All this began after I got rid of a bunch of malicious programs.

This could be a hardware problem unfortunately (has no module or graphic display error).

Is the problem if you start in safe mode?

There is a glimmer of hope that it could be a driver problem. If it's OK in safe mode, then it is to try a system restore to a well known date or try to update the graphics driver.

I move the file from my old PC which took place with Vista on a new computer running with Win 10 where I have Windows Live Mail is installed.  When I try to copy the files from Windows Mail on Vista on a USB key I get the message "you are about to copy this file without its properties".  After studying this issue on the forums, a proposed solution was to reformat the drive in NTFS format, I did.  This does not solve the problem.  Any suggestions?  Would it be OK in this case to ignore the message and copy the file without its properties?

Well data files/user of vista should work. Yes a NTFS format is good, go to run, or cmd, type:

  • How do you know if you run a file exe or vi

    My research skills suck today.

I'm building an exe using the path of the application to find some files that must be included.  It works very well in the exe, but when the VI changes all paths are broken due to the path of the application.  But I remember a time someone has a way to tell if you were running the program as an exe file or a VI.  Then when the program starts, it can choose to use correct paths.

Any ideas on how to do this?  Or is there a better way to run the program as a VI and an exe without breaking the railways?

    Thank you

Remove a property of the class "Application" node, select Application-> kind.  The output is an enum of the vs Runtime vs student development vs Embedded... you get the idea.

  • All programs try to open with IExplorer

Can someone help please, I am open to all ideas. Everytime I try to run a program, for example, itunes, DBMS, even freshly downloaded antimalware software, the program will attempt to use iexplorer to run. This will cause iexplorer attempt to download the program already installed and run or save. If I choose to run this program, it will continue this cycle. If I save it, a copy will be saved in a folder.

I hope that there is a way to simply reset my settings so that my programs open where they open instead of in iexplorer.

I have windows vista 32 and iexplorer 8. I use bitdefender to search for viruses etc every day.

    Hi Kbuck6,

This looks like a file association problem.

    1. Click Start > default of programs.
    2. Choose associates a set of file or Protocol with a program.
    3. There, you should check the file extensions and the default program for it.
For example, if you find a .docx default program file should be Word.

See what's available if you go down the path of the Startup Repair.

Startup Repair is a Windows Recovery tool that can fix certain problems, such as missing system files or damaged, that might be preventing Windows to start.

Have you tried running your machine in the Windows environment?  If you have an installation DVD that you can start (or an option of startup repair via the F8 Safe Mode screen), try running the command prompt, among the options provided when you walk down the path of the Startup Repair. Do not perform the Startup Repair, just pick up and go to the option to the command line (from to choose a recovery tool dialog box) and try to run Chkdsk C: /r from the.

If you think that it is a worm or a virus, you can run a standalone virus scanner that starts from a CD/DVD or USB

key. You need a working PC to create the media on.

    This is a stand-alone scanner: https://connect.microsoft.com/systemsweeper

And here is the process of creation of the standalone scanner documented with screenshots:

You say that the PC does not start at all ATMs, which could also be caused by hardware or disk corruption problems.

To see if his corruption of the disk, a secure boot (F8) and select "command prompt only. Then at the command prompt

    type: chkdsk c:

It will then check the file system on drive C: for problems and if possible correct them.

    If it's a hardware problem... I can't.

    I wish you good luck.

    Hi windy-54,

-What do you mean when you say "everything on the left side of the screen disappeared and all programs not recover"? Does this mean you "Start" menu is empty?
-What is the exact error that you receive while you are trying to search for programs on the computer?

Write us with more information pertaining to the matter to help us help you better. Meanwhile, scan your computer to clean the virus or malware that touched it.

You can use the Microsoft security scanner to do the same.

  • copying a disc - __copied photos on computcomputer with Windows XP-computer Vista laptop and will not open the program

Copied pictures on a computer using Windows XP

Disc will not load on my laptop with Vista

Is there a program to load the disk or is it just copies of some images.  So just copies, then the disc will not 'load' because there is no program to run.  Insert the disc in the drive and click Start / computer / player Disck and right click it and select Explorer.  You should be able to see the folders and files with your photos.  You can or the disc appears to be blank or missing?

If the problem is that by clicking on the file does not open a program to display it, and then confirm that your Vista machine has software installed to read the file type of the images (they may require that you get a different software to view what they are).

If this isn't the problem, try to copy some files from the disc to your desktop computer and try to open them from there and see if that makes a difference.  If so, then there is a problem with the drive to recognize the types of files, and then by selecting the appropriate program.  You should maybe go to the web site of the manufacturer of the drive and download any driver, firmware and suitable for the machine AND your version of Vista.  Install it and see if that makes a difference.  Check out a few other discs and see if you have the same problem with them or if it's only this one disc.

What type of disc is (CD, CD - R, CD - RW, DVD,...)?  Confirm that you can read stll the drive on the XP machine.  Do you get the error on each machine and if so what do say EXACTLY?

I hope this helps.  If not, tell me what happened with each step and try to answer all my questions.

    Good luck!

What virus? How do you know if you're a? What anti-virus program
    are you running?

It is very rare that you need to reinstall Windows because you are
infected by a virus. A good antivirus program should be able to
Remove it for you, and it is much easier to reinstall
Windows, reinstall all your programs, reloading of your data backups.
install the necessary drivers, etc.. And reinstall Windows often leads
    to its own problems.

but I'm not sure how to reload Windows. I have a product key but no disc because it came not preloaded on the laptop.

You probably have a recovery partition which is there to be used for
This effect. Read the manual of your laptop computer or contact the manufacturer
for instructions on how to do it.

The manual also has instructions on how to burn the content of the
This partition on a DVD, so you'll have something so hard drive
crashes. Who should be the first thing you did when you got
the computer and if you have not yet done so, you should do so as soon as POSSIBLE.
