• Computer stuck in screen AMIBIOS

  Good evening.   This PC is about 10 years old and still works fine. I expect to give it a little more speed with a processor upgrade.

  I don't think there is a way that error autour and IMO, the specs are incorrect.

  I say this because the processor you have installed is released after the date of the BIOS version installed on your PC.

  If you want to take a gamble, a safe bet would be 650 P4, and they are cheap and plentiful on eBay.

  Here is a comparison of the two processors.  The 650 is still less than 2 watts. Same speed, same cache and same FSB

• Beep codes for Gateway ZX-6980

  Hello:

  My Acer/Gateway ZX-6980 sometimes refuses to start and emits 4 beeps immediately after I push the power button.  For troubleshooting, anyone know what that beep code means for this particular motherboard?

  I believe that the system has an AMIBIOS, which shows this following:

  4 short timer failure

  The timer/clock system IC does not or there is an error of memory in the first Bank of memory.

  Only one "blip" is used as a "system ready" sound and will continue to start.

• Acer Aspire M1201

  I have this desktop computer (M1201-BE5000A).  I get an error on startup stating: WARNING! The chassis has been opened press F1 to continue press DELETE to enter setup menu.  This has happened after I replaced the motherboard battery because the Date time & would return to 2008 when the power was cut.  I have replace the battery has not fixed the problem.  It was a CR 2032 battery.  The computer works well when I hit F1.  The Bios is American Megatrends.  AMIBIOS (C) 2008.  The OS is Windows 7.  The above error prevents an Auto Reboot as you enter F1 or del to continue.  Someone at - he seen or know a solution to this problem?

  When I reflashed the bios to the latest download (with great difficulty because the Readme did not return for windows 7) it cured the problem.

• Install XP: Setup did not find any hard disk installed

  I have this old computer. When I try to install Windows Xp, it says that Setup did not find any hard disk. I have readers of diskette and cd on the computer. A source told me that I need a SATA RAID driver until I do.

  Correct, you will need to download the appropriate TXTmode drivers and put them on a floppy disk. If you have a MSI motherboard in your system, you will get these drivers from MSI.

  It would be also possible to get Windows to load with a change in your BIOS settings, but I recommend that get you the correct drivers.

  Next: "Testing: path of the boot!" WARNING - BIOHD-2 error code.   WARNING: no hard drive detected ", followed by proposals to check the cables, etc.."

  I opened the system unit and disconnected - reconnected the two connectors on the h/d.  checked sound & vibration watch Variator is running.

  Also checked "Boot Device Priority:

  3rd > [group floppy]-[not installed]

  Found a few useful tips on PC Help Forum, but advice required to enter the BIOS Setup, and I have not found a way to get into that.  Some of the function keys don't seem to work.  ????

  Would be very happy to suggest further repair attempts.

  Normally, the BIOHD-2 error message indicates that the hard drive has failed.  Here's a guide to help you run the SMART for the reader of the BIOS test.  If you get a similar error message, you must replace the hard drive.  Also, here is a guide to help the recovery of the system once the drive has been replaced.

• Networking freezes completely, only restart allows

  before I changed the power supply and now after that I sometimes find my network frozen (after I have unlock my computer and sign in again - maybe it is related to saving energy?) and frozen to - I mean completely unreversable frozen - network adapters are displayed (internet) to work but nothing connects and says my VPN "could not resolve host name to connect to. , I can turn my network cards but when I try to reactivate them (connect) - window "connection" just stay permanently be visible and nothing happenes (and it cannot be closed) and if I try to reboot\shutdown - I get BSOD DRIVER_POWER_STATE_FAILURE tcpip.sys + 156 B 5, I have two NICs - a built-in and one pci-e (tried to delete one - did not help) tried to open the Device Manager and refresh the - freezes up, tried to stop the service in services.msc netowrking - stop freezes and never ends (tried a few other - stopped very well services)

  latest drivers for network cards, install all windows updates. I have a desktop PC under 24\7, locking (win + L) for the night.

• CS4 error when using Jquery UI calendar

  HI - hope this is the right forum to post this request - I've just upgraded to DW - CS4 and started playing with some of the new widgets - I have already a page to which I applied the widget JQuery UI calendar that is cleaner than the date picker I was using. This page has a number of links in dbase to get data in multiple tables - all these are functional if I don't change them. However if I try to make a change that I made for record DW insert behavior when I select 'sign in' to choose the database of this error message occurs:

  Ah, read your original post more carefully, I see what is happening.
  The JavaScript error you mention is normally caused by a corrupted
  file cache, but it seems that this happens only when you try to
  change an insert record server behavior.

  Without setting up a similar page myself, I can't confirm if this
  is reproducible. My advice would be to apply the widget once you have
  finished editing the server behavior. In theory, there should not be any
  conflict between a jQuery widget and server behaviors, but it is
  the kind of thing that comes out only after tests in-depth.
