All applications deleted

All my apps are gone - even those provided with Windows 8.  I remember more refreshing it although the ones I downloaded is listed on a file on my desktop.  All I have is a blank screen and no apps are available as there are not.  Unfortunately, I don't have a recovery disc as it did not come with my Sony Vio.  I have updated antivirus software if it is possible that this has caused.  I'm at the end of the road, as I looked on the internet for answers and found that I have no recovery disk.

You can still get back without a recovery disk.  I wrote your options here: http://cmdrkeene.com/quickly-repair-pc-problems

  • Remove all applications, but not the settings

I would like to delete applications off iPad to my kids, but keep the settings. As a result of bad choices, they lost the use of the device for a month with the exception of a few applications of education. Because the device has more than 200 applications, I'm trying to understand if there is a relatively easy way to remove all applications (I can reload education ones), but all the settings I have for the device. I backed up the iPad and thought that I could restore all applications after their months of purgatory. Any ideas or suggestions on how to do it quickly?

No, there is not. Unless you're willing to wipe both parameters, applications will have to be deleted individually. However, with 200 apps, it could be easier to wipe and reintroduce the parameters.

  • When using my computer, all applications and the windows are closed at the same time, got disconnected and the computer turns off as if someone stops manually.

Original title: it's a virus that's causing this?

It happened a few times now. While I use my computer, all applications and the windows are closed at the same time, I am disconnected and the computer is off, as if someone manually stops the computer. I turn on the computer and log in and everything seems to be okay. No data deleted, not that I could find and detect anyway. One day when I turned on the computer, it run chkdsk before doing the usual startup. I use the computer for 2 years and this is the first time, she never did a chkdsk on its own. I used Microsoft Essentials and no viruses were found.

    Should I worry?

  • How to remove the icons from games to screen all applications

I uninstalled all my new laptop Win 8 games, but there is always a 'Games' section on the screen all applications containing icons for 'All Casual Games', 'All lovers of games', 'All family games', "All games for children" and "all MMO games. Right click on these icons and choose "Uninstall" takes me to the Panel configuration "Programs and features", but the applications are not listed.

Any thoughts on how to remove these unnecessary icons from the screen of all the Apps?

    Thank you!

I found a solution using registry edit. This tutorial was written with Windows 7 in mind, but also works with Windows 8.

  • One volume for all applications

Is there a way to define the Air iPad for a volume for all applications?  When I go into the music and YouTube, it seems
always change and increase the volume.

    Thanks in advance.

Hello. In fact change such volume indicated by the slider in the control center? Swipe up then left to see. I think that maybe it's just that the music is stronger, more deeply modulated. Not much you can do about it.

  • The touchpad scrolling works on all applications (including IE) but not in Firefox - Win 10

My touchpad scroll does not work in Firefox. It works great with IE and other applications (Windows 10).

If it was a driver issue - I think that this would not work in all applications, but it works fine everywhere (except Firefox)

I can operate for a short period, if I uninstall the Touchpad (in Device Manager), restart, re - installed.

Again, hard to believe it would be a driver problem - works fine in all applications, except Firefox...

  • A method to stop all applications at once

    Quit all open applications.

I came across a thread where someone wanted to know whether all applications should be closed before that the mac is stopped.

During the debate, someone else asked why it is not possible to close all applications at once.

I remembered reading that can be a solution for this with Automator easily.

This is how a very simple tool to stop applications open with Automator (in the Applications folder).

    Here's how:

    -Open the Automator application,

    -Choose Create a new "application."

-in the search box type 'Quit', then drag the "Exit all Applications" option on the right side.

-You can set applications to ask save changes or not

-Save the workflow as an application and name it for example "quit all."

-I put in Applications, but it will run everywhere,

It works as a standalone application and it is very fast.

You can change the icon of the application according to the standard method:

-Select quit all, and then select an icon that you want to quit, all for the two "get Info."

-Select the icon, copy in the menu.

-then click on the new "app" icon and paste it in the menu.

    -See it translate.

(Note: I found this quit all icon somewhere in the internet).

My experience is that it is not always necessary - is is counterproductive. "Compression of memory" the new OS X manages memory and apps very effectively.

'Compression of memory's a triple play... It is a performance gain; Compress and decompress data in RAM is much faster than reading and writing on the disc, even an SSD. It is a victory of energy; less time spent to transfer data between RAM and disk, more time that the system can pass in its idle state. And finally, it is a victory of capacity; ... can handle loads of work much more demanding than previous versions of Mac OS X.

By closing the Mac, it's much faster if you leave the operating system take care of closing down all applications and reopen all the apps on reboot.

In this way, you can pick up where you left off in record time.

  • Is there a way to get a list of all applications / updates that are cached on your server?

Is there a way to get a list of all applications / updates that are cached on your server?  Of course, we see the space that contains each category.  But I would like a detailed list of the individual items that are actually cached.

ITD be even better if I could get a scoreboard that showed me how many times a particular point was served to customers.

Yes.  But you need a little magic Terminal to get the desired data.  Caching server is managed by a sqlite database.  To examine the contents, follow these basic steps:

1: connect to the database using the following command:

    sudo sqlite3 /Library/Server/Caching/Data/AssetInfo.db

2: to structure the data, run these two commands to the sqlite command-line prompt:

    .blog column

    . Headers on

3: to find everything that is stored, run this command (you'll get iCloud cached documents, books, iOS apps, etc.):

    Select * from ZASSET;

4: to narrow the results down to elements called by software updates, try this:

    Select * from ZASSET where ZURI as "content %";

You could get a line that looks similar to the following:

    403 2 6 0 2012986793 474949928.477396 476912032.644505 e03448847909547fb8c7d4ecd5a7b6dd FAB32A72-DE33-469D-A7DF-3CE1A1F9A4D2 on Wednesday, August 5, 2015 18:00:30 GMT

    / Content/downloads/42/44/031-30888/bhrkylcnycxmtug9daw3g4magqb7dl7hba/OSXUpdComb o10.1

    (added the newline for readability)

It is an OS X Combo update.  It is located on the drive to library/server/cache/Data/FAB32A72-DE33-469D-A7DF-3CE1A1F9A4D2 / the file is probably named 0, but if you want to use it, just add at the end of the .pkg file.

I hope this helps.  Put server cache saves a lot of data.

Oh, to quit the sqlite command line tool, simply type .quit and press return.

  • 10.11.3 Update - All Applications Gone - Safe boot so OSX

10.11.3 installed from the Mac Store this morning, that's my story if someone's looking for a similar situation.

    MacBook Pro retina 15 inch - end of 2013, 1 TB SSD, 16 GB Ram, i7 2.3

I'm running FileVault and ran Clam AV.

In my view, that the important issue is the claim AV based on the reviews I found in a few newspaper articles.

Apparently, some suites AV fought this update during the installation.

I can't even open the app console right now to review my console logs to check AV made a decision.

After the installation/reboot, I was able to connect to my local account very well.

    But then everything was slow.

    GeekTool has not loaded

Docking station came minutes later vs normal 30 to 60 seconds.

All the dock icons had the missing picture of demand.

I could open Finder after a period of waiting to die beach ball.

There, I saw the mail.app with a bad icon image.

The Utilities folder, but no applications listed.

My home folder however, dropbox, ect still showed as populated... So at least my files are intact.

After reading a few other reviews I started safely bootdownloaded the patch manually...

And tried to do a manual install with AV OFF... This isn't launch... b/c all applications are dead...

    Still no love on reboot.

I may be a brick machine here, I just wanted to share my story.

  • OMG: Deleting photos in iCloud library does not work, all my deleted photos were stored by Apple!

Today, I used the iCloud for Windows App (PC) to use the new feature of upload/download to iCloud photo library.

I activated the automatic download feature, and I'm still shocked!

All my deleted photos (even older then 30 days) are still there. All the pictures I deleted on my iPhone before, in aid of the iCloud photo library, is always there. They are now on my PC in the download folder.

This means that all of my photos are stored by Apple, even if I delete them!

PS: Sorry for my bad English language skills.

Yes, exactly the same problem here. Did you get a solution? I wonder if destroy our libraries all work...
