AMT-12502: TNS:listener received no CONNECT_DATA customer
Hello!I have problem with Oracle 9i listener on my database server. Aplication tracking NOC we use creates too many listener with message TNS-12502 journal entries: TNS:listener received no CONNECT_DATA customer who produce listener failover (stop). I think that application instead of the listening port of pin code, it connects and disconnects. This application monitors devices on server several times per minute (I don't know exactly because the application is not on our side Server).
That is why main application or maybe I could do something to our side?
Thank you!

AMT-12505 in listener.log opening SqlDeveloper 2.1 (maybe a bug?)
Hi I have a strange problem:
1 download sqldevloper
2 create a connection by using the connection type is TNS. Select an entry in my tnsnames.ora to connect to a distance X (service_name specified) on the server Y. The first strange thing is that all the entries in the tnsnames file appears two times.
3 if I test the connection, it works...
4 close sqldeveloper
5 when I opened sqldeveloper (just open the program without connecting to anything) I get no errors, but I see in my listener.log (Server Y):
DIC / 04/2009 11:39:31 * (CONNECT_DATA = (SID = null) (CID = (PROGRAM =) (HOST = __jdbc__)(USER=null))) * (ADDRESS = (PROTOCOL = tcp (PORT = 2285))(HOST=192.168.8.105)) * establish * zero * 12505
AMT-12505: TNS: listener non ha solved SID when nel descrittore di hotel
192.168.8.105 is my ip address
I do not understand why it uses SID = instead of = SERVICE_NAME
If I place the cursor of the mouse on the connection icon (without clicking) I see an error TNS-1252 with the desripter connection: Y, 1521, NULL (I think this null value causes all these problems).
Why? When opens in sqldeveloper, it try to test the connection?
Even if it's like that the connection will work: if I try to connect whit has respect, everything works fine.
Am I doing something worng? This is a bug?
With SqlDeveloper 1.5, everything works fine. Everything is the same, so I guess it's a problem of the new version (2.1).
Oracle of Oracle 10.2 client, SqlDeveloper, Version 2.1.0.63, Windows XP Professional Service Pack 3
Hope someone can help me, if something is not clear I can post more details (just tell me what you need).
Thank you, best regards better.

I can reproduce this problem.

Cannot start the listening service.
Working with Oracle Database 11 g 2 on Windows 7.
I just installed Oracle with the option "install the software only.
You have already configured the instance, the database, the views of the dictionary, etc.
Created tsnames.ora and sqlnet.ora, listener.ora as shown below.
Before installing Oracle, I followed the instructions on Oracle
documentation to install a loopback adapter.
It is set up as the main Board as indicated on the
instructions. The name is "gabylan" (before the computer
called "P4". I created the 'hosts' file as noted, the oracle_hostname
variable, etc as you will see below. I don't know if it is important to 'Uncomment '.

Hello
First check that your asm is listening on listening port scan. If it is installed by default, so I suggest you change "(HÔTE = ucbdata-scan) ' to the local host where the asm instance"
second thing is there is typo in your tnsnames file. change this part "(SERVICE_NAME = ASM)" to "(SERVICE_NAME = + ASM).
It may be useful
See you soon

ORA-12514, TNS:listener is not currently of service request
Forgive my potential stupid question... I'm trying to connect to oracle via sqldeveloper on oel5u6
When I use SID connection works, but when I use the name of the Service (the windows of useon an i) it gives the error below why?
Status: Failed - Test has failed: listener refused the connection with the following error: ORA-12514. TNS:listener is not currently of service requested in connect descriptor.
We use SIDS on the boxes of linux and name service on windows boxes? enjoy the lights. TQ
SqlDeveloper 3.0.04 OEL5u6

Host: hostname: oel5u6.localdomain (tried all other combos too either localhost, ip etc. address.)
Port: 1521
service name: orcl
provided all the details... do some research forums too... still no luck

Edited by: Oracler December 24, 2011 12:43 AMWhat happens if you do sqlplus u/p@orcl on the Linux machine?
It seems that the name of your service is actually orcl.localdomain. It is perhaps that the remote connection has no need of the domain name, but a local connection only.
This isn't really a problem SQL Developer. You can get the best answers in the database - general forum.
