Android phones file transfer help

Hello!
Last week, I had reformatted my windows xp computer. My android phone is a samsung Galaxy. Whenever my phone connects to the desktop computer, it syncs with windows media player. I find the windows media player seems difficult and terrible coolant for my music and videos. Before I had reformatted my computer, the phone would automatically connect and let me open its files in a folder as a removable storage device. However, everytime I open the icon of my computer, removable storage devices not display my phone as one of the options. I would go back to the old familiar features that I use all the time. Is there a method to allow my phone appears as a removable storage device?
Thanks for your time,
Anthony

    Hey there, Crutch03

If your keyboard does not work, can you try to use a USB keyboard?

Your touchpad does not work? Your touchpad on the Dell is the mouse, and usually, it lies below the space bar.

How long have you had this computer?

When did you start this problem?

The problem, I think, is with the keyboard. If it does not meet what buttons you press on, then this is the device, not the operating system.

If you do not have an external keyboard or mouse, you can plug in your laptop, please try following the steps in this Jack in charge article here: http://www.dell.com/support/article/us/en/19/SLN115351/en#Notebook_Keyboard

I hope that this will help solve the problem in a way. If the touchpad does not work, you can use the on-screen keyboard which can be found in the accessibility settings in the lower left corner of your screen, with a symbol that looks like this:

Please let me know how it turns out for you

  • File Transfer issue between 10.4.11 + 4.4 Android phone

    Hello.

I recently got a Polaroid link 6 "A6WH smartphone, Google Android KitKat 4.4 running, and despite being told of Polaroid that I should be able to transfer files (ie. photos, music, videos) between this phone and a G4 aluminum PowerBook running OS 10.4.11 (old, Yes, I know!), I can't. I was told that I have to download Android File Transfer, which I did, but it didn't work (it only works on OS 10.5). Android File Transfer is Version 1.0 - I don't think that there is no earlier version.

I tried to search on this forum and elsewhere online, some have suggested other programs, such as AirDroid, but when I tried to download them, they would not work with OS 10.4.11.

I was able to transfer files over a Bluetooth connection - and only from the computer (and not vice versa). The USB cable provided with the phone doesn't seem to work (anyway) without a program to make it easier.

Any suggestions for transfer files (ie. photos, music, videos) between these devices - via the USB port, or even simply through Bluetooth, back from the phone to the computer?

Also, are all the programs available to convert video to MP4 format files, as I can't get the phone to open any other format - BTW, free is better!)

Note: I would have gotten an iPhone, except for the fact that we tried to get rid of some AirMiles points that were about to expire, and they have not one!

    Thank you

I have (and have had) smartfones non-Apple for some time

To transfer ALL kinds of files, I just use an intermediary "cloud service".

Many here will advise you http://dropbox.com/ as a reliable and free service

    * NOTE: Dropbox is more supported by OS X Tiger with their desktop app - but access via the Web site is not affected (I use TenFourFox: a fork of Mozilla Firefox ESR 38 for Power Macintosh and Mac OS X Tiger PowerPC as a browser)

  • Error: "unable to start the service Object Push Profile (OBEX OPP)" when trying to transfer files from the Android phone via bluetooth

Original title: Android mobile phone via bluetooth, I get an error on my phone.

When I try to send a file by my Android phone to my laptop via bluetooth, I get an error on my phone saying "cannot start service Object Push Profile (OBEX OPP)". Reason: The return value is "false", but I can send files from my laptop to my phone OK.

    Hi steve3624,

We recommend to check if there is no parameter which must be activated on your phone, then try to transfer the file to your laptop.

We also advise to check if there are any service name Object Push Profile and start it. To do this, try the following steps:
    a. Click Start, type services.msc and press to enter.
    b. in the list of services, locate Object Push Profile service and double-click it.
    c. change the startup type to automatic and click on the Start button to start the service.
    d. click ok to apply the changes.

  • Can I save my favorites as html file android phone?

Is there a way to "Save" my favorites on my Android phone.
I want to be able to read, as you can with the desktop version, visible as a html file.

I have * not * want to sync with my laptop.

    Thank you.

As far as I know, it is not an easy process. As far as I know, there is not a direct approach. If you think that you are an advanced user, it can apply these:

    • First you have to find the browser.db, with the help of a powerful as Es File explore File Explorer or Z-archiver
    • The path of the file is / device / data / data / org.mozilla.firefox / files / mozilla / default
    • Then, download free SQLite Database Browser (http://sqlitebrowser.org/) for your laptop
    • Open browser.db with the app and export "bookmarks" table in an Excel table
    • You have a slight change in Excel and create. HTML file
    • Then, you can get your desired result!
