASA 5505 run 1 8.4 (4)

    Site A - Static IP

    Site B - Dynamic IP with pppoe connection.

    After EasyVPN connected, I don't know how I remote manangment of the site a lan at the ASA 5505 B site?

    Best regards

    Alan.

    If you're ok with or the other solution, it is probably easier to use dynamic to static lan-to-lan, so, at least, that your solution is consistent and fair use lan-to-lan tunnel instead of customer vpn solution mixture and lan-to-lan.

  • Dynamic to static L2L IPSec VPN

    Hello

    I've implemented a dynamic to static IPSec Site to Site VPN between a branch (ship) ASA5505 and headquarters. Now, this solution does not allow HQ initiate the IPsec connection.

    There is a router behind the ASA5505. I heard that if I want to keep the tunnel upward, so that the HQ customers can switch the traffic to remote clients through the tunnel, I would need to run ALS IP icmp probes on the router behind the ASA.

    Could someone explain how to implement it?

    Thanks for your help.

    Frank

    The ICMP probe can be done through any device that is able to do ping, not only of the router.

    The reason is that it is interesting traffic triggers the traffic is encrypted by the vpn tunnel, tunnel will stay up, so you will be able to open the connection to the AC to your remote site.

    Hope that helps.
