Aero Peek off but always display thumbnails of reduced emissions

original title: Aero Peek off but still makes me crazy!

I use a Windows Basic (non-aero theme) theme, and every time I fly over the buttons in the taskbar, a list of my open applications pop up for choose me a & then it opens.  It does not show a copy of the office as aero peek, just text.  The problem is that I'm constantly moving my mouse in the taskbar accidentally & the my applications open window covering up what I was trying to read.  Is there a way - by using a basic theme - to prevent anything like that in the taskbar of pop up unless I click (or right-click) top?

Thank you

Dave

  • Disconnected icloud, but always displayed photos

I used to have pictures enabled on my Apple TV and iCloud. However, he began to display some... personal photos and now I can't get down them! Ten of them are always displayed when the Photos app is hovered over. If I click on the application, or one of the pictures, I get a white screen no end with a spinner, which is good. But when I come back, these 10 pictures always appear at the top of the home screen.

    Things I've done:

Disabled the iCloud/Home sharing on my Photos app on my computer (where the original photos are stored)

Turned 'iCloud Photo Sharing' and 'My Photo Stream' OFF under accounts > iCloud on my Apple TV

Disconnected iCloud under accounts on my Apple TV

Attempted to connect to iCloud on my Mac in order to remove the images, but they are not technically on iCloud more

    Help, please!

I fixed it. Also, I logged on sharing at home on my Apple TV, and then I hard rebooted the Apple TV.

  • Aero Peek, Aero preview thumbnails do not disappear

Titles are always difficult, especially in this case.

The icons on the taskbar - when I hover over them, they pop up displaying the list of windows related to this icon.

Well, after that installation of Windows since long several updates, the list of "pop-up" doesn't go away when I stop hovering over him.

It's driving me crazy. I need actually to click on something in the list that appears before he goes. If I accidentally go over it while moving the cursor, then he overcome everything that I do until I get out of my way to select an item in the list. The list does not disappear when I click on a window, when I click on an item in the list.

To look into this further, I think that this only happens when I have enough windows open, but it could be that some windows that cause it to happen. I use these programs for a long time however, and they have never caused-for most things like Sublime text and Visual Studio 2013 Communityand a game or two. I'm sure this is a result of the update of Windows.

    George,

The term you want, it's Aero Peek [people often refer to it as Aero Preview as well].

I think that you will have more good users write down your question if you are using the question title - Aero Peek, Aero preview thumbnails do not disappear [just click on the link change under your question and it allows you to change the title].

Additional: You mentioned the updates, I think you should check for any updates for your display driver, as it seems a likely candidate for such a problem of display.

  • Windows 7 - Aero Peek window previews flicker when displayed not allowing not the window selection.

When I move my mouse over one of the icons in the taskbar much of the time it will not display the Aero peek for windows previews. When he does it usually blinks for a few seconds then does not appear. The odd time, keep it visible it will allow me to get an overview of the windows by bringing to the forefront through one of miniature windows flying over my mouse but when I click to select a window it goes back to what I was on earlier. In the case of multiple windows of the same type, for example to say Firefox and download manager in firefox by clicking on the firefox icon in the taskbar is nothing, until I navigate to and close one of the two windows manually. It became a major problem with my daily use of my computer so much so, in fact, that I returned to the use of Linux Mint during the bulk of my computer daily as it does not take me an excessive amount of time to navigate between windows. If anyone has suggestions as to how this can be fixed it would be much apreciated and would allow me to start using Windows 7 even more.

I tried to run the troubleshooter several times with no results yet. The driver is up to date and working properly, I tried unintsalling, restart and reinstall the driver 64-bit Windows 7, with no change in the problem. I can try a reinstall of Windows 7 because it won't cause a lot of data loss with separate OS and partitions of data.

  • How can I get the files to display an icon, but as a thumbnail photos?

I want my document to display as icons files, but makes all my photos are displayed also as a generic icon.  If I uncheck always show them icons, never thumbnails in the folder options and then my documents files show as thumbnails, and I don't want that.  Is it at all possible to display as icons of the folders of paper but photo folders to display thumbnails?  Up to two hours this is how my files appear (documents as icons, pictures as thumbnails).  All of a sudden, it's one or the other.  How can I get this back to the original way?

It goes to its strange, but I solved the problem.  I ran a cycle of repair Microsoft Office 2007!  Now, my pictures are back to thumbnails, while my documents remain icons.  I feel a bit silly for you put through that much trouble.  So my apologies and thanks for trying to help me.

  • "Aero Peek" selects windows on top, but after a second selected window is coming back, behind other windows. __

When I use Aero Peek and select 1 window to bring it over the top, he goes there, but after a second, he goes back and hides. Sometimes it is on top a little longer, sometimes it's on the top of page continuous, but especially it goes back bihind other windows. If, during the selection, I press the right button of pouts and use 'move' for selected window-, it helps. This problem mostly appears when I try to select the window which is not maximasied, while the other window/s are maximased.

    2. open Power Options then select the option to change when the computer sleeps.
    3. click on change advanced power settings, under Multimedia settings make sure that you don't have to stop the idling to sleep

    Hello

My first thought is there is a pilot number use this troubleshooting. At the end are methods to check if something interferes with Aero - look if necessary after the use of other methods. Check with the support of the Maker (manufacturer of motherboard for customized systems) system, online documentation and drivers, diagnostics and ask in their forums about known issues (those who are for embedded charts).

Also check the same resources for video device manufacturer, and if a there is a separate card, such as ATI, Nvidia, ASUS and other OEMs.

Also put update or re - install the latest video drivers.

Vista and Windows 7 updated drivers love then here's how update the most important.

This is my generic how updates of appropriate driver:

This utility, it is easy see which versions are loaded:

-Free - DriverView utility displays the list of all device drivers currently loaded on your system. For each driver in the list, additional useful information is displayed: load address of the driver, description, version, product name, company that created the driver and more.
    http://www.NirSoft.NET/utils/DriverView.html

For drivers, visit manufacturer of emergency system and of the manufacturer of the device that are the most common. Control Panel device - graphics card configuration-manager - note the brand and complete model of your graphics driver - double-click - tab - write version information. Now, click the driver update (this can do nothing as MS is far behind the certification of drivers) - then do a right click - Uninstall - REBOOT it will refresh the driver stack.

Repeat for network - card (NIC), Wifi network, sound, mouse, and keyboard if 3rd party with their own software and drivers and the other main device drivers you have.

Now go to the website of the manufacturer of system (Dell, HP, Toshiba as examples) (restoration), then site of the manufacturer of the device (Realtek, Intel, Nvidia, ATI, for example) and get their latest versions. (Review of the BIOS, Chipset and software updates on the site of the manufacturer of the system while there).

Download - SAVE - go to where you put them - right click - RUN AD ADMIN - REBOOT after each installation.

Always check in the Device Manager - tab drivers version you install actually shows up. This is because some restore drivers before the most recent is installed (particularly that audio drivers) so install a driver - reboot - check that it is installed and repeat if necessary.

Repeat to the manufacturers - BTW in the DO NOT RUN THEIR SCANNER device - check
    manually by model.

Look at the sites of the manufacturer for drivers - and the manufacturer of the device manually.

  • Aero Peek feature not available

I have two monitors and for some reason any when I upgraded to Windows 7 I lost the Aero Peek feature, that I really like.

Based on some excellent suggestions that I did the following:

    1. ran the Aero Troubleshooter and found the Advanced link and the box to the left in the 'ask repairs automatically '.

Result: He came back with a problem found "Desktop Window Manager is disabled".

    2 I did the following:

Locate the Desktop Window Manager Session Manager and double click on this service.

In the Startup Type drop-down, select the Automatic option.

In Service status , select the Start button.

    Press Apply/OK .

    Exit and restart the computer.

(I also tried to "Restart" the service)

Result: Aero Peek still does not work.

    _________________________________

New information (Finally, reorganized at least)

I had Aero Peek to work when I disable the driver for my other one.  I have my 2nd monitor hooked up with a USB to VGA and this is the origin of the problem.  My question is, can I buy another video card to get a 2nd monitor port or what I need to buy a video card with support for dual monitors and disable the built in video card?  OR is there an adapter that may make the Aero Peek feature back?

I downloaded the latest Windows 7 driver for the adapter, but it doesn't always.  The only way to get Aero Peek to work is to disable the driver for the second monitor.

If I go in Panel > appearance and personalization > display > screen resolution I see only a monitor (Samsung SyncMaster 933SNPlus) in the "View" drop-down menu does not show the other monitor.

I have the other monitor (Dell E176FP) is working on a driver that I got online.  If I in Conrol Panel > hardware and sound > devices and printers it displays an icon for the SyncMaster monitor but it shows TWO additional monitor icons.  They are the same and say 'Generic Non - pnp monitor'.

If I go into Device Manager and in the "Cards" section, it shows a "NVIDIA GeForce 6150SE nForce 430' and a ' trigger USB Graphics Chipset Family (1 P -E ) and a trigger USB Graphics Chipset Family (1 P -M ).

I don't know if this helps, but I'd like to get Aero Peek working again if possible.  Windows 7 is the best OS I have used and I can tell that a lot of hard work and great ideas will in it.

I tried all these things and more, WITHOUT success. HP help line didn't know how. Finally, on another chat site, I found the news that worked!  Go to the adapter in the Control Panel, Device Manager, display. I had 2 mirror drivers listed (the two HP RC - remote control, I suppose).  I uninstalled a (mirror driver right click, left click on uninstall), then restarted.  I got my Aero!  Yay!

  • Choose to display thumbnails on a folder-folder in seven?

In Windows XP, I could choose what files could display images as thumbnails. Is it possible under Windows 7?

In Windows 7 Folder Options, I see an option to "Always show icons, never thumbnails" but this seems to be a global option - all or nothing.

Windows Explorer does not 'Thumbnails' offer as a display setting in any window.

In addition, when "Always show icons, never thumbnails" is checked, the preview pane of Windows Explorer displays the icon instead of a preview (even if the Windows Photo Viewer is my default Photo Viewer.)

    RESOLVED:

Once more, the incomparable Ramesh Srinivasan (MS - MVP) comes to the rescue with a workaround.

In fact, it is not possible to display thumbnails on a folder by folder basis. (Why not, Microsoft?) However, it is possible to add thumbnails on or off in the menu, then the setting global always show icons, never thumbnails can be easily turned on and off.

"How to enable or disable this thumbnail preview quickly with the help of context Menu in Windows Vista and Windows 7"

  • When I open a folder of images, it no longer displays thumbnail previews of the images

original title: thumbnails not showing upward

For some reason any when I open a folder of images, it no longer displays thumbnail previews of the images. Instead, I get the generic pictures of a red & yellow flower or a lake and mountains. I did research online and found the problem, which was "Always show icons, never thumbnails" was checked in the control PANEL, OPTIONS of FOLDERS, thenVIEW. Once I found the problem, I disabled it and clicked on apply. But nothing. I restarted and it still does not display thumbnail previews. Last night for some reason, he began to build, but then stopped. So, although the "always show icons, never thumbnails" setting is not checked, it will still not display thumbnails. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Can you do a system restore and choose a date where you did NOT have this problem as your restore point?

    System Restore:
Start button > Search box, type system restore > press the Enter key > uac prompt > click on choose a different restore point > next > select dates as your restore point, until the click > next > finish
To sit and wait. The machine restarts when it's done.

Note: In most cases, do it in safe mode system restore is more preferable.
Here's how to get safe mode:

Shut down your computer > turn it back on and immediately and repeatedly tab key F8 until you see a black and white screen. The top/down arrow and select Safe Mode.

  • AERO Peek stopped working after a few adjustments with HP to get my Photosmart printer to work

I just upgraded a fairly new computer of mine from Vista to Windows 7 Professional.  The upgarde went well however the AERO Peek stopped working after a few adjustments with HP to get my Photosmart printer to work.  I tried to make the show thumbnails of running programs to display in the taskbar with no luck.  Any suggestions?

    Hi Lisa52465,

(Already responded to dadams26 in a separate thread and it fixed the problem beautifully).

Have you tried to run the Aero Troubleshooter? If this is not the case, try this:

    1. open the control panel

    2. go in the system and security category

    3. go to the Center of the Action

    4. click on the link to solve common computer problems

    5. click on appearance and personalization

    6. Select Aero

He must either correct the errors problem or the State to determine the cause.

If the Aero Troubleshooter is not the thing, maybe it's just that the Aero feature has been disabled by the update. Try this:

    1. right click on the desktop

    2 select Customize

    3. Select an Aero theme

    4 see if previews back

Just for the record, could you let us know if any of the suggested fixes works (and which). If you still have problems after trying the above, could you please come back with more details (if possible).
