Huge, huge, huge file size

Hello

I have a short 5 minutes, but when he made the file size is 799 MB. I know that this is not normal, but can someone tell me what I am doing wrong? I use the backup as a quicktime movie, with audio file (I'm using the Composition > add to make the thing only).

Thanks in advance,

Steven Raaijmakers

This file size is not that abnormal. I give out 10 seconds animations that are over 2 GB in size relatively regularly.

"Quicktime" is just a container, just as the format AVI is just a container. There are tons of possibilities of compression that it contains. What codec you are using and the codec settings all determine the size of your final video file.

In General, the best practice is to export a file without loss of EI (which will be large) and use another program to compress.

My friend Dave LaRonde of CreativeCOW.net explains why:

Do not use AE to compress files for final delivery. The different compressors are there only to make quick ' dirty n files showing the progress of a project for the producers, clients, children, etc.. AE is unable to do a multipass encoding, a crucial aspect which greatly improves the quality of the image of H.264 / MPEG-type of files in particular.

Make a quality of the AE file and use another application to perform compression. Popular are Adobe Media Encoder, Sorenson Squeeze, and compressor of Apple, which comes with the final cut Suite. Even compressed in Quicktime Pro is better that compress in AE.

Making good-looking compressed files is almost as much an art as it is a science. It is NOT simple at all.

There is even a dedicated compression techniques forum at CreativeCOW.net.

  • [After Effects] Huge file size.

So I did the short video clip by using simple audio bars and a background. It is 03:58 minutes long in HD 1080 p at 30 FPS and has a gigantic 41.4 Gb file size. Its so big I can't yet play on my PC without it freezing half a second.

I'm not an expert but I know it's a file size large stupididly for the duration of the video.

So yes, no matter what way I can lower the size of the file to something under or arround 20 GB?

FAQ: Why my huge output file, and why didn't he play back smoothly in a media player?

  • Increase the huge file size.

So I've recently updated for first Pro CC 2015.3. I was doing a video which is 40 seconds long. The only thing in the video is the text and music. I exported using the same setting that I used in first Pro CC 2015. With first Pro CC 2015 the size of the file is usually around 200 MB. With first Pro CC 2015.3, the file size was 4.7 GB. I was wondering if there is anyway to make it back to what it was before. Thank you!

File size is determined by length, bitrate, and only two things.

If you want a smaller file, you'll need a shorter program, or a lower rate.

  • Huge file size savings advice of art in PDF format-

I have a file with several art cards with a large number of images of high resolution on each of them.  I need to save these files in PDF format individually (or two, three at a time) in my case, but when I do, the PDF size seems to encompass the entire file, rather than just the advice of art I chose to export.  For example, I have 10 Art tips, but I export only 1 work plan and 5 as PDF - my PDF file is huge.  But, if I had to create a new file with just the tips of both art and saved as a PDF file from there, the size of my PDF is about 20% of the size. Obviously, I don't want to have to recreate these files whenever I want to save as a PDF, that's why I wanted them all in a single file in a first time.

Any ideas on how to handle this?

Just these pages as PDF export and make sure that you do not check "Preserve Illustrator editing capabilities" in the PDF options

  • PNG images are converted to the size of huge files

    Hello

I used InDesign and Word to generate subtitle images that I put then in first CS6 in the form of PNG images with alpha channel. So I have 800 + PNGs in a folder in my project, and I'm carefully their calendar on my video track as a base image. As I'm trying to change my project, I get a message no. hard drive space left. I check my HD and I went to have 600GB of storage to 100MB. I discovered that most (not all) of my 20-30kb PNG images have somehow converted into 2-4 GB a piece when the first is open! I have recorded the images so that they are open first to Kbs, and immediately I look all slowly convert them to these huge file sizes. Please can someone explain what is happening? And how can I remedy this situation?

I'm on a Mac OS X 10.10.5. Adobe CS6. The files are named "legends # .png ' if it makes a difference (so it's a bit like a sequence). My video is 45 minutes long with many discounts, graphics and audio samples at HD1080 containing approximately 8.5 GB media. The project file is around 53 MB.

I tried to use for the parser in the metadata tab for legends, but I decided against it, because I don't like the style and the lack of control of the legends in the first. I don't know if that has anything to do with it, but I get a message when I want to quit smoking that first is save metadata. 20,000 x it might first save metadata in each of my PNG images that would make is it original size? Help, please!

Thank you very much in advance for any help!

  • Sequences of images - they are heavy in file size? Alternatives to a Ken Burns effect?

We are building a digital magazine for a client who has about 50 performances. Each show has about 3-5 images which would like to see featured in Ken Burns style, a kind of zoom/pan slow and then it fades to the next image that also pan/zooms. This must be done in the background of any content above. My solution at the beginning was to simply do a sequence of images and have it loop. This allows me to have the content above as a MSO.

My application is currently to 212 MB with a bunch more pages before that... I wonder how much weighs image are sequences? If I had to do about 15 second sequence of images all the performance (there are 50 of them) it would be a huge file size app? If so, what are my alternatives to be?

Here is a screenshot just for reference... the image behind this content should be the "slides" - movement

Thanks a lot for any help in advance.

You should try rendering a video instead, and see if it works best for the size of your file. By rendering a video you could listen to from a server instead of having to cook in the folio.

  • The file size is huge despite the linked files

Hi, I met a very strange thing.

I am just placing some raster files in my illustration. I have always used the link option, because I keep my files in good condition and I really like the small files. (The contrary would be the Embed option, which saves the content placed in the file have.)

But, despite a link to raster instead of embed files, my file have size gets really huge with the placed content. As a general rule, 80 MB with three raster images placed. It includes of course placed in any case files. And they are recorded in a sort of uncompressed format, too; the actual jpg file weigh only about 3 MB in total.

Even more strange is the fact that if I move the content placed outside my work plan, the size of the file down again normal values (usually 600 kB). Means that the file size is something to do with the preview of the file or something, which (I think) is limited to the artboard.

This has never been the case with Illsutrator before, has it?

Is this really how Illustrator should behave, or I have some very odd here?

InDesign handles content exactly how I like it: no incorporation of all.

It is the ability to save a PDF compatible file that incorporates the images.

  • 2015 CC 19.1.0: anyone getting the size of huge files even on base vectors?

After more than an hour with chat support I do not have an answer. I had made a few very small and basic flat icons for an InDesign document and noticed that the PDF has been exporting a lot larger than I expected. This is when I noticed all my files icon Illustrator were 600-700 KB each. I checked the files and there is no extra information hidden inside, I saved them once again with all kinds of compression/compatibility parameters passed around, saved as a fresh copies... nothing worked. Support had me trash my settings file and disable GPU performance, but the two did nothing.

During the conversation of support that I did a test of a simple black circle of 1 "x" 1 file and it saved 1.6 MB. What the devil? Cat of support received the same result on their end. normally I'd expect an output something like this file to be < 100KB.

My icon base coming to 652KB: https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/3235553/icon_education.ai

Out of the circle of test to 1.6 MB: https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/3235553/Untitled-1.ai

Yes, this is the expected behavior. As I already wrote: the color profile has 1 MB. That aside, and you get a lot less filesize. When designing for in fact generally pointless printing a color in a file profile HAVE.

Also: when there is work in the file, the file will get at least twice as large, because part PDF file contains as well. Please look at this subject files HAVE:

No, the many new features and services have nothing to do with it.

And no, a feature request cannot decrease the file size. Because everything is how it works.

Delete unused elements of brushes, symbols, graphic stlyes and swatches panels also will save filesize. There is even an action for it.

And maybe, there are a few options here:

  • Adobe Illustrator CS5 file sizes are huge!

    Try this:

    1. Open a new document in Illustrator
    2. create a simple box, black outline, white background
    3. Save the file
    4. looking at something like 1 Mb for these 4 units and the substantive definition and contour!
    5. now, back in Illustrator, downsave in Illustrator 3 format
    6. the file size is approximately 6 KB - much better!

Well, I know that we can disable the ICC profile, coating compatibility PDF etc, but none of this comes even remotely close to the 'proper' < 10 KB file size.

Come on Adobe, what are you going to put in this CS5 file is pretty darn important? This isn't an illustration of the complex with gradients, transforms 3D masks and thousands of points.

I understand, everyone has terrabyte drives and internet high speed. Is this a pretext for making really inefficient file formats?

  • Size of HUGE files

When I edit a photo in CS5 of LR3, files range from 25MB (RAW) to 250MB!  I don't know how to remedy this situation.  Any thoughts? Thank you!

RAW is a no rendered file so the file sizes are smaller. When you view the raw data in RGB color spaces, the file may grow in size. If you open the images in 8 bits/channel, they will be larger than than raw. If you open in 16 bits/channel, they will be much larger. This is normal and there is nothing you can do. Ideally, you want to keep your images in their State gross until you NEED the RGB rendered files-usually reserved for your final hero images. It's one of the advantages of Lightroom workflow.

  • The file size huge with save for Web, but an excerpt is ok

    Hello

I Googled, but not found anything about this but I have the same problem on my computer and also on colleagues from computer so it seems that it should not be completely unknown.

    That's what I do

1 open an eps file, the logo of a single color, the 72 dpi, size 110 x 21

    2 save for web

    3. Select png-24 format. Said overview file size ~1.3 kB

4 save-> actual size of the file on disk is 4 k (IE 3 times larger than it should be)

5 preview and click right then in the browser + save the image under gives correct the size of the file (on my colleagues computer, this does not work, it always receives the right size)

I also tried with gif and various settings, etc. image sizes and the result is the same.

I use Windows Vista 32-bit and Photoshop CS4.

    Is this a known issue?

    Thank you

so this is the metadata that are added, if you set the drop-down list of metadata to zero, you should get more small files

  • Huge Captivate files sizes

I have been using Captivate to push an audio recording of a presentation in the presentation slides. The audio is in the form of a large mp3 file. When adding audio, I selects the option to split on several issues and align all the slides in the right part of the audio. If I need to change the time drag or audio (which often happens because captivate seems to be rather buggy when split the single audio track into one for each slide) the Captivate project file as a result of the rockets in the size of the file. I think it's because he keeps a copy of all audio used in Captivate, IE a copy of old and new together, mp3 stream before and after editing.

If this happens a few times the file size increases accordingly and for a presentation of 50 min, I'm looking at 1.3 GB project files. These are clearly pushing my (powerful dual core, 2 GB of RAM) funds up to the limit. I tried to remove all the elements of the portion of the library, but this makes no difference to the size of the projects.

To illustrate the problem to my friend, I have EVERYTHING deleted from the library, has added 1 new blank slide and deleted all other slides. This project had the air is like a brand new white. When recording (such as a new cp file) the project was infact 1.16 GB in size. Huh?

Is it possible to delete the files of projects other than the library captivate?

Yes, I am using captivate 3.0, which is where I met the problem. I tried the technique ' save, save under ", which slightly increased the size of the file. The technique of the 'new presentation, copy paste' worked for me - 1.3 GB-> 0.3 GB.

Just open 2 instances of captivate, enjoying a nice big project at fault and the other open a new blank project. Then copy and paste all the slides of an inot the other. You may need to remove the first blank slide that was already in the empty project. Then save the new project and smiling like crazy in file size!

  • Huge file

I need to create a file that is l 24.5 ' x 1.5 ' h. If you where to create this file how do you go about it so it does not end one size huge file when you are finished.

I am not sure that 01:12 is necessarily the mind game. As a thumb is not itself subdivided into 12 parts normally in order to find a thumb can be difficult.

If Illustrator had developed the scale which would make sense, but it doesn't have such a feature.

I have half this size. It is perhaps more familiar looking.

  • Acrobat to print DC question. When you print all the pages in my PDF printer, Acrobat creates a HUGE file. Looks like it is including all the signature features.  How to disable this option?

When you print a simple PDF document on my printer (PDFXchange) PDF creates a huge file.

For example, I have a PDF without features signature inside. It is 723KB.

When I ask my CD player to print on my printer, it generates a file 19, 591 KB.

How can I avoid that my CD player to make these large files?

I think that it is related to the "Signature" whole feature that has been added to Reader 11.  Because before that, my impression works beautifully.

    Thank you

Sorry, would of noticed earlier that you said that you were using a third-party printer.

I think it's probably just a matter of settings, but if you were able to solve it by downgrading to XI, then this is good...
