  Anyone has an idea why the evolutionary content HTML feature stops working when you publish a multitude of SWFs as an aggregator project? or have a work around for it?

• Aggregator and SCORM

  HI -.

  I'm working on a big project that must be in accordance with SCORM 1.2. The project includes 4 mods Captivate and 1 final quiz. I've zipped all the individual mods and must use aggregator to combine. However, aggregator in Captivate 5 does not generate a manifest file.

  When I combine all the slides of the course in a big project, it crashes, so I really need to use aggregator to make it work.

  No, you have a little bad.

  As I mentioned earlier, this is LMS (not Captivate) that uses details in the imsmanifest.xml file to build a set of links in the SCORM player of which will allow the participants to access each of the modules contained in the package of MULTI-SCO.  This is the only table of contents, you will see in the LMS that allows you to access each lesson.  What will look like this OCD in the player varies from one LMS to another, but they are usually very clear.  Some are not much more than a set of hyperlinks.  This is the world of SCORM.

  However, if you have configured each individual lesson with it's own table of contents to access the slides IN the lesson, those that continue to operate after the reading of the lesson.

  Hello, I am interested in Adobe Presenter and Captivate software products because I believe that they meet my need to create software simulations/demos for my employees.  We have a cornerstone LMS (SCORM v1.2) in place and I would like to be able to create simulations and assign them to my employees to take using my LMS.  In addition to assign courses/simulations I create to employees by the LMS, they need to access through the LMS, too.

  So, I'm looking to confirm that if I create simulations with Adobe Presenter and Captivate that I can load the entire course/simulaton to my LMS for my employees to view/access.  Is this possible?  Is that for the quiz followed in the LMS?  If not possible to have the sims assigned and available through the LMS, what are your recommendations?

  Both are compatible SCORM. I created even (for students testing) assessments with Captivate and score in the notebook (Blackboard used as LMS). For courses that didn't need to score, package download is possible as well. The LMS followed if the course has been visualized, finished (last is also possible by creating a SCO).

  I have two applications but rarely use Visual Communicator (VC). There are times I shot for a test. I am pleased to announce that I recorded with VC and he fell in Captivate and it played smoothly. So I conclude that you should have no problem with it. I'm guessing that it inserts already metadata that needs to Captivate.

  In addition to my PC on-site tests, I popped the video up on my server and tested from there to make sure things worked as well. And they did it.

• Integration of Dreamweaver and captivate?  -scos several multiple questionnaires

  I'm new to Captivate (and SCORM too) so please be nice.
  
  I'm working on a project that has several individual SCO created using Dreamweaver. Each SCO has a quiz in Captivate 3 (separate SCO) at the end (all SCORM 1.2 - a requirement of the LMS of the client engine) for evaluation. All the SCO (Dreamweaver 'lessons' and Captivate Quizzes) pass the tests of conformity of the ADL.
  
  BUT...
  
  When loading in the LMS, les resultats results of each quiz replaces the previous result of quiz. In other words, the quiz is not presented as independent 'tests' so that the results are reported separately. Is anyway to require (or code) each quiz will be retained by the LMS as an individual Test?
  
  Is this an impossible task? This is a limitation of SCORM 1.2? A limitation of Captivate? A limitation of my poor tired brain?

  I guess that I'm not used to the simplicity of 1.2. It is certainly not very student (or developer) centered, is it?... Great courses (several seats hours) full of interactive forms (each requiring a single SCO, don'cha know) would be impossible to develop in 1.2.

• Aggregator and arrows "in-out slide.

  Hi all

  Today I am test aggregator to make sure that my big courses can all be squashed into a single product of transparent appearance, based on the table of contents.

  Eureka! The essential function of aggregator seems to work fine, so far. However...

  On each of my classes, I created the table of contents for the 'OVERLAY' style, on the left side... so basically the student could drag the table of contents, or back as needed.

  When I consolidate and publish, I get something that looks more like articulate... the table of contents is attached permanentlyl to the left.

  Is it the height only available now? I do not see any place to make changes and the two arrows of little 'sliding' no longer appear on my aggregated slides.

  I can live with that... However, due to the size of the user's screen, I might have to go back and lower the screen real estate in my Captivate movies.

  Sorry, but with Aggravator, uh... Aggregator, things are very WYSIWYG. It has been my experience that even if Captivate movies that you have grouped using the decorative style, the aggregator will present the separate table of contents.

• PDF and Captivate

  Situation: I have a colleague who has a series of PDF documents that their populations are required to read in order to inform / educate. Now, they want to use Captivate to test their knowledge after reading the various PDF files and our LMS and record their participation activity.

  They want each page of PDF documents on individual captivate slides - creating a project of slide multi by PDF document.

  If the training material has been in PowerPoint, I know it's simple import of PPT in Captivate - but we are talking here about PDF!

  The only way I can see their goal achieved is to copy / paste each page of the PDF on Captivate individual slides and create a test at the end of the project.

  I know that Captivate is not designed for importing PDFS but just thought I would reach out to the community in case anyone has a clever solution or suggestion.

  I hope that I have clearly explained the situation and look forward to the answers.

  Yes, I'm not aware of any other way to do it. Is the PDF screenshot pages and insert image or copy the text and paste it into containers (legends of text or smart forms).

• Using PowerPoint and Captivate together - what are your best practices?

  HI - here are my two questions...

  (1) it seems that when you insert PowerPoint slides in CP7 and duplicate a slide - slide 2 is not a fresh new creation.  It is always related to the original slide & all changes to one of them in PowerPoint, a direct impact on other related slides.  I realize now that I can go back in PP and duplicate it... But it just seems like extra which steps.  Am I missing something here?

  (2) I would like to hear how others approach developers creating a new project of CP, using PowerPoint as a starting point.  Go you back or do you create new themes based on the drawings of PP and then copy and paste the content?  I guess I'm looking here for best practices.

  If you start from scratch, PowerPoint is a terrible thing to consider. Don't get me wrong it's a great tool for what it does. But the reason we see even any possibility for Captivate shoot in a PowerPoint presentation is because there are still masses of people out there who have hundreds of thousands of PowerPoint presentations they want to reallocate in e-learning. So it is to get this way managed job 'quick and dirty '.

  The process of importing a PowerPoint performs a conversion of the PowerPoint slide in Flash SWF file. Then, the SWF file is configured as the subject of the slide background. That's why when you duplicated the slide, you have seen the behaviour you have done.

  Here is that if you start from scratch, start with a blank Captivate project. Use PPT if you wish, but only as a design tool. Copy the images of PPT, then insert into Captivate.

  I'm trying to run a simple alert ('hello'); When I click the button but nothing happens when I publish it.

  Using Captivate 7, is it possible to get HTML5 to aggregator output? After publishing an aggregator as SWF, that SWF is possible compatible HTML5?

  HI jay fresno, aggregator does not support HTML5 output. Same SWF generated out of aggregator is not possible to make HTML5 compatible.

  Hello

  I recorded a process how to fill an excel spreadsheet which contained active cells. the images on the demo in captivate look very well (yellow background - see image 1)

  

  but when I saw using the web browser they appear not yello and after each race, they change colors. (see image 2)

  

  can anyone tell me why that would happen, and if there is a way to solve this problem?

  No, just change the quality of the slide in the Panel properties, or substitute even easier, the quality of the blade with the publication in the preferences (screenshot, highlighted in yellow). In the same box, you will find the compression settings (checked in my screenshot, highlighted in green)

  

• Slide the length and Captivate 5

  I saw a lot of people complain about the speed of Captivate 5, including me.  Yet not everyone is affected by this problem.  Today, I realized one of the main problems that causes the Captivate 5 to slow down and run like a dog: slide length.

  I created Captivate 4, eLearning creating a number of slides and paste screenshots of an application on the background and placing the boxes click to allow the user to progress through online learning, as if they were in the application itself.  (Because all of the images, click boxes, text boxes, highlight boxes, etc., could disappear after the slide duration had elapsed (default: 3 seconds) I made the duration of the slide to the maximum available (3600 seconds) and made all the images, click boxes, etc.) last the duration of the slide.  This means that, as long as the user did not leave the e-learning for an hour, everything would be okay.

  I'm Cativate 5 review for a new customer (having previously excluded Captivate 5 for another client because of these performance issues) and I found that it runs absolutely perfect... until I increased the length of the blade to the maximum (999 seconds I think).  Then, even if there is no many slides and it is not much of objects on each slide, it works very slowly.

  So that's my observation, my question is: there must be a better way to produce e-learning that I do not.  Ideally, I want that all images, click boxes, objects, etc., to disappear a slide - user must have all the time in the world to click a click box and advances to the next slide.  So, how can I do this in this light?  Any advice/suggestions?

  Just to pause the slide with a button or click box. At this moment of pause right after all appeared, ask the user to click the button to continue or if it's a click box (could cover the slide) click on the slides. If I have slides of a duration of more than 65 seconds, it's mainly because of audio, never to the objects on the slide.

  Sorry, forgot the discoloration: do you need that discoloration? If this is not the case, why not use "without Transition? And you want the fading at the beginning of the project, fading at the end? If this isn't the case, you can also remove those fading in Preferences, project, beginning and end.

• Presenter and Captivate

  Hello all, my first post on the Board of the presenter and a frequent user on the forum of Captivate. I could use you your expertise and advice... any who!
  
  I am an instructional designer and we used Captivate exclusively for two years. I am proficient with it but want to spend now and incorporate a little more 'pizazz' in modules.
  
  Currently, I'm looking for the best method of adding video to the presentation of Captivate that have a transparent background and will, for example, a person to "walk" on the screen, say something and then walk off the screen a static image remains in the background. A bit like a Rainmaker in front of a map.
  
  Sales team Adobe advised me of is present but before I ask the company for money $$$, can you tell me if I'm on the right track? Is easy to use and edit video? It works well with Captivate? Should I think of another program?

  Captivate should be able to handle this. If the video has a transparent background, then we can overlay elements on the slide and everything just play somewhere appropriate to the time line.

  I see no present like the right tool for you in this need that video editing capabilities are... Well well... minimal at best. Use video editing software to create the video you like and then just insert it as an object on the slide in Captivate.
