AMD Radeon HD 6700M for Elitebook HP 8760W

I bought a HP Elitebook 8760W.

8 Windows tells me that the video card is an AMD Radeon HD 6700 M adapter. The store who sold me the laptop told me that book contains an adapter of over-pants of AMD. I tried the drivers for both.

Hoewever when I try to install the AMD Catalyst Center for this device, I get an error message telling me that the AMD Mobility software may not be installed because my computer has incompatible hardware.

Should what drivers I install?

I recently updated my Hp Pavilion DV6t 6077 - which windows 7 to windows 8 pro. Everything was fine, until I noticed that one of my grpahics card did not work. Now, only my ATI Radeon card works, but the AMD Radeon 6600 M 6700 M series no longer works since the upgrade. Help, please!

I am proud to say that I finally found the answer to this annoying problem. What you have to do, believe me, it worked for me, is that you must upgrade to Windows 8.1. After you are done, download the drivers for your model specific TO the COMPUTER, NOT from AMD WEB site. If it's for Windows 7, it does not matter. Download it. Once it is downloaded, run it in compatibility with Windows 7 and with administrator rights mode. Then, as usual, follow the steps and restart

    Hope this will help you.

  • AMD radeon driver of hp on the latest kernel?

    Hi all

(Note: my experience with linux is modest, but I'm willing to learn a few tricks and configuration from the command line.) I am familiar with the command-line of daily use)

I recently installed SP1 SLED11 and updated the system through Yast Online Update. My current kernel is so 2.6.32.36 - 0.5 - default. My system is a HP Probook 6560 b, with an AMD HD 6470 M card.

I think I have a problem with the graphics card driver, because:
-Yast > graphics card utility tells me I have a framebuffer VESA, not AMD graphics. »
-the control center > display is not working properly: the monitor is marked 'unknown', and neither resolution, refresh or rotational frequency is adjustable.
    - But my screen with good resolution (1600 x 900).

HP now provides a driver for my graphics built for SUSE Linux:

    HP ProBook 6560 b Notebook PC *-* AMD Radeon HD 6470M for Linux SUSE Novell SLED 11 SP1 (2.6.32.27 - 0 K...,)

However, it is built for the kernel 2.6.32.27 - 0, while my kernel is 2.6.332.36 - 0.5, as shown above.

My question is: if I can install this driver or it will fail because of incompatibility of nucleus?

    Concerning
    Andreas Hauge

It is said that there is a graphics driver that is already installed. Ok..

    EndSection

    SectionDevic

    BoardName "Framebuffer Graphics.

    Pilot "fbdev".

    Identifier "Device [0].

    Screen 0

    VendorName "VESA".

Rename the driver means that you rename the driver in this section. I don't know why, but sometimes when you install a graphics driver, it does not change the xorg.conf file and you need to configure it yourself.

Rename the driver should look like this:

    EndSection

    SectionDevic

    BoardName "Framebuffer Graphics.

    Driver "radeon".

    Identifier "Device [0].

    Screen 0

    VendorName "VESA".

    or

    EndSection

    SectionDevic

    BoardName "Framebuffer Graphics.

    Driver "radeonhd".

    Identifier "Device [0].

    Screen 0

    VendorName "VESA".

Restart and see what happens. Try the two options. If the driver already installed is ok, this can work. I would ask recovery disks or use a different linux...

  • HP 8200 elite CMT: can I use an external power supply for AMD Radeon HD graphics card 7770?

I have HP 8200 elite CMT CPU in which 320 watts PSU is installed. I want to use AMD Radeon HD 7770 requiring more power (minimum 400 watts power supply) for maximum performance. But the fact is, the higher Watt PSU is not available for my cpu because its cables do not match that. So I ask if I can use the external power supply to power my GPU instead of the CPU power. Will be this harm to my PC?

Kindly help me to solve this problem.

    Thank you

Thank you for the information, @haseebkhan7310.

I'm not a fan of using a separate power supply to power a video card.  It can cause problems.  However, here is a video that will show you how it can be done:

  • Pavilion 15-ab063cl: Amd Radeon r6 is it appropriate for the game (it's built)

I want to buy Pavilion 15-ab063cl and he have gpu amd Radeon r6. I want to know if it is integrated or not and if it is appropriate for the game?

    Thanks for help

It's graphic APU which meands it goes right into the processor. It is always integrated and not dedicated video and not intended for serious games. If you want to run really demanding games on a laptop you need a portable game special purpose-built and those experiencing a few dollars. HP makes a laptop 'game' that runs around $1500 and it is at best a thing of mid range lower, but still much better than what you are asking about. True gaming laptops start at $2000. The laptop you are asking on maybe run some games to lower settings very well. Integrated video is going is pretty good, but which is like saying you are high 'little person' of the world-not much.

Thanks for the reply! I used autodetect. Once again, it shows that I have AMD Radeon R5 M430, AMD Radeon R5 M330 once, and one that I don't have the AMD hardware actually. In the specifications provided by the store descrete graphics availble to AMD. • The best replacement for an AMD Radeon 8670 D integrated graphics

I have a HP ENVY AMD A10 - 6700 3.7 GHz APU with integrated graphics AMD Radeon 8670 D. I have 16 GB of RAM and a 300 Watt power supply. I am running windows 8.1, the machine is surprisingly fast and HD is decent integrated graphics have come a long way! I don't play games but don't watch much programming on my HDTV. So I wonder what would be the best graphics card which is $ 100 or less with what I have, I have a PCIe x 16 slot 2.0 I think. And please recommend a food FRO the card. Thanks in advance, josh

You are welcome.  Thank you for the additional information.

Your budget makes it a bit difficult to find a video card that would meet your needs.  However, here is a card which I think will do what you need.  Read the reviews to see what users have to say about it.  It requires only a power supply (PSU) 350W runs correctly.  So it's up to you, but you might try to see if it works with the existing PSU.  If you have problems with installation, see the guide I provided in my previous post carefully.

Now, if you decide to buy a power supply, I love OCZ and Corsair.  They are passionate about quality for a good price.  The PSU is not the place to save money in a computer.  It is the backbone.  I suggest at least 500W.  This will give you some leeway for future updates.  The OCZ PSU's modular.  They are good in a smaller housing because you only use the cables needed.

Or y at - it a solution for this? As this secondary graphic card was much stronger than the native Intel one and if I can't get the drivers for it support so it may be a deal breaker for Windows 8. Can anyone help?

    Thank you

    Hi, Dale:

This AMD/Intel switchable graphics driver should work with Windows 8.

I don't know if it will work with W8.1.

  • HP ENVY 15-j007cl: AMD Radeon HD 8650 G update for HP ENVY 15-j007cl

For a few years now, I've owned an HP ENVY 15-j007cl (not the touchscreen version). For most all my purposes, the laptop works very well. This includes almost all the PC games that I am committed to.  This laptop has a processor AMD A10 - 5750M 2.50 GHz with an AMD Radeon HD 8650G integrated graphics card graphics card. This card can run almost anything on middle/low graphic... almost.

Now here's the crazy thing. I swear that when I bought this laptop, something that came with it said that it was possible to update or add an additional graphics card. This isn't an easy feat for most laptops I have ever been. I wonder if someone can confirm that it is possible on this model, and if so, the recommendations would be welcome.

This is definitely a safe assumption - sorry not to be more clear!

The vast majority of laptops have graphics integrated without space for additional cards, which means replace the processor in order to improve their graphics.

There are actually ways to add a graphics card with external adapters, but these are really is only useful if you try to add an additional screen. This article at PC Advisor covers this topic: LINK

I bought this laptop a month back and still not able to understand the problem with the video driver.

    Laptop model - http://www.dell.com/support/drivers/us/en/19/Product/inspiron-15-3537

    Help, please.

I called Dell phone Support and they helped me solve the problem.

    Solution: -.

Step 1 - updated BIOS to latest version

Step 2 - before you install the AMD driver, install the Intel HD Graphics driver 4400 (most of people think that is not necessary because we have a dedicated external AMD card. "It was my mistake too). You can download it from Dell support.

Step 3 - install AMD Radeon HD M 8670 driver

And yeppy it works! Windows experience index has a flexible 6.5 for the games graphics on Win 7
