Angles of construction of the smart guides?

Hello

I was reading this article: How to use leaders, networks and guides in Illustrator

and got to the part about "construction angles.

I played with the angle values to see what they are but not seen any change in the behavior of the smart guide.

Other sites did not help me to understand.

Someone please would shed light "construction angles?

Thanks in advance

So the question is: why this works for me and not for you? (Also, I did with the countless times classes!)

Are commented on?

Are the Guides of Construction on?

Do you have an odd guide, like the 17?

You draw a shape a rectangle and deselect?

Then go to the line tool. Place your cursor over an anchor point. Smart Guides will tell "Anchor").

Hold down and drag and look at the ToolTip. When the ScreenTip says "17 °", the starting point of the line will say "Aligner 17 °" and the end will say 'On '.

I tried to draw a line where he was not related to another form, and it did not work. So look for the balloon "Anchor" before you start make sure that you begin on the anchor. Maybe it's the thing.

17 ° works with the tool pen, but the angles of degree do not appear in the ToolTip. Therefore know where (17). Then he snaps. So, try first the online tool.

It works now?

  • The Smart Guides suddenly disappeared

Is anyone know anything on this subject? I'm working on a project and using smart guides, but all of a sudden they disappeared. I don't know what I was doing, the Smart Guide is always checked in the display panel, and if I open a new document, they work fine again. Any ideas what other settings I need to check?

    Susn,

You can check view > snap to grid. If so, uncheck the box and enjoy.

  • Why the Smart Guides work on some objects, but not others?

Hello world. I try to use benchmarks commented to help me align a small arc in a corner, so I can merge into a larger shape. Well, I got my bow on one of the anchor points and I drag the path to full fitness, but no hanging, no label 'path' or 'intersection' appears. I have all the options for Smart Guides is checked and I've got Snap to Point activated but still no luck. It's a precise alignment, a guessing game. Any idea? -Mike

  • The Smart Guides do not work

My smart guides do not work. Since I loaded CS5, they did not work. If you go to view > grids and Guides > smart guides are grey.

So if you go to control panel > Display Options, the guides are not grey out, that they are verified.

I looked around and read trying to figure out whats up with these guides, but have not found anything works. I also uninstalled InDesign and reinstalled. This stall was not working.

If anyone has an idea why or how to get the guides to work it would be great.

  • Anyway to temporarily ignore the smart guides using the tool pen?

I have a love relationship with the guides and hatred. When I want to that they're bad; When I'm not good they are.

While trying to do things with the pen tool, I am often confronted with smart guides snapping my tool around without the broken my volition. I'm not really good with the pen tool yet, so it is making a more difficult climb when they interfere.

Now, I know I can disable smart guides by doing Ctrl-U, but it has side effect of my pen from the current curve I'm free. When I click on the end of this curve to start where I left off, it changes the anchor in a corner instead of curve and mess up what I was going to. Would not a problem except that I sometimes envy the guides while I'm still on the same curve so I don't want to not completely turn them off as I work and I have to then reactivate to correct a task, know what I mean?

Yes, is there a key that I can hold to temporarily turn turn off smart guides or ignore them somehow? I met quite a few keys that try so I think not. This probably indicates that I just need to improve my skills to learn to work with it better.

At least until 13 Illustrator, it's a trick or rather an ugly hack that is to align it on the gate drive and talent to temporarily disable all the features of smart guides. The following must be prepared in case you run the hack as an action:

    1. in the actions Palette, create a new action game. Call it "turn off Smart Guides.

2 in all scripts, create a new action. Call the 'Disable Smart Guides', assign an F key to action, say F3 and press ENTER.

    3. in the actions Palette menu, and then select the command insert a Menu item and go to view > snap to grid

    4 stop action recording

    5. go in Edition > Preferences > Guides & grid

    6. in the grid of each text box, enter 0.01 mm. This is the minimum value that you can set here.

    7. in the text box of Subdivisions, enter 1000, maximum value accepted here.

Now, take any document, turn on smart guides, make sure that snap to grid is turned off, and start drawing a path. Press F3 and continue the way of drawing. Press F3 again as soon as you still need your guides.

As you can see, after hit F3 to snap to grid, the path will not be interrupted when you place the next point. And you have a sort of microscopic parameters of the grid, snap to grid has almost no influence on which points are placed. Actually, he clings still, but because of absurd grid settings, it is rather negligible.

Of obvious workaround was originally invented by a young lady, located near Edmonton in the Canada.

  • Cannot align objects or paths to guide the intersections with the smart guides (or at all)

In artificial intelligence, the guides indicate "intersection" when I paint a path or moving an object to align to the intersection of the two guides, when I release the mouse, the object button, I go/design jumps slightly the intersection of planned alignment.  IFIs continue to try to move to align, it jumps to the other side or back to where she was, but Word will correspond to the intersection. What I am doing wrong?

You gould helped snape to grid and a grid of pixels. If not, keep in mind that the alignment feature is dependent on the zoom level.

    Hi all.

Today, my smart guides do not work. The feature is checked in the menu, as always, all preferences are the same as always, but still - without slamming. Does anyone else know this? Any cure?

    I'm on a MacBook Pro 17 ", Yosemite 10.10.5, Illustrator 2015.1.0.

Very annoying. Grateful for any help.

The smart guides cooperating with Snap on the grid. Be sure to turn it off.

  • Smart guides appears

    Hello

Smart Guides are not displayed when I use Adobe Illustrator CC.

There were several messages in this forum that suggest the filming of 'snap to grid' and double check the preferences of guides are on. I did both and provided screenshots.

The Smart Guides is a very important feature for me. I need urgent back on.

  • Smart Guides, not this chip?

Problem: Can't break Center of a curcle of a multi-angle (45 and 90 degrees) path

Program and device for details: Illustrator CS6 running on an iMac 2009 (3.06 Ghz Processer and 16 GB of RAM)

I have worked with AI years but don't remember running into this problem, but it seems so simple. When I click, hold and drag the center of the circle on the slanted way he claims is not yet there. But when I do a straight line of logo, the circle will break to this path. So my question is, commented even for this (and if so, how) or is it a glitch with the new CS6?

I've experimented with Smart Guide preferences, but nothing seems to work. If you have any comments please let me know.

Here is a picture of the object and the access path, I am breaking:

They have changed the behavior of the Smart Guides with CS5, I think. (It was perhaps CS4) In some circumstances, you must maintain cmd so he could snap.

If this does not work, there's compound shapes that surround the indicated area for this?  Sometimes, they can be invisible to the clicks and snaps block, even if there is nothing visible...

Is this a bug? Is it possible to fix this?

[Moved from all Adobe lounge to a specific support by product - MOD forum]

As I wrote this seems to be the way of all versions of Photoshop that has a guide to chip works.  I don't think it's a bug.  You can try to report it as a bug or request a change on the site of Adobe's Photoshop family feedback.

  • I don't see Smart Guides around all the objects on the artboard even if the guides are checked in view

    Hello

First of all, I don't pretend to be some illustrator expert but I have a good understanding of the functions of Adobe Illustrator key.

However, when I went to design a logo yesterday, I don't see smart guides (blue lines, see below with all selected items) around all the objects on the artboard even if the guides are checked in order. I do not expect the controls on each being showing unless they are selected, but I do that I expect to see the blue line itself.

I contacted the Adobe Illustrator Chat but really, they do not seem to have a clue and seemed to be intentionally misunderstanding me despite the fact that I sent this image. They were also quite rude!

In any case, I'm now desperate so someone here can help me please.

    Thank you very much

    Mike

PS I looked everywhere online for a solution and tried some of those suggested but without success.

You may not see an unselected object with no line or fill in preview mode (this is why it is called overview).

You can select it when you don't have fill and stroke in the tools Panel and choose: select > same > background & contour.

  • Problem with the culmination of anchor on mouse over NOT see the edges or smart guides

    Hello

I consider myself pretty good at Illustrator, but have encountered a problem where I hit a shortcut that prevents anchors put in evidence when I move the mouse over it.

The problem is NOT due to see the edges or smart guides being off, as have been said by the other threads.

This problem also prevents me from adding anchors on the lines.

    HELP ME PLEASE! So desperate

    See you soon,.

    Sophie

In the screenshot the selected object has loads of points visible highlighted - when it is not normally look like this.

So I thought about it, "Snap to Grid" was selected

    All fixed now

  • Turn off smart guides break the line pen

Everyone has noticed that if you spend smart guides with or not (Cmd + U) as you draw with the pen tool, it breaks the path. You have to go back and draw the last anchor point. Sometimes the guides help, they are sometimes a pain, depending on the part of a path you draw, so it is useful to be able to turn them on or off while you draw. Is there a solution? (CS3).
