Alienware 15 No Post two beep

Hi, I had this Alienware 15 last year, everything was fine until today.

I7 6700hq

980 m

A strange thing happened this morning. Somehow the laptop can not find wifi hotspots so I turned off the computer and put it back in to see if I can solve your problem. Then the beep. Two beep means maybe RAM issue, so I tried to reinstall and even replace the RAM, but without success.

Looking for help, I know the locations of memory on the motherboard may be the cause, but I would like to hear from anyone on how this problem occurs in a shot with no obvious indication.

One thing that I forget, I leave on mode to sleep a lot, and sometimes I just let it run out the batteries.

Hello

Check this article for no post troubleshooting Dell:

Also, try a bar of memory at a time in each slot. If the problem persists please send me a PM with the serial number.

  • SOLVED blackBerry smartphones - cannot make outgoing calls. Get two beeps like busy tone with the Koodo Mobile in Thunder Bay, Ontario North

This has caused me a lot of frustration.

With my curve when I try to make an outgoing call and I get a busy signal as two beeps repeating themselves.

I tried everything and the only thing that worked was a security wipe, so losing all my data.

If I made a backup and restore, the problem comes back. If I restored it selectively through desktop BLackberry, database of the database, the problem returns. Koodo Mobile and Blackberry escalated support was not able to understand this.

However, through much trial and error, I found that if I limit my identity or turn off the option to show my number in the phone settings, for some reason any he caused this problem.

So I can't block my identity by using the settings on the phone.

This can be the result of my location service and the carrier, which is Koodo mobile, in Thunder Bay in Northwestern Ontario that used the TBAYTEL towers for the service, the type of signals technology service. I don't know, and no one was able to tell me why this is happening. I went to 6 months not being able to make outgoing calls without losing ALL my sms, contacts, BBM, TXTs, bookmarks and other personal data. Only a security wipe would allow me to make a call - until I have activate the restrict my identity and activated the show my number option.

SO - I hope this helps other users. I've been through three phones, thinking that it was the material problems.

It's a kind of crappeh because I would not block my identity with a few calls. So with the curve BB on Koodo to Thunder Bay, I can't do that. I have not tried outside the Northwestern ONtario, but it will probably be the same, unless I am out of service TBAYTEL area.

Such is life. Live with it.

    Difficulty easy but unsatisfactory.

I ' lll this post in the Forum of Koodo so when one exists.

    See you soon!

I did these steps including restore each database one at a time with the same results. I can do a full restore and the remains of the issue until I set restrict my identity forever AND Show My Number Yes. I also did all of these steps with the any other BB Curve 8530 and it seems to happen every ih in this area.

I found the work around but it would be good to know why and if this happens outside the TBAYTEL towers that Koodo Mobile uses throughout Northern Ontario to the Ontario-Manitoba border in the West, to the North of Hearst and East of Sault Ste. Marie.

If there are a Koodo Mobile, users who have a BlackBerry Curve 8530, I'd like to hear you just what I see if it is unique to the service provider, hardware, software and network type, geographical location, etc.

Any comment is appreciated, as support Koodo and BlackBerry have been baffled and couldn't solve this problem and I hope that others find it so that they can save months of time and frustration, I have lived.

  • Satellite A200 - black screen with two beeps

    Date: October 17, 2009

I have Toshiba Satellite laptop computer * model A200 PSAFCA-01400J *. I am facing a problem of * completely black screen * (I can't see any image either). It happened twice more than the screen wouldn't turn on by moving the mouse or the touchpad. To turn on the screen I had to restart the computer. The screen worked well until it turns off again. Since it does not turn on even after I restarted my computer several times. I noticed that my * Windows vista home premium * load properly I can hear audio that indicates that I am ready to open a session. I also noticed the sound signal after slipping my finger on the sensor attesting that I connected successfully, but the screen remains black.

When I turn on my computer, I noticed that it sounds two beeps, first beep is short and the second beep is relatively long. I tested the cover closing the cover switch and noticed that my computer goes into sleep mode and by opening the cover that Eve turns off and my computer turns on again; but the screen remains black. One of my friends suggested that the backlight of the screen inverter or the lid switch is defective. Can someone tell me what could be the problem and what do the two beep codes?

    Thank you

    Hi mate,

Normally the beep codes at the start of average that it s something wrong with the hardware of your laptop. As Akuma said, maybe the graphics card or RAM must be replaced or other parts too.

Have you already tried to connect an external monitor? You can see a picture on this subject?
I don't know but maybe what he s m only internal something wrong with the monitor.

In any case, I think you should contact a service provider for help. Technicians can check the laptop and fix it for you.

    Welcome them

  • When I start my laptop running windows 7, I sometimes get a duller tone of flashing two beeps as if something is wrong. What coud this be and how do I kill him?

When I start my laptop running widows 7 I sometimes get a most annoying intermittent tone of two beeps suggesting (I imagine) that something is wrong. I think this has been already experienced with the connection of the optical mouse (Verbatim). Later, everything was fine, but the sound is back and the phone seems to work OK. What could cause this warning sign and how do I get rid the same?

    Hey Neville,

    1. What is the brand and model of your computer?
    2. did you of recent changes to the computer?

Let's try these suggestions and see if the problem still occurs.

If you are using AMI BIOS, see the error messages associated with it.

    Number of Beeps Error Message
    --------------------- ---------------
           1 DRAM refresh failure
           2 Parity circuit failure
           3 Base 64K RAM failure
           4 System timer failure
           5 Processor failure

These errors are codes reported by THE system BIOS. Because errors are hardware related, you must call your equipment manufacturer or dealer to help fix the problem.

The product included here, AMI BIOS, is manufactured by vendors independent of Microsoft; We make no warranty, implied or otherwise, regarding the performance or reliability of this product.

Hope the above information has been useful. If you have any doubts, answer here and we are happy to help you.

  • HP Z600 workstation: Z600 - POST error beep (5 five beeps)

I bought an opportunity Workstation Z600 with 12 GB of ram and two processors E5520 Xeon a year ago. It has operated VMware esxi 6 like a champ, 24/7, no problem.  I made a change to esxi to activate technology hyper threading that I had not been activated previously. The change required a reboot.

Directly after the restart, the Z600 gave an error of 5 beeps with power led to change from blue to red and flashes red with each beep.

I found the Z600 maintenance manual and the diagnostic code refers to a "memory error video pre.  I have tried the following to resolve the error without success:

    1. Reinstall the DIMMs.
    2. Replace DIMMS one by one to isolate the faulty module.
    3. Removed power system without DIMM DIMMS, bike and re-placed DIMM (it was a 'technical' repair suggested on another post here in the forums of HP for a matter of "5 beeps").
    4. Replaced with different compatible DIMM DIMMS.
    5. Replaced the motherboard with used, but identical motherboard number and repeat steps 1 to 4.

At this point, I don't know what I can do a troubleshooting point.

For any help or suggestion would be greatly appreciated.

    Just a last follow-up.

I removed the 2nd CPU, cleared the CMOS but it still some messages with error 5 beep. Swapped all of RAM sticks, swapped CPU 1 with the 2nd and traded off the RAM sticks again. Each combination was the POST error.

I threw in the towel. I thought about buying the new RAM since all my RAM is used, but I can't justify spending good money after bad on a hunch, it's the RAM. I will part out the Z600 and try to recover some of my losses.

Just that there is another method I wish diagnostic I could apply to understand what is the question.

Who knew restart, after a year of solid service, would kill the PC.

    Thank you all.

  • HP Compaq D220 mobo POST, just beep codes...

Well, it's really frusturating. I thought that I would have figured this out now. I turn on the motherboard, and I get 5 short beeps, a pause, then 5 more and so on...

I tried Googling the model mobo (Lite-on NR138) and there is no record anywhere, I know it's old, but even the HP Compaq D220 page is void of any useful information. No specification page. And the 'upgrade and migration' page is a dead link.

It would help me a lot to know what the beep codes mean, but it would be useful also to know if BIOS this motherboard only recognises
some steppings, because I already tried 3 different processors. Two of them with B0 stepping and a C1 stepping.

    The first CPU I tried was SL68Q (1.8 Ghz, 512 K, 400 Mhz) there were 5 beeps.
Then I tried SL6LC, with c1 stepping (2.0 Ghz, 128 K, 400 Mhz) it did not work at all, I don't even have the beep codes. (Not surprising, I think it's Fried).
Finally, I tried SL66Q which is identical to the first (1.8 Ghz, 512 K, 400 Mhz) it has also resulted in 5 beeps.

And Yes, I have excluded from the RAM, I tried 2 DIMM different (the two work in other systems). So I'm convinced it's a CPU problem.
Any comments would be appreciated, especially if you have this mobo and have updated the CPU.

    ERICO, thanks for the suggestions.

    Problem solved!

The RAM card was loose on one end, and after pressing it with all my strength, click on it. I was sure that it was not the RAM, because I had tried several cards, different slot machines even (but they never wanted to click). In this particular mobo slots are all that I've seen the difference. The grooves are short, so the modules look like they are sitting on the top of the Golden Groove contacts. It takes a lot of strength to their seat correctly.

That this should be a lesson for me and others, that it is always a good idea to triple- check each strip memory and be very sure that they are not stirring, or tilted. The tabs on each side must click by themselves.

The Council is an American Megatrends Inc. Model [FRIEND] NR-138. (No Fujitsu, or Lite-On). It is brand HP, but has an AMI BIOS, not Phoenix / Award. It recognizes the processors that I tested previously. He took AGP, Audio and LAN. The chipset is Intel 845GV.

So in summary, five 5 short beeps of this Council is equal to "RAM not detected."

  • Alienware X 51 R1 will beep continuously during the beginning upward

    Hello

Recently, my X 51 R1 suddenly restarted in the middle of a program (windows Explorer), then it beeps continuously during startup and no image appeared on the screen.  I searched on the net for similar cases and discovered that it was perhaps because of the motherboard.  I have used it for 1 year and 8 months now. The only hardware upgrade I did changed the stock GTX 555 OEM to a reference of 660Ti Palit GTX card (December 2013).

In order to address the issue of beep, I reinstalled my video card, then waited several minutes before turning on the machine (by the way, I put my X 51 on a vertical position).  The same thing happened again.

After that, I reinstalled my card RAM and video then waited for several minutes.  I turned on the machine while on a horizontal, position and it started without errors.

What can be the cause of the problem beep? If there is something wrong with my motherboard, it should no longer works, correct?  Is it advantageous to put the X-51 on a horizontal position?

I hope someone can shed some light on this.  Thanks in advance!

It could have been a RAM module that has not been properly installed. The position should not make a difference. The main advantage to have in a horizontal position, is that it falls as easily if the surface where it is placed moves.

  • T420s does not start. "Fan Error" appears with two beeps

    Lenovo Thinkpad t420s

To the power, it goes to the ThinkVantage screen becomes black with "Fan Error" then stops.

Using the ThinkVantage button has no effect.

Everything was working fine a few hours ago, but now it seems that the main CPU (left rear) fan is no longer running.

Is it watered or could there be a way to solve this problem?

When the fan error fires always your fan or the motherboard is at fault and would require repairs under warranty.

  • My computer crashes randomly (usually by moving the mouse) and Microsoft, NVIDIA tried everything to fix it with no luck. Anyone having this problem? I have an Alienware Area 51 with two video cards in SLI 8800 and 4 GB of RAM.

The display freezes randomly. The Windows desktop, on the Web pages and during the games. This problem started when I had Vista and I have improved the thought that the BONE was the problem. It is not the case. I added 2 GB of the thought of RAM I need more to no luck. I have now deleted 1 graphics card and the problem persists. I deleted all software except the OS and the problem persists. When you start Windows in safe mode, that the computer does not freeze.

You are either having a video card driver problem or a ram memory stick problem.  I suggest that you check your ram and the settings in the BIOS.  Use security settings BIOS for the ram as the auto setting.  The Intels i7 have a little problem sometimes with more than one ram Strip and having the highest speed at stake.  Check this and get back with me. I have a simple philosophy: just assume everyone is a piece of c.r.a.p. and then be pleasantly surprised if you find someone who is not.

  • Two sets of two short beeps appear during the priming of the old Satellite Pro series

    Also XP SP3 isntalled.

Last week, I turned it on and windows was loading, I've heard two sets of two short beeps.
Rest of the laptop seems to work ok, bar NIVDIA towers problems when I turn off, but I have now the laptop as I want and I worry about those beeps. Of course, guaranteed for repair was three months, and who is just exhausted.

Oh woe is me. Can anyone? I can't reinstall everyting all again. Too old.

A surfer very silvery with a phobia of beep.

Hmm. I m using CCleaner also but just to clean the files in time and repair the registry, I never hear two beeps in missing hardware/driver, so for me, this does not look like CCLeaer that would solve...
But two beeps sometimes appear when starting the laptop, this could be the sound POST (self-test notification under tension).

However, you should also check if these two beeps would be available after the installation of new OS (new installation).

    Welcome them

  • 15-P157SA HP: HP 15-P157SA guard beep randomly since bought there is a little more than 7 days.

Hi all, I hope someone can help me with this problem that I have because technical support of curry have been so far no help for me either, and I'm at the point now where I have to request a refund if I can't fix it.

As I set up my HP 15 - P157SA, I had these beeps randomly that I can't understand why I get them. I did a lot of things that have not worked, in any case, here's the list of things I've tried so far:

    (1) I went to the page of diagnosis hp (where you press f2 on start up) I conducted a test of component (suggested by technician) to see if there no beeps during this time to work if it's a hardware problem. I did a quick test, there is no beeps. I then ran a test expanded to an hour and a half, and during this time, autour laptop does not beep. The technician said that this meant it was unlikely to be a hardware problem causing the beeps and more likely to be a software problem.

    (2) I unplugged my power cable to see if it was the power cord making the beep, but unfortunately still a sound signal.

    (3) the next thing I tried was to keep the power supply cord plugged but removed the battery to see if it was a problem with the battery. Yet once, it did not help and the laptop kept randomly beep.

    (4) another suggestion of many of the technician I spoke was to unplug my usb mouse and try again with just the trackpad. I tried this and found that the laptop still beeps.

    (5) I did a search on the internet and found that other people have had this problem but it seems to be no solution to the problem, someone had replaced their laptop 5 times and each laptop had the same problem, I think it was replaced by a different model in the end. I found another brand of HP with the same problem and the proposed fix was to run quietHDD. I thought a lot! A fix! But alas, that doesn't work anymore, my laptop beeps still randomly home.

    (6) I tried my sound to see if the beep came from my speakers, even with cut sound beeps inhibition happens again which suggested that there was not a sound system related issue.

There is one thing I want to mention. I love this laptop and I would like to avoid having to return it. I had no problem with the closures or any performance of my apps. The laptop on a set runs very smoothly despite the beeps. I just need to know if it's a fault because I don't want to go through the process to fix it later down the line, if it fails completely on me. I want to sort my 21 days so that if I have to I can go back and either get a refund or Exchange for another phone. The beep is random, may occur every few minutes, the beeps are short, they are not continuous and sometimes it can be 30 minutes before it happens again, sometimes that they are very common and appear to be a sound signal every few minutes. I also noticed that one or two times the beep seems to meet, two beeps short one after the other. It happened only a few times, usually it's just a short beep at the same time.

I tried to add as much information as possible, I hope I could explain everything clearly for you and that I have not confused you! I am also very frustrated if I want to apologize if I have sudden air somehow.  I, in no way mean to take on anyone and will be very grateful if someone can help me solve this problem.

    @Lekki2020 ,
