Again the group lacks a restart RAC instance

Hi all

We run a 4 RAC node and due to a physical operation, we had to stop 2 nodes for 2 days.

Once the server is restarted again, CRS and ASM instance works fine, but when the instance starts BECAUSE it crashes at the opening of the database with a "ora-03113 end of file on the communication channel.

Examining the alert.log on these instances, you notice the following error message:

ORA-00313: open failed for the members of the Group of newspapers wire 11 2
ORA-00312: threads of 11 2 online newspaper: "+ FLASH/.../onlinelog/group_11...".
ORA-17503: ksfdopn:2 could not open the file + FLASH/.../onlinelog/group_11...
ORA-15001:

Looking at the log of $ V and V$ logfile views active instances, these files seems to be there, but this group is marked as "INACTIVE".

Should be a solution for this group "CURRENT"? Do you have any suggestions to work around this problem?

Thanks in advance for your help.

Closing the database...
Startup mount...
move the newspaper group
recreate the group logs and log files...
Then, open the database...

  • Clients unable to connect due to the ORA - 12545 Intermittent in RAC environment

    We deal with this problem.
Whenever we connect customer oracle application to our database server.
ounces it connect and the next moment, it shows the error ORA-12545: Connect failed because target host or object does not exist.

After searching on Google, I found many recommendations for this.
    the one I like is:

    +(source: Internet) +.

Whe LOCAL_LISTENER is nothing or is not set correctly, PMON can record the VIP host name and the physical hostname with the REMOTE_LISTENER. This is incorrect in the CARS, but if this happens, the client may intermittently be routed to an endpoint listens on one of these addresses. If the client cannot resolve the host name physical or even vip host name, the connection will fail with ORA-12545.
And first set is important to check the output for: lsnrctl services < nom_recepteur >
You should not see the physical hostname in the information manager for your RAC instances. Here is an example of a services of incorrect lsnrctl < nom_recepteur > output to a 2 node RAC cluster:
    oracle_rac_listener lsnrctl services
    Service 'oracle.oracle.com' has 2 occurrences.
'Orcl1' instance, State LOAN, has 2 managers of this service...
    Managers:
"DEDICATED" set up: 0 denied: 0 status: ready
    REMOTE SERVER
    (ADDRESS = (PROTOCOL = TCP)(HOST=myphysicalhost1) (PORT = 1521))
"DEDICATED" set up: 326 refused: 0 status: ready
    LOCAL SERVER

"Orcl2", State LOAN, has 1 operation for this service...
    Managers:
"DEDICATED" implemented: 394371 refused: 0 status: ready
    REMOTE SERVER
    (ADDRESS = (PROTOCOL = TCP)(HOST=myphysicalhost2) (PORT = 1521))
Here's an example of what it should look like when LOCAL_LISTENER is configured correctly:
    oracle_rac_listener lsnrctl services
    Service 'oracle.oracle.com' has 2 occurrences.
'Orcl1' instance, State LOAN, has 2 managers of this service...
    Managers:
"DEDICATED" set up: 0 denied: 0 status: ready
    REMOTE SERVER
    (ADDRESS = (PROTOCOL = TCP)(HOST=myVIP_host1) (PORT = 1521))
"DEDICATED" set up: 326 refused: 0 status: ready
    LOCAL SERVER

"Orcl2", State LOAN, has 1 operation for this service...
    Managers:
"DEDICATED" implemented: 394371 refused: 0 status: ready
    REMOTE SERVER
    (ADDRESS = (PROTOCOL = TCP)(HOST=myVIP_host2) (PORT = 1521))
Open a session with privileges to the instance and run the following commands so that LOCAL_LISTENER is correctly configured:
    change the value system LOCAL_LISTENER = "(address = (protocol = tcp (host = < your_vip_node1 >))(port=1521)) range = the two sid ="INSTANCE_NAME1";"
Do the same for the 2nd instance where is set to < vip_host_node2 > and the sid is defined for the 2nd instance name.
    change the value system LOCAL_LISTENER = "(address = (protocol = tcp (host = < your_vip_node2 >))(port=1521)) range = the two sid ="INSTANCE_NAME2";"
Now the correct address using the VIP host name is registered against the Auditors in the cluster.
The client must be able to resolve all forms of the VIP host through their file/etc/hosts. that is, short name and complete.

    now my concern is:

To change the LOCAL_LISTENER parameter in the init.ora/spfile database, it will require a downtime? or it will have a negative impact on our existing RAC databases?
    Please suggest?

    Thank you

  • Disable the auto reboot of Rac instances.

    Hello guys,.

We can use the disable SRVCTL command disable a particular ASM instance or instance of database Rac clusterware restarting manually if we are performing maintenance activities. but in oracle databases 11 GR 2 RAC databases can be managed or managed the policy administrator. still, there are two automatic and manual strategies. automatic with automatically restart instances. Here, if we define politics in the manual the clusterware cannot restart the database instance.

    1. now, we have a RAC database with 5 cases and and defines us as manual policy. This means that, after a reboot of the system the clusterware is no longer able to restart all instances of database automatically... is that accurate.

    2. we can change the current policy to another strategy using the SRVCTL change database management_policy RAC y - d... here, the management policy can be just right either automatic and manual...

    help guys...

    Hello
Point 1 and 2 seems to be OK for oracle 11g databases rel2.

    srvctl y {AUTO |} The database management policy MANUAL}.
    1 *. If AUTOMATIC
(default), then the database is automatically
in his previous running state (started or)
stopped) when the database host computer is restarted.
If MANUAL, then the database is never automatically
restarts after a restart of the database host computer.
A MANUAL setting does not prevent the Restart Oracle
    database monitoring during operation and
    restarting if an error occurs.

    srvctl change option
    * 2.Enables allows you to change the configuration of the instance without deletion and addition
Resources of Oracle Clusterware. Using change preserves the environment in OCR
configuration which would otherwise have to be entered again. The configuration
description has been changed in the OCR configuration and a new Oracle Clusterware
the profile is generated and saved. The change takes effect when the application is
    then rebooted.
    For example:
    srvctl change asm
Change the listening port used by Oracle ASM, the Group of disk discovery string used by
Oracle ASM or the SPFILE used by Oracle ASM for a single instance database or a
    the cluster database.
    Hope it answered your questions.

We have a database of CARS to work two nodes. We install a new fusion 640 GB flash card in each node. The is a double card, so that it shows up as two devices: / dev/fioa and/dev/fiob on each node.
We have created two groups of private drives, one on each node. The Group of disks on node 1 is '+ FLASHCACHE' and the disk on node 2 group is "+ FLASHCACHE2".

We have not found specific examples of how to configure the parameters of the init for flashcache on RAC/ASM. We guess that we must do the following. If anyone would be critical and confirm or suggest something different, we would appreciate it very much!

    "prod1.db_flash_cache_file ='+ FLASHCACHE/flash1"
    prod2.dg_flash_cache_file = '+ FLASHCACHE2/flash2'

    Hi Jim,.

    prod1.db_flash_cache_file='+FLASHCACHE/flash1'
    prod2.dg_flash_cache_file='+FLASHCACHE2/flash2'
    *.db_flash_cache_size=600G

    Your configuration is correct.

Smart Flash Cache database is not shared across RAC nodes. It is private to each RAC instance. For this reason, each RAC instance must define its own local cache of flash file path. When the flash cache is managed by ASM, a separate diskgroup is necessary for each instance flash cache.

You can use ALTER SYSTEM for db_flash_cache_size set to zero to disable the flash cache. Alternatively, you can use ALTER SYSTEM to deliver the flash cache to its original size to reactivate it.

  • Windows XP Clean install... copies the files and then restarts... Never installed!

I've recently updated some hardware in my PC, a new Gigabyte motherboard and an AMD Dual Core processor. Here are the specifications of what Im running:
The rest is all pretty basic stuff... fans, etc heat sinks. It's pretty much a budget box, so there is nothing too special about it. I thought that I restart it come and go, but the process of starting always led me through the boot of MB, then to "loading of the operating system", then restart everything again.
I did the walk through for clean install of Windows XP and everything goes well until it comes time for the operating system to install.
    1. Boot from CD
    2. Setup Windows XP now
    3. Delete the existing partition
    4. Create the new partition
    5. Choose the location and format of partition
    6. Copy the files in Windows XP
The copy goes by fine... but after that is where the problem starts. Instead of going to Windows Installer, it will restart the PC.  After the reboot, it goes through the whole process that I mentioned at the beginning of this problem.
    What I am doing wrong?

    Hello

Once the files are copied when the computer restarts automatically do not press any key to boot from the CD again and let the computer automatically launch the next step. Also remove any external devices attached outside keyboard and mouse.
