After update today no response from the computer after restart on June 6, 2009

Hello. I just, I was wondering if someone who has updated XP today is having the same problems. I have updated the automatic updater and restarted as requested. The box came but no response no matter what, as if the hd was fried. All my fans turn on but nothing on the screen my DVD players don't openand even as the lights of the habit of my keyboard lights still. Any idea would be useful.

Try unplugging al computer, power, cable make sure ther is not a CD or a DVD inserted and try again.
If you get nothing on the screen is it possible that you're computer has hardware problems.
Simply plug the necessary input devices and the power to run the diagnostic tests. (mouse, keyboard, scree)
I wouuld also suggest to perform a complete diagnosis of a bootable CD.
Your computer has an integrated video card? If you have an external disconnect and add plug the monitor cable onboard video card.

  • I deleted my phone after the backup of photos were also deleted from the computer and iCloud

    I have an iPhone 5 and after upgrading my phone and transfer pictures, my computer screen went to sleep while he was removing all transferred photos off my phone as I walked away. When I went back and opens the screen, deleting was stopped, and even if I tried to have the iPhoto to delete 517 photos that were transferred, it would not be. So, while my phone was still connected to the computer, I scored manually 88 photos on my phone, following on the computer, ensuring that each photo that I retreat the phone had been transferred to iPhoto. Then, I went in the "recently deleted" on my phone and deleted those as well, so they do not take place. When I got back to the computer for the next round, I realized every photo that I had just deleted my phone also disappeared from iPhoto! I even checked iCloud and they weren't there. How can I recover these 88 pictures I deleted from my phone and why the hell did remove it from the computer?

    These accidents were related to the corruption of memory (probably caused by a driver).

    Run these two tests to check your memory and find which driver is causing the problem.  Launch auditor.  You don't need to run memtest again unless the auditor is not the cause, or you want to.

    If you are overclocking anything reset by default before running these tests.

  • OfficeJet 5740: Cannot fax from the computer

    My new Officejet 5740, purchased on 11/15/14, worked fine until February 2015 - no problem with any of its functions, including faxes.

    That was all the time I went from a wireless connection to a USB connection and since then out of faxes cannot be sent from the computer, even if they can be sent from the printer by using the LED screen. There is no problem with the incoming faxes.

    Sending the printer with the LED screen is a nuisance of errors compared to the convenience of use of the computer. Lengthy discussions with HP Technical Support have been of any help. The technicians seem to think I should just give up and use the LED screen on the printer.

    After trying in vain to send an outgoing fax using the computer, the Fax status window appears saying "queue... "as the status of the fax, and it never goes one further.

    Is it possible that my passage in wireless USB connection type caused the problem? Maybe I need a different driver? If Yes, where can I download one, and what should I go for? Thank you.

    Welcome to the Forums of HP Support! I see that you are not able to send a fax from your HP Officejet 5740 computer, you can send a fax from the front panel.

    I think you just need to update the drivers and software, please proceed with the following steps:

    1. disconnect the USB key if you use a direct connection.

    2. remove the HP software JO 5740 uninstall from the control panel of your computers an option of the program.

    3. restart the computer.

    4. make sure that all them that software JO 5740 has disappeared from the list of programs, but also your HP folder listed under all programs in your Start Menu.

    5. now, go ahead and download the software and drivers for your JO 5740 (DO NOT connect USB until the software prompts you to):

    I suggest that you configure the computer to start in minimum mode, download the update from the Download Center and try to install the update.

    To perform a clean boot on a computer that is running Windows Vista:

    a. Click Start, type msconfig in the search box and press ENTER.

    If you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type the password, or click on continue.

    b. on the general tab, click Selective startup.

    c. under Selective startup, clear the check box load startup items.

    d. click OK.

    e. When prompted, click on restart.

    f. after the computer starts, check if the problem is resolved.

    My laptop was working fine yesterday, but when I started it today I get the message "Wireless association failed because Windows did not receive response from the access point or wireless router.

    I can see my network and I can connect to the internet using my desktop pc, but just to make complicated I can't even connect to the network when I plug the ethernet cable into my laptop.

    Laptop would not work at home thus concluded that it was a BT Broadband do not issue my driver (despite BT telling me the opposite last night)

    After the call to a fantastic Lady in BT it's all fixed and thanks to Jack I now know a lot more on connecting wireless to my laptop!
