• Cannot start the agent of the ODI JAVA EE on Linux

  Hello

  I have installed/configured EMP 11.1.2.4 on exalogic (VM linux 5.8). When I start my services I get everything right except agent ODI; It does not start and when I try to start from console FUSION EM I get this error

  [Deployer: 149034] An exception has occurred for task [Deployer: 149026] start application oraclediagent on ErpIntegrator0. : [HTTP:101216] Servlet: 'AgentServlet' failed by preloading at startup in a Web application: "oraclediagent."

  I checked on the oracle support and they say that we must change the binding order. I changed the binding order by twisting in files located in /etc./sys-config/network-scripts. But I still get the same error.

  My questions are,

  1 - is the right way to change the binding order?

  2 - How can I see which NIC is chosen by the agent of the ODI; is there a way I can change the NIC ODI agent chooses?

  Enter these lines in

  Start WLS_Admin_Console-> domain_name-> Servers-> ErpIntegrator0-> configuration-> Server-> Arguments:

  '- Doracle.odi.coherence.wka1 =server_ip - 9088 = Doracle.odi.coherence.wka1.port - Dtangosol.coherence.localhost =server_ip - Dtangosol.coherence.localport = 9088.

  without the quotes. Restart the server of the ERPI.

• What is different between the ODI and FDQM?

  I need to know what is different between the ODI and FDQM?

  At is simpler ODI is a tool for ELT enterprise scale which can cope with very large amounts of data bwteen heteregeneous systems moving. It requires a certain degree of technical knowledge to use as well and that the user is competent enough with SQL. It isn't really a tool of the end-user and the jobs tend to be lights out processes to the application with a user interface for execution of these works limited. FDQM is a data quaility tool that gives the average end-user out-of-box functionality must be able to transform and load data into various target systems. It is not designed to move very large amounts of data efficiently i.e. multi millions of lines of data as ODI. However, it has a rich user interface that provides an easy to use mapping engine, a repeatbale under control the data loading process and has a host of built elements, declaration and verification, which would have to be built from scratch in a tool like ODI

  I am little confused the difference between the owner of the workspace and repository user?
  
  I think, owner of the workspace is owner of the repository. What is the use of the repository user? What is the role of user from the repository in OWB? We use
  OWB tool and I don't see anywhere that we use the repository user. I am trying to understand the difference between these two users.

  The difference that I know is:
  The repository owner has permission to assistant repository also manage owner working space or the user.

• Location of the Agent of the ODI

  I hope it's a simple question.

  I have Essbase and planning on a Unix machine.  ODI Studio is on a windows machine.  If I install the ODI Agent on the windows box, I should be able to load to the correct planning and Essbase?  Are there other necessary elements in the box of Windows ODI to connect with planning?

  Well are you talking about using the standalone ODI or one that comes with the FDMEE?

  FDMEE install an ODI in the machine were you install the FDMEE.

  If you install ODI agent in the Windows box, it should be able to talk to the planning & Essbase on Linux (you can also use the agent to stand alone).

  End of the day, that the ODI studio connects to the database/schema & work-repository master to run the interface.

  Make sure that apply you all necessary patches (in 11.1.2.3, it is mandatory to apply a patch ODI if planning is a target)

  Based on my system, I've created about 50 scenarios and 6 ODI agent. Each of the agent of the ODI is treated approximately 8 scenarios. It comes to my setup for the ODI agent: -.
  
  ODI_INIT_HEAP = 32 m
  ODI_MAX_HEAP = 256 m
  
  Based on my configuration, each agent ODI is then defined as 256 M.
  
  My question is that one better if I use 1/2 agent basically MAX_HEAP or used 6 agent with the above configuration.

  Go to the topology.
  Physical architecture open / Agents.
  Open your agent by double-clicking.
  At the bottom left of the window, you will see the Maximum number of sessions. Set this value to 25 (or whatever the number)

  When you submit more runs than that number already parallel execution, then ODI will be automatically queued for execution place in the order of presentation.

  Press on apply. Restart your agent in the operating system. (ODI reads only the settings and schedules at startup. Appendices can be updated at other times perform the "Update calendar" button in the definition of the topology, or when the ODIUpdateAgentSchedule tool is used.)

  Hello, I try to ensure that all the necessary elements of ODI are backed up correctly. ODI is used to extract data from Oracle EBS to an SSRS SQL reporting environment and currently the master of ODI and repository work databases are being backed up. Is there anything else that is necessary if would need a restore done ODI? I read the OdiExportMaster tool, but not sure if it's the same thing that only backup the database? Any information that would be great, thanks.

  The only advantage with associated with the database, Oracle provides tools for rear differential upward.
  but there is no such tool ODI
  This is the full backup of Master and work
  but you can remove the old archives of these Master and compressed files that are older than 3 days of work.

• Solution for the ODI function call

  I'm using ODI 11 g.

  Currently I use oracle procedures to call a function in ODI.

  just like "Select package_name.function_name from dual" I use this query in the variables of ODI. The output of the function
  I use in the mails from the ODI.

  So, for this... Assume that for any change that I have to go to an Oracle package and change the logic of operation... and then promote this
  production... which takes a moment for me.

  So I want to write this function inside the variable of the ODI and send the output to mail ODI... While I don't need DB side to promote
  the production code on all the changes.

  Please let me know if this solution is good or not.

  Hello

  in my opinion is good have any logic inside the ODI. But it depends on the complexity of the logic and the frequency of your change. If you change the logic once for the year, it is completely unnecessary to do inside your ODI.

  A good compromise would be to put a step in package_name.function_name in your parcel.

• installation of the agent on the vmware ESX Server

  Hi, im trying to install the agent 2.7.6 on an esx server of vmware 3.01, somehow, the agent does not connect to the administration server, I opened the ports on the firewall of esx with esxcfg-firewall - openport port 7443 and 2144 but I still can not the agent to connect to the management server... everything I forget?

• How to start the agent on the database host computer that is being monitored

  I installed OEM 11.2.1.0. I stopped getting alerts after the 1 server node is restarted. I followed RAC database.
  When I checked the status of the host agent I get the following output

  I assume that you have installed your agent in the directory

  / u01/app/Oracle/agent11g/bin

  If this is correct then run the following commands

  Export ORACLE_HOME = / u01/app/oracle/agent11g /.
  export LD_LIBRARY_PATH = / u01/app/oracle/agent11g/lib

  PATH = $ORACLE_HOME/bin:. : $PATH; export PATH

  As a matter of fact, you need to set the environment variables separate for the agent to execute commands
  which are related to the agent. These distinct environment must be set correctly to ensure that the
  commands can be found in the appropriate directories...

  Then, run the status command emctl agent...

  Have you try the option "Print" - which generates documentation PDF of all your interfaces etc.
  It is available in the right-mouse-button on the project and the files Menu.

• How to change the name of the ODI agent and port number

  I installed ODI standalone agent (11g) on a linux server.  We now realize that we need to change the name and port number of the agent.  Is it possible to change these or do we need to re - install odi agent?

  I know that I can change the name in the ODI, but I can't change the port number.  I would like everything to be consistent in all of our environments.  That's why we need to change the name of the agent and the port number.

  How do you start the agent? Which command you use to start?

  There are two ways, either by directly calling agent.bat and passing name agent and port don't start or you can run the sh/bat file created during installation (present in oracledi\agent\bin). The file name that is created should look like this (agent_localagent11g) where localagent11g is the name given during installation time and 'agent' is the prefix that was added by ODI.

  There is no configuration file to configure the port number and agent. Make sure that the port number and name you pass to agent.sh must match what is configured in odistudio.

  Agent.bat '-PORT = 20910 ""-NAME = localagent11g.

• QUESTION: Extracting data Essbase AND the ODI Agent installation?

  To extract the data of Essbase cubes, ODI has 'LKM Hyperion Essbase DATA to SQL'.
  We can use (1). ReportScript, or (2). An MDX query or (3). CalcScript
  
  For the extraction of data by using CalcScript, ODI Agent must be running on the same server as the Essbase server.
  
  Anyone know if there is a need for ODI Agent on the Essbase machine if we use the method of MDX query for the extraction of the data?

  It's just for the Calc script method because it has access to the exported file, you should be fine with the other methods.

• ODI agent cannot connect to the ODI Studio

  We install ODI via subsequently EPM using FDMEE.  We have installed using the version 11.1.2.3

  We can connect via Studio ODI and surf around.  We started seeing a problem where we can't get into some places.  Especially if we try to select Show agent planning, we get a message unable to connect.

  , We looked at the log file and find the following line.  ODI-1424 host Agent or the port can be reached using http:// xxxxxxxxx

  What we have noticed is that the URL it uses is the original no SSL url.  So, my question is where this configuration change?  Since then, we have installed an ODI via EMP/FDMEE I don't know where to look for the configuration.

  We tested the same on our environment no SSL is enabled and it works without any problem.

  Any help would be greatly appreciated.
