  Hey, I'm a newbee in flash. I use Flsh cs5. I created a simple .fla file. But when I publish, .swf and .html file are not created in the folder.

  And when I test the movie (control-> test movie), it does not open any window to display the flash.

  Click on file/publish/formats settings, make sure that the swf and html boxes are selected, and click the button use default namespace.  then click on file/publish.  are the files in your directory with your fla?

  Otherwise, create a new directory (which has no subdirectory), save your fla to this new directory using a new name (it is, click File/Save as).  then click on file/publish.  see the new directory for your 3 files.

• Someone had a problem with images or objects in CP9 shifted after publication?

  I have two separate slides in which the elements are aligned correctly in the source file, but being out of alignment after that I published the file. Does anyone have suggestions as to why this is happening? Thanks in advance for any help.

  Is someone can you please tell me how can I create a link to the LMS captivate file.  Is it better to link the SWF or HTML file (or in this case, the full-screen HTML file)?

  I would also appreciate it if you could tell me why a single file is best either to link to LMS.

  I'm hopeful Rod Ward or Lilybiri will jump to offer more. But I understand that you really don't "bind" to what either of the LMS. The LMS is like a large database. You download your Captivate content in the LMS. The end user connects in the LMS and LMS, then presents the Captivate you downloaded on it.

  In General, if you had no LMS and were upload Captivate content on the web, you want to download all the output files (.) HTM. JS and. SWF) and then provide a link to the HTM file. The HTM file has sizing instructions presenting the SWF to the right size. In a situation of LMS HTM and JS files have additional code that allows the Captivate feed results to the LMS by establishing a conversation.

  I inserted a button and I have a valid URL link is entered in the "open URL or external file ', then when I previews with F8 for example I can't click my button and it will open the Web page in an external browser window. The problem is when I go and publish my project for the web as a Flash (.swf) file, and then open the published .htm page or .swf published when I try to click on the button, it shows only the cursor hand on my button and no action is performed when clicked. It is not yet open the browser at all, no new tab is opened in Firefox for example. I do not understand why it works when I Preview in Captivate 5 and does not work after publication?   I suspect that it is related to the character encoding used by the server to the html file. Please check this document to learn more about how you can set this right, information about the charset in .htaccess settings. Try to set the encoding of utf8 character set and see how it goes.

• A6 Missing slides after publication

  Hello.  Captivate 6 (with the latest patch) fails to publish all slides in a course. With each republish, different slides are ignored. Note that this same file of course published with success a month ago. The only difference was if the project has NOT used a playback bar - it had customized buttons next and previous. Buttons have been removed and the default playback bar is now in use.

  There are only 15 slides. The number of blades that appear after publication varies each time.

  After a postback, I was able to come back in the missing slide - and then he disappeared again.

  Details of the project:

  • publication in the SWF format (tried Flash 10 and 11)
  • No audio
  • no other imports (such as PowerPoint slides)
  • contains a few simple actions of art (show/hide)
  • contains a variable name
  • use animation effects
  • Some slides are hidden.

  Assuming that the file has been corrupted - I started a new project from scratch, simply copy the objects and the slide masters to the new project - exactly the same thing happened in the newly created project.  I also tried to use the playback bar different themes.  Nothing works. Help?

  If disappointing I have not received any comments or ideas about this problem. But I found the source of the problem on my own. For reasons that are not clear to me - some hides all slides banned from publication - or maybe they were editing but didn't were not accessible using these skins. For example, the skin "Arctica" created the problem.  When I use the default skin, all slides published and were visible.

  Through the main toolbar select: file-> settings of publication and in the first section (Formats) select the SWF and HTML (.html) options.  When you publish the fla, a html page will be created that contains the embed code that you can use.  The code may require including a with the html page's javascript file so that the integration to work properly.  It must be indicated in the code as well, and the file must exist when the code indicates (it will be created here at the time of publication).

  Hi all, brand new to Flash and I'm used to working with a model Flash written earlier. In this model, there is a search box. My goal is to get some someone puts in this little white search box on my Coldfusion page for further processing. I want it because I know nothing of Flash (yet) and want the variable I need to work with to leave Flash quickly as possible so that I can use it in Coldfusion where I am comfortable on a deadline.

  That proved to be the answer of $ 1 million. I came back to report when I read your explanation which reads verbatim what it is and how to solve it. I didn't know there was a tool to help establish a path within Flash, however, it's cool.

  My Coldfusion page now treats this Flash thing search requests with happiness.

  That I was (and still am) lack of understanding as a beginner, how to communicate the different parts of a flash project. Layers? Calendar? PUH-lease. I have trouble with Javascript and never even touched C, which are both the syntax of Actionscript of Flash almost.
