[After Effects] Huge file size.

So I did the short video clip by using simple audio bars and a background. It is 03:58 minutes long in HD 1080 p at 30 FPS and has a gigantic 41.4 Gb file size. Its so big I can't yet play on my PC without it freezing half a second.

I'm not an expert but I know it's a file size large stupididly for the duration of the video.

So yes, no matter what way I can lower the size of the file to something under or arround 20 GB?

FAQ: Why my huge output file, and why didn't he play back smoothly in a media player?

  • AE CC Mac: After Effects collect Files do not collect files, including the project!

I need to send a customer projects collected, but the file > addictions > command collect the files does not collect some files (once the project has been reduced, so all files in the project are needed), including the project file!

I end up just with a record collected containing a 'Pictures' folder which includes some files and others not. This is a nightmare! There are hundreds of cases that will take days, I don't have to track down each file manually.

    Any suggestions?

    Hey everybody-

Running on Mac 10.9.5 CC 2014

I kept getting this error when you try to collect:

After effects WARNING: the file 'filename' could not be found.

So I know this is going crazy, but the problem was the mouse and a Wacom tablet. Whenever I gave him entry when he began to collect mistake like that. Then I tried to put in the wacom pen and clicking on save dialog enter and boom - worked perfectly. Really strange bug - I hope Adobe that address it soon. Accessories for chandra hope on creative cow to track down the problem:

  • Increase the huge file size.

So I've recently updated for first Pro CC 2015.3. I was doing a video which is 40 seconds long. The only thing in the video is the text and music. I exported using the same setting that I used in first Pro CC 2015. With first Pro CC 2015 the size of the file is usually around 200 MB. With first Pro CC 2015.3, the file size was 4.7 GB. I was wondering if there is anyway to make it back to what it was before. Thank you!

File size is determined by length, bitrate, and only two things.

If you want a smaller file, you'll need a shorter program, or a lower rate.

  • Huge, huge, huge file size

    Hello

I have a short 5 minutes, but when he made the file size is 799 MB. I know that this is not normal, but can someone tell me what I am doing wrong? I use the backup as a quicktime movie, with audio file (I'm using the Composition > add to make the thing only).

    Thanks in advance,

    Steven Raaijmakers

This file size is not that abnormal. I give out 10 seconds animations that are over 2 GB in size relatively regularly.

"Quicktime" is just a container, just as the format AVI is just a container. There are tons of possibilities of compression that it contains. What codec you are using and the codec settings all determine the size of your final video file.

In General, the best practice is to export a file without loss of EI (which will be large) and use another program to compress.

My friend Dave LaRonde of CreativeCOW.net explains why:

Do not use AE to compress files for final delivery. The different compressors are there only to make quick ' dirty n files showing the progress of a project for the producers, clients, children, etc.. AE is unable to do a multipass encoding, a crucial aspect which greatly improves the quality of the image of H.264 / MPEG-type of files in particular.

Make a quality of the AE file and use another application to perform compression. Popular are Adobe Media Encoder, Sorenson Squeeze, and compressor of Apple, which comes with the final cut Suite. Even compressed in Quicktime Pro is better that compress in AE.

Making good-looking compressed files is almost as much an art as it is a science. It is NOT simple at all.

There is even a dedicated compression techniques forum at CreativeCOW.net.

  • Huge file size savings advice of art in PDF format-

I have a file with several art cards with a large number of images of high resolution on each of them.  I need to save these files in PDF format individually (or two, three at a time) in my case, but when I do, the PDF size seems to encompass the entire file, rather than just the advice of art I chose to export.  For example, I have 10 Art tips, but I export only 1 work plan and 5 as PDF - my PDF file is huge.  But, if I had to create a new file with just the tips of both art and saved as a PDF file from there, the size of my PDF is about 20% of the size. Obviously, I don't want to have to recreate these files whenever I want to save as a PDF, that's why I wanted them all in a single file in a first time.

Any ideas on how to handle this?

Just these pages as PDF export and make sure that you do not check "Preserve Illustrator editing capabilities" in the PDF options

  • How can I reduce the size of file provided by After Effects?

When I visited a project of second 5 relatively easy in After Effects, the size of the file of the .avi resulting is 64 MB.  If I change the properties in order to reduce the size of the file, the degradation makes the unusable file.  What I am doing wrong?

Encoder AE is really otherwise ineffective?

The thing is, AVI doesn't mean much.

It's almost an empty container box, which does not imply a level of quality.

Thus, SOUL could default to something completely different as a starting point to produce an AVI file.

AE by default, when you pick up AVI as uncompressed video format. So, obviously this causes huge files sizes. There may be thresholds of similar quality with smaller sizes if you take other AVIcodecs, but that's another topic. And in all cases, when you went to a master of production quality, the file size is usually not your primary concern. You typically use this video high quality file as a source for flavors compressed for distribution. So, blank video files with huge sizes are a good thing - people then wonder why trailers at apple.com, for example look so good. And the thing is, more compressed formats greatly enjoy having an uncompressed source file.

Yes, about the effectiveness of the encoding, AE is less effective than the encoding solutions. First and foremost, because it does not support 2-pass encoding. Note that for some formats, 2 pass makes a difference of night and day, while for others, nothing as drastic as most users seem to believe.

This is a questionable for AVI point, because the default AVI codecs do not offer these encoding options, which are more in the domain of distribution formats such as FLV, MPEG-4/H264 or WMV.

There are codecs of distribution using AVI as a container there, but that's another matter.

  • PNG images are converted to the size of huge files

    Hello

I used InDesign and Word to generate subtitle images that I put then in first CS6 in the form of PNG images with alpha channel. So I have 800 + PNGs in a folder in my project, and I'm carefully their calendar on my video track as a base image. As I'm trying to change my project, I get a message no. hard drive space left. I check my HD and I went to have 600GB of storage to 100MB. I discovered that most (not all) of my 20-30kb PNG images have somehow converted into 2-4 GB a piece when the first is open! I have recorded the images so that they are open first to Kbs, and immediately I look all slowly convert them to these huge file sizes. Please can someone explain what is happening? And how can I remedy this situation?

I'm on a Mac OS X 10.10.5. Adobe CS6. The files are named "legends # .png ' if it makes a difference (so it's a bit like a sequence). My video is 45 minutes long with many discounts, graphics and audio samples at HD1080 containing approximately 8.5 GB media. The project file is around 53 MB.

I tried to use for the parser in the metadata tab for legends, but I decided against it, because I don't like the style and the lack of control of the legends in the first. I don't know if that has anything to do with it, but I get a message when I want to quit smoking that first is save metadata. 20,000 x it might first save metadata in each of my PNG images that would make is it original size? Help, please!

Thank you very much in advance for any help!

  • Sequences of images - they are heavy in file size? Alternatives to a Ken Burns effect?

We are building a digital magazine for a client who has about 50 performances. Each show has about 3-5 images which would like to see featured in Ken Burns style, a kind of zoom/pan slow and then it fades to the next image that also pan/zooms. This must be done in the background of any content above. My solution at the beginning was to simply do a sequence of images and have it loop. This allows me to have the content above as a MSO.

My application is currently to 212 MB with a bunch more pages before that... I wonder how much weighs image are sequences? If I had to do about 15 second sequence of images all the performance (there are 50 of them) it would be a huge file size app? If so, what are my alternatives to be?

Here is a screenshot just for reference... the image behind this content should be the "slides" - movement

Thanks a lot for any help in advance.

You should try rendering a video instead, and see if it works best for the size of your file. By rendering a video you could listen to from a server instead of having to cook in the folio.

  • After effects is stopped and cannot reopen the video files?

AE as forced leave itself and now will not open my video files because it says it's corrupt, even if she plays well in quicktime. I get this message: "after effects error: file 'MVI_9616.mov' cannot be imported - this 'MooV' file is damaged or not supported."

    What?

First question. Nothing has changed since this used to work? New anti virus software or update, update the driver, system, codec pack update? Speaking of system, what is your version of OS and AE. Speaking of AE version is up-to-date? If there has been no change, and ae is on the latest version, restart and try again. Try again with a different movie file.

If AE will not open any file .mov try trashing preferences. If this does not work, you will need to re - install.

  • reading files AVCHD in After effects CS5

I have After Effects CS5 and when I try to import AVCHD in my composition, it won't let me it is said:

After effects error: file *. MTS cannot be imported - this ".mts" file is damaged or not supported.

but I know that the file is very though I can play on quicktime and windows media player perfectly so I don't know why it won't work

    so to put it simply;

Why used my After Effects CS5 importing AVCHD / mts files?

It is from a camera not supported or something else happens on your system, in particular CoDec conflict. Eitehr way, you need to provide much more information.
