  This update is 14.0.1 and a bug fix for number of problems disturbing especially for Mac users. It solves not all bugs that are new in this version - look here for the bug #2 and #3 which are not yet fixed (bug #1 is fixed I think): known issues in after effects CC 2017 and, hopefully, a bug fix for those who will come very soon.

  I have a 10 second Visual effects short file that was created in Adobe After Effects.

I actually had a problem with a crash suddenly and blackout of screen and other unusual tracks on this desk, until the February MS cannot install updates. what I've done, I've tried the [FSC.exe] System File Checker, see him through YouTube "how to use FSC,"...   After effects CC is much, much better handling of the characters that are outside the defined character used by the operating system to its current settings of the language. Thus, the file names and paths (and other channels) which operate very well in after effects CC and later may fail with older versions.

  For example, if you run your operating system and applications in English and Chinese characters in your file names, After Effects CS6 and earlier will fail, but after effects CC and earlier will succeed.
