All my files are gone after doing a system restore

Tuesday, I spotted that I was behind on my updates so be fairly busy told windows draft.exe all and he then installed.
When I came back to my computer (after the restart). I found that windows had created a new user, Temp. On this temp Itunes was not installed and none were anything else.
I got itunes to add the library again and I continued a bit annoyed with Vista
Then I noticed that my hard drive was packed even if I had loads of free space. So I decided to do a system restore.
He got rid of the Temp and in the process most of my files.
After much research, I decided to cancel the restoration of the system think that logically it that would result is error.
Bad...
Cancellation of the restoration of the system made the rest of my files disappear.

I'm no expert, but I do not think that my files were gone I believe that something has happened in the root directory (hope only maybe blind).
When I search for my vista documents found, but if clicked told me that the item that this shortcut refers to has been changed or moved, so this shortcut no longer works correctly.

If anyone can help?

Hello

You can try some third-party data recovery software which is available free on the Net and try to recover the lost files. You can access the link below and download the file and check if the files can be recovered.

  • Satellite L500-13D: all programs & settings are gone after upgrade to Windows 7

    Hello.

    My laptop is Satellite L500-13D

I've upgraded to WINT in VISTA using official TSB upgrade disk.
It seems that something was wrong. Win7 installed properly, but unfortunately all installed programs and settings are gone.
I see also that when the upgrade $directories on C: and E partitions have been created; programs and older files are there.

    A few questions:

    1. is there a way to return return programs?
    2. how to create the recovery disks now under WIN7, because there is no CREATOR of TOSHIBA RECOVERY more?
    3. download TOSHIBA RECOVERY CREATOR?

    Hi mate

Have you read the manual that came with the laptop and Windows 7 upgrade disc?

After an upgrade to Windows 7 you need additional disk with the upgrade tools that came with the Windows 7 upgrade disk.

    > 2. How to create the recovery disks now under WIN7, because there is no CREATOR of TOSHIBA RECOVERY more?
This is not possible because the recovery disk must be created at first running the operating system preinstalled by Toshiba.

    > 3. Download TOSHIBA RECOVERY CREATOR?
If I know that cannot be downloaded.

      -or-

    • Click Start, point to programs, point to Accessories, point to System Toolsand then click on Disk Cleanup.

  • All hidden files are visible after the command help

    Hello
When I removed all my files were hidden 'newfolder.exe' virus and I have should use a command in cmd to display them.
After each use attrib command ([driveletter]:------attrib - r - a-s - h) my files are back but all files hidden, including the file system and the album art and etc are too visible

How can I solve this problem?

    Thank you

    Hello

Windows has the ability to hide all system files, it's looking at the properties of each file to see if the checkbox 'hidden' or 'system' is defined.

The command you used all the flags hidden / system removed from all files on your entire hard drive. There is no way to undo what you have (except the System Restore, if necessary). The reverse of the order hiding everything, including your files.

The preferred method to hide or display files is to go to Folder Options and together to "hide system files and hidden", but this will not help now, because you corrupted the data he uses by running this command.

If the system restore will not roll back to before running this command, you will need to manually enter each file and re - configure these options.

  • All my files are gone!

Only, I logged on my iMac and a pop-up displayed saying 300 + files had been removed from my CC! All of my work! Gone! What should I do? I have work to the client out there for them to access. Most have been saved but not all... What is happening?

@shrekasaurous - if the items are removed from the creative Cloud Files folder on your computer, they go into the Archives of https://assets.adobe.com/files?filter=archive. You can restore the items from the Archive, and they will be synchronized to the creative Cloud Files folder.

  • IPod Touch App data files are saved by the XP system restore?

I lost the data files for the applications on my iPod Touch after a BSOD on XP so that the update to iTunes.

"Restore from backup" in iTunes restores only the empty files, due to him having a synchronization since the failure (iTunes replaces its unique to each sync backup file), so I'm now scrambling for an alternative.

What seems to offer the best chance is to do a system restore XP from a restore before the BSOD Point - but I don't know if the Restore Point contains a version of the iPod data files, which are stored in the hidden folder C:\\Documents and Settings\ (username) \Application Data\Apple Computer\MobileSync\Backup.

I found a note saying: the XP System Restore saves nothing of My Documents, but wonder if it means really nothing is recorded in Documents and Settings...

Can someone enlighten me as to the probability of the iPod Touch App data being in a Restore Point, please?

    Hi BrianCrabtree,

I suggest you to send your request to apple support because the problem is with IPod touch applications.

  • All my passwords are gone after the 32,0 even if privacy set to "remember history".

I used Firefox because it was introduced and he have to remember my password for as long as it was possible. Suddenly, last week, after the upgrade 32.0, all my passwords disappeared completely. I have the privacy settings on ' Firefox will be remember history. Why they disappeared, and how can I get back them? Is there anything harmful, I would be worried (could they were stolen)?

I am Windows 8.0 on a computer running 64-bit with 4 GB of RAM/1 TB HDD. Today, I upgraded to 32.0.1, but passwords are still missing. I have active Sync.

In an odd twist, I've updated to 32.0.1, restarted FireFox and still no password.

HOWEVER, after I restarted the computer, and then open Firefox, NOW my passwords appear (although, curiously, my open tabs were all closed).

    HELP, HELP

Try to force to close your mail. Tap the home button twice. Browse the overview of the application of messaging out of the screen to close. then press the home button to exit the mode. Try again.

If this does not work you can always use the webmail interface. I think that www.hotmail.com still works.

  • My computor would not start windows, so I got the opption to boot with the disc. But with the TI istalled a new windows 7 on my computor and all my files are gone. How can I get the file.

second copy of windows 7 has been installed. How can I retrieve my files from the old copy of windows 7

That depends on the options you chose when you made the installation.  If you chose to keep your old files, you can view the folder c:\windows.old .  If you opted to install on another partition, you can retrieve the files from the old partition.  Otherwise, you would have to have supported your computer before reinstalling.

When you got your system back as you, I invite you to buy an external hard drive, and a good backup 3rd party program. You can configure it to automatically do everything in time and frequency of your choice. External hard drives 1 TB are about $85 these days and a very good FREE backup program corresponds to the Easeus todo backup free of charge that you can download from

http://www.todo-backup.com/products/home/free-backup-software.htm . Who can make you save a lot of time and frustration, the next time something like this happens. Sooner or later, it happens to all computers for one reason or another.

    Good luck.

  • I use Lightroom 5 and all my files are gone.  I have all the pictures, but they are not classified more.  How can I get them back in their cases?

I downloaded the day before and everything was fine.  Open 5 Lightroom the next morning and all records have disappeared, spill of thousands of photos in "All photographs."  I also can not download for Lightroom more.  I get the message: the following files were not imported because they could not be read.  Thank you for your help.

A copy of Θcran of exactly what your LR screen looks like might help.

Do you still have the 'Files' header in the sidebar below featuring "all photographs"?

What happens if you right-click on the photo and select "go to folder in the library.

The error message on the new imports you report confusion often really means that LR cannot write where you tell him.

  • After doing a system restore factory on my toshiba satellite when my windows screen it asking admin password I tried the old but it won't work but I can get on in safe mode please help

    It is a toshiba satelliteL505D-Ls5001

When you perform a factory restore then all passwords are cleared and you are prompted for an account name (that you choose) and his password.

If you are prompted for a password to an existing account, then you don't have a factory restore. Maybe you did a Windows restore to a Restore Point, in which case the password is the one that was current when the Restore Point was created.

If you can get in Mode safe under an admin account you can reset any desired password.

    Hi GeneVachon,

    1. you remember to make changes to the computer before this problem?

You can try a system restore to a previous point where you have not experienced the problem.

Note: When you perform the system restore to restore the computer to a previous state, programs and updates that you have installed are removed.

To run the system restore, you can consult the following link:
