System Machanic 6 has detected that a file Advpack.dll was spyware on his deep optimization of Start Up procedure. However, Windows replaced after its deletion and I ran SM6 Pro again. This time he ignored the file.

CONCLUSION: There are maybe a program that replaces the Advpack.dll real with a fake spyware Trojan. Perhaps in one of the free SP2 packs on the internet or another program. Here again, it may be a fault with Spyware detectors.

As long as the file is replaced by Windows automatically, so there is no real problem, and we can thank God for the major spyware removal programs.

  • Compatible Windows XP & Windows Update issues from July 2010

I am a technician in a company working with point of sale systems, and we quite regularly do the format / reinstall of Windows XP on different computers.  Since last week, every time the update to a new installation of XP SP3 using Windows Update, Windows and Internet Explorer have errors after the first batch of updates and reboot.  When Windows starts, an error box will appear that says something about an advpack.dll error.  Then, when you open IE, it loads the homepage correctly, but if you try to navigate to another Web site he returns the error "the requested lookup key is not found in any active activation context". I googled both of these errors and have found at least a partial solution to the latter; by setting the IE on the Windows Update home page, you can get the rest updates needed to make IE working again.  However, this always leads to problems with the software that we use, it is based on IE for some of its features.

Someone met these issues with Windows Update recently?  And are there solutions?  This makes my job extremely difficult.

Before anyone asks, I have experienced these problems on several computers (4 or 5 so far), and using at least two different copies of XP, it a regular retail SP3 install disk and the other an OEM SP3 disk.

I realized that if I download IE8 with the first batch of updates, I avoid the problem.  IE8 has apparently struck in the queue of priority on Windows Update to where he tried to install IE8 first, then a few fixes for IE6, which crushes IE8, make a mess of it all.

  • Error: 80070426-Windows Update may not install as Cryptographic Services does not start.

    Hello!

As you can guess Windows Update is not installed for a few months. Cryptographic services does not start . CPP is the beginning.

    Error: 80070426

Already tried a few suggestions MSKB.

Method 2: Set Cryptographic Services to automatic, network logon. Result: Error (unsigned) 1083
Method 3: Rename the Catroot2 folder
Reregister DLL files that are associated with Cryptographic Services.
However, suite couldn ' t be installed.

    regsvr32 initpki.dll
    regsvr32 gpkcsp.dll

    regsvr32 sccbase.dll
    regsvr32 slbcsp.dll

DCOM service - access denied when running.

sfc/scannow couldn't fix some corrupted files.

Computer HP laptop came with Vista pre-installed, so I do not have the repair disk.

No doubt the system restore won't help, as I remember recently that c-Cleaner wiped the old restore points.

NOD32 Antivirus + Spyware Doctor still running. Already run MSRT and Super Spyware, but nothing much.

    Kindly help!

    Kind regards

    Satyajit

Finally, I worked it out myself. But it's painful to watch than virtually any other that Uday has responded to my problem. Something I've been waiting for so eagerly.

I applied my common sense and defragmented the dirives then sfc/scannow, and it worked. Cryptographic Services said when I began to log in as network account. So my problem is solved. Now, windows update works fine.

Interestingly, Microsoft Fix it, says it cannot start the Cryptographic Services. Are God, while the _____ you supposed to difficulty? It made Internet Explorer icon on my desktop and other places.

  • How can I fix Jscript - Windows XP, IE 7

Error message "Jscript is not configured correctly. "Repair and try again" when you try to install Adobe software. Windows XP service pact 2 and Internet Explorer 7.

Error message "Jscript is not configured correctly. "Repair and try again" when you try to install Adobe software. Windows XP service pact 2 and Internet Explorer 7.

Open the Registry Editor (start - run - Type "regsvr32 jscript.dll" - entry.) This solution is for you to re - register the dll file).

Of course you can also fix this error by yourself. Please organize these command lines to make a line (Repair_IE.bat) batch and then run it.

  • recovery system does not open

When I click on the recovery of the system, it does not open.  I am running windows xp professional 2002.  I tried to update, but it freezes when trying to install the program active x.  I tried to run it, rundll32.exe advpack.dll, LaunchINFSection % Windir%\Inf\sr.inf too, but I don't have the disk to install xp service Pack 3.  I think it was a downloaded update so no disc.  If at this point, there is no way for me to do a restore of the system if necessary and no way to get the updates even if they are set to auto.  I also scanned for a virus that found nothing.

Hear you the system restore will not launch at all or it does not start, and you see just a blank white screen where the calendar should it be?

It is not difficult to reinstall the system restore (not reinstalled XP - only the part of SR), but to see how this other idea it works.   Reinstall SR will destroy all your old Restore Points and leave you with an another fee.

It is easy to reinstall the system restore.  Here's how:

Assuming that your XP is installed on drive C of your computer:

As you go through the reinstallation of the RS, the resettlement will be asked to locate certain files as you go along and ask your XP installation CD.

If you do not have a genuine XP bootable installation CD, you can change the path where Setup looks for files one at a time, because they are needed.  More on that later.

Navigate to c:\windows\inf, and right click on the following file:

    SR.inf

    Choose Install

If you can not see the sr.inf file, set up your system to show hidden files and show file extensions.

Click on tools, Options, view and turn on "Show the hidden files and folders" and uncheck "Hide extensions for known file types", then you should be able to see the file c:\windows\inf\sr.inf.

Installation can request files from the c:\windows\inf\386 folder.  It would be your installation CD bootable XP genuine if you have one and the Service Pack installed on your system must be the same as the CD that you will use.

You don't need absolutely a CD to do the reinstall SR because files must already be on your system somewhere if SR was working before.

If you are prompted for a file, and you can't find it where I suggest in my example below (it works on my system), you need to search your hard drive and find where the files on your system.

If the request to a file and you don't know where it is, let waiting for installation and click Start, search, then search for the requested file and find it on your system.  If SR has already worked before, the file is already on your system somewhere.

Search finds the requested file, go back to the installation and specify the path where you found the file requested and click OK.  Installation can request several files along the way, but you can find them all.

If you still can't find the files, let us know what is the file you need and someone can download on his SkyDrive and you can download it.

Here's how my system works when I reinstall SR when I pretend that I don't have a genuine XP bootable installation CD:

    When you are asked:

    SR.sys

    Point the install in c:\windows\system32\drivers

    When you are asked:

    c:\windows\system32\srclient.dll

    Point install it in c:\windows\system32

    When you are asked:

    Filelist. XML

Point of installation at c:\windows\system32\restore (or c:\windows\ServicePackFiles\i386)

    If asked:

    xrstrui.exe

    Point installation c:\windows\system32\restore

    When you are asked:

    srframe. MMF

    Point installation c:\windows\system32\dllcache (c:\windows\system32\restore)

Once installation is complete, you will receive a message that you must restart your computer.

Restart your computer and look at your schedule of SR.  You should have a new point system control in your calendar.

Now is the right time to test your system restore process, from one end to the other.

The day that you think you have need of system restore is not the day, namely that it does not.

Reboot your system and without anything running (no browser, Outlook, etc. - just the basics), manually create a new Restore Point, restart your system and see if you are able to restore your system to the Restore Point, you just do.

  • Windows XP suddenly shows not authentic

I know there have been other discussions on this, but could someone help me please?  I installed the windows updates today (about 25 of them) and when I restarted the computer it is a black screen and says that my copy of Vista is not authentic.  I assure you that it is authentic, and I have the product key at the bottom of my laptop I could fix if it would provide a screen that would let me!  I ran the diagnostic tool for MGA and this is what he says:

  • Unable to connect to the internet after the removal of system tool virus

A computer running Windows XP Media Center Edition Version 2002, Service Pack 3 has got a virus System Tool which I believe I deleted using the key of activation and then run Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware.  On reboot, the system tool icon was still in the system tray, so I ran Norton 360 to remove unwanted registry files.  He got rid of the icon in the system tray.  I also then removed the Malwarebytes software.  Please note that, while I was removing the virus, I was able to connect to AOL so that in mode safe mode with networking.  Finally, who has stopped working.  The Malwarebytes software has been downloaded on the infected computer with a flash drive from a computer with working internet.

I cannot now connect to the internet with Internet Explorer 8 or AOL (under standard or secure modes).  When you are trying to connect with IE8, the message reads 'Internet Explorer cannot display the web page' and when I run the diagnostic tests, it indicates there is a problem with the modem and/or router.  These devices are, however, both the work that there are other computers connected to them and they work.

I tried Microsoft solutions are answers to a similar question.  Unfortunately, none of them worked in my situation.  They have been in accordance with the following:

    No doubt...

What happens when you try to connect to the Internet?

What is your version of XP, the version of Service Pack and IE?

What method did you relieve your system of affection 'Antivir Solution Pro' (how confident you are that you got rid of him)?

Generally, any part of this procedure is necessary after removing Antivir Solution Pro (a well documented removal procedure would have included the steps to cancel Internet connectivity issues).  I would get my infected system and try the procedure you used to see how it works.

If, when you try to connect with Internet Explorer, you see something like:

Internet Explorer cannot display this webpage

    The most likely causes:
You are not connected to the Internet.
    The Web site encounters problems.
There could be a typing error in the address.

We will check your network connection properties.

Some malware will alter these settings and your anti malware software can't tell if you have changed the malware changed them or so, after removal of infections, it will leave just the settings as he finds them (it is usually a good thing), but can leave your Internet disabled in certain situations.

Click Start, run and enter in the box:

    Inetcpl.cpl

Click OK to start the network settings of Internet control panel applet properties, connections.

Or, in Internet Explorer click on tools, Options, connections, LAN settings.

These settings control your Internet access for all browsers.

On most environments, not independent, there will be check automatically detect settings and the other boxes are (as Proxy Server) is disabled.

Automatically detect the setting checked =
Use the automatic configuration script = unchecked
Use a proxy server for your LAN = not checked

Make changes, then click OK, OK to save the settings.

Check your settings for how your network adapter gets its IP and DNS settings.  On most home systems, these parameters must be defined for the system will get the settings automatically.

If you have another system on your network that works, you can compare these settings with the settings of the system which is not a work and make adjustments.

Click Start, settings, Control Panel, network connections, and then select your current network connection.

On the general tab, click Properties.

In the drop down in the Middle, find and highlight the selection of Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) and click Properties.

In the Internet Protocol Properties window, the usual selections are to get the IP and DNS settings automatically.  Select the following two options:

    Obtain an IP address automatically

Get a DNS server address automatically

The rest of the options on the screen should then be grayed out/not available.

Make changes, then click OK, OK to save the settings.

Restart your computer and test your connection.

Perform scans for malware, and then fix any problems:

Download, install, update and do a full scan with these free malware detection programs:

    Malwarebytes (MMFA): http://malwarebytes.org/
    SUPERAntiSpyware: (SAS): http://www.superantispyware.com/

They can be uninstalled later if you wish.

Also, I typed cmd in the start run box and the command-line entered ipconfig enough and ipconfig/renew.  This is also not rectify the situation.

For your assistance, the following is a copy of a part of the file that I thought that may be applicable after that I typed in miscinfo32 in start, run box:

You have any ideas that could help me find an internet connection?  Thanks for any help.

The removal of the virus seems to have taken some required system files.  See if the System File Checker helps.  Click Start > run and enter in the field open.

    sfc/scannow

Press ENTER.  The System File Checker must detect the missing necessary files and put back them.  If this does not work, use a system restore point from before you were infected.  If this does not work, get out of your XP installation diskettes.

  • Can't preform the XP system restore. System Restore is turned on but never successful when he preforming.

Remember - this is a public forum so never post private information such as numbers of mail or telephone!

Ideas: my system restore worked correctly for a while now.  I have not installed new software or hardware.  My HP printer has ceased to be able to Scan at the same time that the system restore stopped working.  As far as I know it was when I got a big update from Microsoft.  Appreciated all help thanks

    Hello

You can try to reinstall the system restore by clicking Start-> Run-> then copy and paste this command into the text box:

    Rundll32.exe advpack.dll, LaunchINFSection, %Windir%\Inf\sr.inf

and then click OK. You may need your Windows XP CD handy. Insert it when / if necessary.

Here are other steps that you can try when System Restore does not work
