  You should contact your hosting and Network Solutions company (where you have registered the domain name) to ensure that the correct name servers have increased to oyafilm.com. Until this issue is resolved, it is impossible to untangle why Dreamweaver cannot connect.

  Recently, I started out of the blue to get this message when I try to connect to an FTP of Dreamweaver. I have CC was last updated.   None of these issues are causing the error in DW CS6. We double-checked all of them and we did everything right. Also I have exactly the same SiteSetup in DW CS4 and that works perfectly well. Might need to factor 6 which did not exist in the 4? Something that is not in the SiteSetup but in a hidden dialog box?

  I can also download my host using Fetch, a third party FTP. And like I said that DW CS4 works very well. So the problem is not with my host, sound with DW CS6 in particular.

  You are most likely missing something fairly simple (some goofy box cache you in some menus random). The best way to solve this problem, without playing 20 questions...

  1 open the site in DWCS4 and go to Site > Manage Sites > export to create a your site settings .ste file.

  2. close DWCS4 and open DWCS6

  3. go to the Site > Manage Sites > Import to import the .ste file to create a new site at DWCS6

  This will create an exact copy of your CS4 settings in CS6. If it still does not work, let know us and someone should have another idea for you.

  Having a problem displaying my HTML file in my local browsers, Firefox and IE.  Am not a user of Chrome.

  I click the "Preview in browser" blue globe and get the following error message:

  An FTP error occurred - cannot open file server/servername /.

  Access denied.  The file exists may not, or there could be a permission problem.

  Then the two browsers show 404 errors.

  Recently, I tried to set up a new server in DW with info provided by my ISP and who doesn't, it gives the same error, but I'm surprised to see that I can not even made in my local browser.  DW seems to be looking on the remote server, not the local browser.

  Your Site definition is messed up. I'm guessing that you have defined a Local test server when you shouldn't have.

  Local test servers are for developers who work with PHP files locally.  In addition, you don't need for static HTML files.

  For stable local and preview, you do not need a test server.

  To test remotely, download files to a TEST folder on your remote server.

  I suddenly started getting the "FTP error. Cannot make connection. "when trying to access a remote server in DW. Running Dreamweaver CC 2015 on Mac Yosemite. I tried the 'FTP access check' on the server FTP Test Adobe and got the same result. I can only assume that I have inadvertently changed some setting somewhere. No idea how I could find the flaw?

  I go back to Yahoo and checked all the connection details. I went back to scratch, changes of passwords and created a new connection and everything seems to work properly.

Whenever the Vista PC is started or out of hibernation, or after only a short period of time these discs are not available.   If I click on 'Network' within Solution Explorer, the XP PC is not visible. The only way that I can "reconnect" these disks is to go into my anti-virus (Trend) and open the network map. This shows the XP PC and then the shares are available through Explorer - XP PC is still not visible by clicking network however.

  It started only happens in the last two months - cannot locate exactly when, but quite recently. I use connections to store small files and backup critical files a few before nailing the laptop away and it is quite annoying to have to go through this routine every time.

  Any ideas?

  Just in case it helps others - I found that if I make sure that my XP PC has a fixed IP address, and then set up the shares so that they are defined using the IP address and not share names, then I do have more problems - seems like it's something to do with Windows solve the share names rather than something to do with the personal firewall after all.

  I have a Windows XP pro (Lenovo) that I recently ran the recovery and returned to certain configurations of 1.5 years.   I'm a novice, web development and the use of Dreamweaver, in general.  I am trying to connect to a remote server from HostGator using an FTP connection.  I followed all the steps listed on the Dreamweaver Tutorial/help site and I always have problems.  I tried troubleshooting based on the advice given and nothing seems to work, that is, turn off the firewall, the development of ports, etc..  When I "test" the connection, I get an FTP error.  I worked on it for 4 hours and can't seem to get anywhere.  Any help is very appreciated.  Thank you.

  With the help of:

  Windows 7

  Dreamweaver CS6

  McAfee virus protection

  Qwest as internet provider

  Site > Manage Sites > new...

  First, the DW tell where to find the files on your local site.

  C:\YourSiteName\

  Then go to the servers and configure your remote server information and login info.

  I'm sure that HostGator using public_html in your root directory of the site.  See screenshot below and replace htdocs\ by public_html\

  I am running with Vista SP 2 and since June, I have had many updates windows installation failures and get error 641 80070641 and just. Also have had difficulties to install other software. Tried to download Fixit but it wouldn't install and gave me an error 641 and message saying cannot connect to windows install and it could be installed incorrectly. I changed nothing because it has worked well. Also when I press start button to the right next to the stop etc. which is fior install and then stop includes an exclamation in yellow.  I hope someone can help, Murray
