AE4: real-time audio

I imported an audio file in my calendar.  When I select the RAM preview it will play the song from the beginning, but how can I play the song in real time in order to change and synchronize words with the video?  I want to pass the bar of chronology everywhere and always to hear audio playback.  Not have to do a little adjustment, start the song from the beginning and wait until he gets to the section I'm working on.

To read the audio data from the current-time indicator, press the period (.) key on the numeric keypad.

To scrub audio with ICT, press and hold the Ctrl/Cmnd rubbing.

  • Real-time audio processing, is it possible?

    Hello, I am trying to transfer my existing application of synthesizer for Playbook and I can't seem to get the audio streaming properly.

    I created a separate thread for my audio processing that basically contains the code of the example 'PlayWav' example but by replacing 'reading the file' at rather my function call process() to generate the audio signal.

    There are a few problems:

    1. constant underruns: if I just generate whitenoise with a simple rand() instead of calling my process() function, it works ok, but as soon as I ask him to do a little work, run the code from my synth, it falls to 10% signal / 90% against the recess time to stall. The function of process is demanding, but the same code works fine in ~ 5-10% CPU load on an Android equivalent.

    I tried the following command to increase the priority of the audio thread, that didn't seem to do much, but it does return any errors either.

    static pthread_attr_t s_AudioThreadAttr;

    int nPolicy;
    sched_param_t sch_prm;

    pthread_attr_init(&s_AudioThreadAttr);
    pthread_create(&s_AudioThread, &s_AudioThreadAttr, &myAudioThread, NULL);
    pthread_getschedparam(s_AudioThread, &nPolicy, &sch_prm);
    sch_prm.sched_priority = sched_get_priority_max(SCHED_FIFO);
    int nErrCheck = pthread_setschedparam(s_AudioThread, SCHED_FIFO, &sch_prm);

    2 sizes of buffers: I'm aiming for the treatment of low latency. The size of the fragment back to the pcm plugin info is thin (~ 15ms) but then there are the number of fragments returned by Setup of the plugin, which is really high. Here's the info printed by the sample code for my setup:

    SampleRate = 44100, channels = 2, SampleBits = 16
    Format Signed 16-bit Little Endian
    Frag Size 2820
    Total Frags 85
    Rate 44100
    Voices 2

    If I'm reading this right, it's 85 x (2820 / 2 / sizeof (short)) = 59925 samples for pads of frag... it's more a second, if I'm waiting for a complete buffer before playing. I'm not 100% sure what that means but if this will be allowed between presing a key and hear the sound, so I need to find another way.

    But there are apps that seem to play with little latency, so maybe I'm looking at the API.

    Can someone help me please?

    Sorry for wasting your time, the error was on my end. My service of process was left calendar synchronization in it from the last device that I wore on the code (it needed sync code because of the terrible latency) which was at the origin of the unnecessary stalls.

    The code example PlayWav works now my synth very well, without changes of balance or priority thread. In regards to the latency time, by adjusting the number of frags min - max of (1, -1) in this example (1,4), I get 15ms latency in 44 kHz stereo with no underruns, which is fine for now.

    Apologies again and thanks for your help.

  • How to transcribe audio streams in real-time text?

    Hello

    Currently, I listen to a live audio stream voice using Communicator Desktop WAVE on Windows XP. I want to use a voice-to-text application to transcribe this audio in Word or Excel in real time. I'm looking to reproduce the same experience as the direct subtitles on TV. I read that Windows is a speech recognition software and there are also 3 application of the part such as Dragon NaturallySpeaking. Is it possible to what I can achieve this?

    Thank you very much

    dambk.

    Hello

    The speech recognition software is not transcribe audio voice to text.

    You can search in your favorite search engine for the voice to transcribe text software.

  • Audio RAM not real-time preview

    I have an audio track in my project.  When I RAM show a preview of my computer, the sound is slower than real time.  When I double click on the audio file in the project Panel, a mini Player opens and reads the audio in real time.  Is there something I can do to get the sound to play real time for the RAM Preview?

    Well, it should play by all means in sync in real time. If it isn't, then soemthing is wrong. He plays in sync without applied effects?

  • Hearing feedback in real time program: hardware configuration

    We had access to a LabView (of another laboratory) program that records the sounds and gives audio feedback in real-time based on the analysis of the spectral structure of the input sound. The current combination of equipment that we have in our lab is the Daq 6259 PCI card and a BNC-2110 connector. The laboratory of donors had run a set consisting of PCI 6221 Daq card and connector BNC-2090. I'm studying the manuals for the four pieces of hardware to determine if our hardware configuration can be used with this LabView program. The main difference I found is that the connector BNC-2090 has DACout connectors, which lacks the BNC-2110 (my setup). I don't know if that alone will make it unnecessary for use with this LabView program.

    I continue my study of textbooks to go further, but it would be useful that some experts could give its opinion on it. In this way, I could do a faster purchase decision.

    Thank you!

    Hello Anand,

    2110 has analog output BNC connectors that expose up to 8 channels of analog output on your Data Acquisition device. Please take a look at the below picture of the BNC-2110 (page 3) user manual and following section which discusses the analog pins output BNC (page 6).

  • THUMBNAILS VIDEO DISAPPEARED AFTER THE INSTALLATION OF REAL TIME

    After you have installed the latest version of "Real Time Player" which is an upgrade to 'Real Player of cloud', all the video thumbnails are not visible on a single computer. 'Real time' has been installed on two computers with almost identical Windows 7 Home Premium and processors within minutes of each other.  A computer kept all video thumbnails while the other did not. So far I have uninstalled and reinstalled in real time, uninstalled and reinstalled Real Cloud, but still no thumbnail previews. I also tried the verification of the method 'display only the photos '.  I'm looking for someone who's hands are successful on empirical knowledge for this question. Thank you.

    Stanley,

    Here's a recent update on my original investigation.

    After an upgrade of RealTimes Player RealPlayer Cloud download failed to produce thousands of miniature video generated by RealPlayer cloud, I immediately started looking for answers in this forum of Microsoft.

    I have two new computers HP here on my desk. A computer has received the RealTimes Player download and continued to display thumbnails. This is the second HP computer that the thumbnails are not visible.

    Several answers to this problem repeated the same methods. I tried these methods more than once and still no pictures. Then I took action on your message and another someone from Real.com contact Real.com. The only way to contact Real.com was by email on their website. I sent them an email describing the problem. Now, it's my experience that Real.com has even good tech support for free download of RealPlayer. Their first suggestions were identical to the information I received Microsoft community. Following is a concise list of end to end on how I solved the problem before Real.com phoned for help, which may have included access remotely:

    (1) download the RealTimes Player "new" (that's their latest version of RealPlayer cloud;) I know now I should have stayed with cloud of RealPlayer).

    (2) a computer downloaded without any problems, while the second computer lost all thumbnails.

    (3) I contact Microsoft Community to get answers.

    (4) community Microsoft sends answers, including and meet someone from Real.com.

    (5) none of the above gives a solution.

    (6) I am Real.com e-mail for a few days through their website with no solutions.

    (7) I have uninstall RealTimes Player on both computers.

    (7) I call the HP Technical Support to make a 'system restore' on computers.

    (8) after the "System Restore", I reinstall MSE, and all thumbnails are restored on the computer and three external hard drives. All thumbnails are Windows Media files. None of the hundreds of RealPlayer Cloud files can be opened.

    (9) Real.com offers to call me at one time that I choose, which may include remote access to my computer.

    (10) I answer Real.com Friday that a time to call will be the following Monday.

    (11) the following Monday at the appointed hour, Real.com has not called. I waited 30-40 minutes. While I was waiting, I've been on the Real.com site read comments in the section "RealPlayer/RealPlayerCloud. In a response from Real.com Tech to one of the speakers, they gave to this speaker a link to download RealPlayer Cloud. I took a chance with this link and downloaded RealPlayer Cloud in my computer, not only did the Windows Media thumbnails remain, but I was able to play all audio Real Player and video files, and the "Download this video" button a drop down of RealPlayer has been restored. I turned so my attention on the other computer, clicked on a download link that says Cloud RealPlayer on Real.com Web site, and when the download is complete, it was the new RealTimes Player again, not RealPlayer Cloud. But, all right. All thumbnails are back in this computer while being able to play all Real Player files. Now, a computer has the 'new' RealTimes Player and the other has the original cloud of RealPlayer.

    (12) after all this was over, and two computers were back to normal, the representative of Real.com called (almost two hours late; he was on another call that lasted longer than normal). I explained that while you wait for him to call, I reinstalled Real Player on both computers and everything was back to normal. I mentioned reinstalling RealPlayer cloud on the other computer and it recommended that all was well under way, for whatever. I agree with you.

    (13) since the call of the representative, Real.com has sent me a couple of times and told me they were happy that the problem has been resolved and do not hesitate to contact them for any future problems. I asked for a download link for RealPlayer cloud which they sent a warning that they were not certain if the link has an expiration date, but to contact them for any problems or questions.

    (14) although I have Google Chrome on a single computer, all my audio/video download through RealPlayer Cloud/RealTimes drive is via Internet Explorer, not Google Chrome. I prefer the drop-down menu "Download this video" button at the edge of the screen in Internet Archive rather than the barely visible button at the top to the center of the page in Google Chrome.

    Microsoft 15 community) thanks and Real.com.

    (16) a lesson learned. When everything works fine, why switch?

  • Back to cache a sequence the old way. not in real time during the introduction of the cache

    Hi supports,

    I have problems of my sequences caching. As long the AE is always rendered images my reading is never in real time, it will be stutter audio until operations complete are cached. Makes me and my clients go nuts, so every time I want to playback of a composition, I manually turn off the audio, the cache of the sequence playing, which makes them note every time, "Oh a little slow" and "There is no sound" etc and I have to explain that his not playing not, just cached.

    I went back to the old way: Cache first before reading. The real-time playback + caching does not work...

    Also the 'working area of the Cache in the background "has disappeared... Why?

    And Im working on fast mac:

    CPU: 2 x 2.4 GHz Quad - Core Intel Xeon

    RAM: 48 GB 1066 MHz DDR3 ECC

    Boot SSD disk

    FusionIO Cachedisk

    My support is on a fiberstorrage Facilis (4K DPX real-time playback)

    If you have present clients, I totally recommend cache before play (like the old RAM Preview) option. Unfortunately, you can not have cache in the background (yet). I've linked the explanation in my response to your other post.

    Have you seen the preview videos or all the videos of NAB? The next version of AE wants to focus on the stability of playback, speed, etc. so it could get a little better. Acceleration using GPU for some effects (finally!) makes a big difference!

  • RAM Preview plays is not in real time on the new Macbook Pro

    Hello world

    I have problems getting after effects to play the video in real time in AE CS6. I use a brand-new Macbook 2015 Pro 13 "retina with a dual core 3.1 GHz processor Intel Core i7 and 16 GB of RAM. I just made sure my copy of AE CS6 is up-to-date with the latest updates (11.0.4.2), and yet I am unable to read the video or animation in real time using the RAM Preview to any size greater than 25% in the Viewer.  If I try to play a video clip of 29,976 fps, the framerate tops out at about 17-18 frames per second. When I press 0 for the RAM Preview, it starts caching the images such as normal, but even after a loop continuous cadence comes not near real-time. The audio plays fine, but the video starts immediately behind. I can't even a scene of simple great test of a form of retouching layer move on the playback screen in the real time RAM Preview.

    That said, I can get it to play in real time if I reduce the viewer up to 25%. But obviously, I won't be limited to work in quarter resolution on a new laptop. My last Macbook pro from 2008 and completely across the well treated RAM previews, being able to cache images and play them back in real time without problem.  I have to assume that there may be a function that I'm missing or something goes wrong, unless I just grossly overestimated the capabilities of my new laptop.  But surely, it should be able to manage simple video playback. I had no problem using first on this computer, then it can of course deal with the video.  Any help you can offer would be much appreciated, because this problem becomes really frustrating!

    Just for fun, try the trial of CC 2015 and see if it behaves correctly.

  • Video editing in real-time, is it possible?

    Hey all, first of all thank you for reading this post.

    I would like to know if it is possible to apply some effects (especially twixtor, some warp stabilizer, color correction) and see the result (perhaps at lower resolution, resolution 1/2, 1/4), without rendering, but the liquid (to check the image goes accordingly with audio, to see the speed change is control with twixtor, etc...)

    I have a laptop that is supposed to be powerful: i7-4800mq, 16 GB of RAM, GTX765M, and (perhaps it s the reason why I Don t see the expected result) a hard drive 7200 RPM (SATA 3 GB/s, with 64 GB SSD mSATA capture)

    I use the video recorded mainly a gopro 3 black and first pro cs6, sequelae. 1080, 60 frames per second.

    I want to change my computer because I have to do a lot of editing of short videos, a lot of twixtor and can´t waiting for renderize whenever I change something and the bar changes from green/yellow to red.

    I would like to know:

    -If it is normal, with my computer

    -If you intend to buy a computer, instead of asking which component you should buy part of (of course you can), what you think of these two:

    option 1:

    I7 - 4790 K 4.0 Ghz

    MSI GeForce GTX 980 Twin Frozr OC 4 GB GDDR5 V

    Motherboard: MSI Z97 Gaming ACK 9

    Hard drive:

    • Seagate Barracuda 7200.14 3 TB SATA3 64 MB
    • Samsung 840 Evo series of SSD SATA3 500 GB (250 GB x 2 In raid 0)

    Kingston HyperX DDR3 2400 16GB PC3 - 19200 2x8GB CL11 Savage

    Price: approximately 2100 euros

    option 2:

    4790 K I7

    2 x GTX760 2 GB of GDDR5 memory

    Motherboard: GA-Z97X-SLI

    Hard drive:

    - 2 x HDD 1 TB 7200 RPM Seagate ST1000DM003

    -2 x SSD 120 GB Kingston V300

    16GB DDR3 1600 MHz (2x8GB) HyperX blue Fury series HX316C10FK2/16

    Price: about 1600 euro

    I know that I can use proxyes, but I think proxyes with less resolution gives problems with the stabilizer of warp and with less fps gives problems with twixtor.

    Don't you think that I'll be able to do the video editing in real-time with these computers? Thank you very much!

    GoPro black 3 is very slow on CS6. Twixtor is poorly threaded and does not support CUDA acceleration.

    Re option 1:

    • The 980 is way exaggerated, a 760 is more than enough.
    • 16 GB memory isn't enough, you want 32 GB.
    • Forget the EVO. It's far too slow with the Scriptures. Get a 850 Pro.
    • Get a few more HARD and SSD drive to improve disk i/o.

    Re option 2:

    • A single video card is supported under CS6. Go on the other.
    • 16 GB memory isn't enough, you want 32 GB.
    • a single 120 GB SSD for media cache and previews is very low. Better to use 256 GB Samsung 850 Pro.

    With GoPro material and even with the improvements suggested (more memory, better disk i/o) that you will still experience slowness, jerks, unstable behaviour, because of the quad core CPU.

  • Loudness Radar can run faster than real time?

    My apologies if this has been asked before - I couldn't find an answer to a search.

    Loudness Radar can run faster than real time? Making sure that my levels is ready for dissemination of a television show, I'll have to essentially play through the whole thing to get a global level. Is it possible to have the Loudness Radar go on and give me a general level without having to hit 'play' and go away for a while? I'd like to be able to do in the first, but I'm fine with the export of hearing if that's what it takes.

    I've never had a problem with just dropping the main level (make sure that the Loudness Radar is set to post fader, btw). So in your example, Yes, I turn down the master by 0.9db.

    Speaking of which, my new faster way to manage the volume on the content of the longer emissions must export just the audio format .wav temporary somewhere, then load this file in hearing and its volume tool to know the LKFS level. Then, I take whatever number I get and set the main volume in first to do no matter what level the station/deaf network/tv customer needs. It's a heck of a lot faster, since the hearing can analyze loudness faster than real-time. On 30 seconds, commercials, using the Loudness Radar in Premiere Pro's no big deal, but dealing with half-hour TV series, with the help of hearing on export to .wav is much faster.

  • Is it possible to control my voice in real time in Soundbooth?

    Hi people!

    I'm new to the Adobe forum. I tried to do a voice-over in Soundbooth (I use a MacBook Pro and a USB microphone). I can do the voice-over smoothly (in terms of "functionality"), but I find the most distracting audio lag. I use headphones to monitor me. In the past, when I did the VoiceOver using analog equipment, I could follow in real time. It was great. But the digital shift, it is difficult to stay focused on what I say. Y at - it something I am doing wrong? What is the standard for digital audio recording? Is there, at least, some way I can minimize the lag?

    Thank you very much!

    VIC

    Hey Vic,

    I myself the Samson G-Track. As you'll see when it happens, it

    fact have a mic gain knob, and it's really effective. It's almost

    logarhythmic, to the extent where toward the higher end, a very small

    turn increase the gain a huge amount, and if you're not careful, you

    can enter the situation of clipping, which are unacceptable, always. Then

    simply, you turn down the gain, a very little bit, and try again.

    Sorry, attachments has not come through. I'll try again here.

    See you soon!

    I think it's because you 'Save the Narration' selected. In this case, I think you actually save in real time, where the inability to select.

    Normally, we advise people that the best results are achieved by treating your audio narration and your video action as two separate registration processes. But you are free to record narration as you go, if you wish.
