Animate a value scale mask path and point - help

Hey all,.

I was hoping to get clarification on some animation that I'm doing it in AE. I'm animating the scale of an image to move from large to small while using a mask in this topic. When I create keyframes I also create for the mask path keyframes and adjust accordingly, but it's something strange. It seems to be adding some sort of strange acceleration effect do not know what else to call it, which causes the trace of mask to develop first and then shrink. I have only 2 keyframes for the track, mask and 2 for the image scale neiter have had any type of assignment of keyframe animation applied to them (regular keyframes). It's as if she started scaling the mask path upward. I did this process with the position and the track of the front mask and had no problems.

Anyone have any idea why he would do that. I tried to look elsewhere for an answer with no luck, any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you.

Is there maybe a way to disconnect the mask of the object so that the mask is no longer the effects of animation of the scale?

Duplicate your layer and one with the mask to use as a matte for the other.

  • Mask path is not correctly copy to a position of the Null object

I created a mask path to an animated logo which is the basic text. To track the letters correctly I created a mask path and used the handles of the tangent to the curve at the edges.

When I copy the mask on a position of objects Null path, it copies OK but all the curves have disappeared. I tried to adjust again with the tangent handles, but it does no good curves, they are still gaps. Is it possible to copy the mask path and keep the curves? I have attached a few photos so that you can see the difference between the two. Any help on this would be appreciated.

    AHHHH I got it!

the reason you see this jagged line is the time interval by default of the path to the technique of the post is 2 seconds and there is not enough frames here to cover everything that you hide the curves of the path to a path of accurately. It must simply more images to interpolate exactly as you drew it since there many vertices and not enough frames to store this information in. as soon as you drag the last keyframe of a more reasonable of images amount, your tween will be fine and not serrated.

short time duration - less frames - motion in stairs:

longer time - more pictures - smooth motion:

Why? How can he stick more small and somewhere else? I guess that this model will be used as a model nested within a model of other dimensions.

Make sure that this model dimensions and pixel format matches the layer.  The traced effect should then work correctly.

If you want to use the effect on another layer - a solid, perhaps--make - you use the size of the model for solid.

There are three tools of anchor Point.

Add the anchor Point should work (only) on the path between the existing Anchor Points. Removal of Point of anchorage and Point Director conversion should work (only) on exoisting Anchor Points.

  • Convert a path in the shape of a mask path

It is a question that has been requested before, but as far as I know, has not received a satisfactory answer.

So I have a rectangle that I made in a shape layer, and I want to it by using the effect of the race, because I need the form to scale, and I found that the scales from the standard race in a shape layer when you turn the STROKE layer

But with him being a shape path and a parametric shape path that I can't copy/paste this shape as a mask.

    At this point, @Todd_Kopriva

usually appears to copy and paste the following text:

"command to convert a path of the parametric form of a Bezier curve layer:

You can convert a path of a Bézier path after the path has already been created by context-click (right-click or control-click on Mac OS) the Group of properties for the path (for example, the Rectangle drawn 1) and choosing convert Bézier path command in the context menu. If the path is animated (retouching), converted Bézier path is a static path based on the way at the present time; keyframes are lost. »

Who indeed converts the path, as far as I can see, but unfortunately this does not seem to help me pass this way in a mask layer

    Any ideas?

PS someone else has a really weird problem with this forum where you will write a response and everything suddenly find your cursor/Carat jumped a few lines and you type half an answer at the end of a previous line?

I went through this dozens of times on this forum. To be successful, you need to set a keyframe. Here goes:

    1. Select your shape (Rectangle 1) and right click and select Convert to Bezier path
    2. Open the Rectangle 1 path and set a keyframe
    3. Copy
    4. Select the layer that you want to add a mask of
    5. Choose the pen tool
    6. Click anywhere on the layer to set the first vertex
    7. If you try to put a mask on a shape layer, you must reset the pen tool to create a mask instead of a new form, before setting the first vertex
    8. Dough

That's all. Works every time. The only problem is that the layer you add the mask must be posted on the default transformation and the shape layer, that you have copied from must also be to default transformations. That and everything works every time.

  • Scale mask helps

I'm new on aftermath so it's probably easy, but I can't understand it.

I'm trying to animate the path which is to set the mask while keeping the exhibit under the same size (so with the time just expose more in addition to the object under). Here's a simple illustration of what I'm talking about. So it would seem that if you fly in the star, then through the star to the scene behind.   This seems very simple, but I can't understand it.

The only option animateable I can find what makes something similar is the expansion "mask", but that distorts the shape of the path as it becomes increasingly wide (the star in this case would not stay a star, she develops into a circle).  Also if I transform the 'ladder', then he will scale the entire layer, not the mask path.

So, any help would be appreciated.

Also if there is an effect that can be added to add depth the the object hidden it would be great to know as well. (So, in this case, a way to add the thickness of the gray. This thickness would be noticed that you've been through).  I am trying to create the sensation of flying in an object similar to fly through a window or corridor running to the scene behind. If you know a tutorial would be great.

    Thank you.

I see that Todd has responded and you related to a thread with options. Here are the ones I have had typed place before her answer (some of them are in the link he put, but not all).

Option 1: Make the layer gray a 3d layer and fly your After Effects camera through it. (to the depth you need to create multiple copies of the layer of gray and to compensate for a pixel or so in z space).

Option 2: Import your Illustrator article in AE and use as a track matte for a coat grey

Option 3: Click to select your mask, press ctrl + t (Cmd + t on a Mac) and you can scale to the top of your mask (you want to set a keyframe for the mask shape, small size then go ahead and make the transformation of mask).

  • Mask path animation help?

Newbie here. So I have a mask applied to an adjustment layer and you want to move the mask and shape throughout the video. Retouching it. Not a prob. But the problem is that when I try to select it to move it around, I end up changing its shape, or when I want to change shape, I find myself move it. Or worse, the entire mask gets selected in a way that (a white box appears around the mask with 8 anchor points] if I move, the (no retouching) transform position property begins to change (instead of mask path) who in turn up my whole mask off the track way.) So far, he has no random chance of doing things, but I want to make sure decisions and doesn't depend on the luck here. What Miss me?
    Thank you.

Basically, I just can't decide how when the selection icon (becomes black) will move the mask or change shape.

First, use the pen tool to select and move all the mask points. This will prevent you to select the layer. Then, use the Alt/Option key and the Ctrl/Cmnd key to make the selections. Take note of the cursor. The white or open arrow selects one or more points, the conversion tool (sideways v) set the Bézier handles or points of tension and the closed selection tool (short black arrow) will grab and move a single point. If you are using the white arrow, you can select several points and move them. It is pretty easy once you get the hang of it. Try to change the path continues the Selection direct (v - big black arrow) tool is nothing but frustrating.

  • How can I get my mask path to show instead of the mask shape dialog box?

    Hello

I've recently updated to AE CS6 and to see why can't get my mask path to show. I want to create a simple mask that drives from point A to point B, thus revealing an object in my composition slowly. In CS5, all I had to do was click on the mask path Stop Watch and the yellow mask with spikes of pen and Bezier handles appear around my object. I could then create another keyframe and change the shape of the mask with my pen/selection tool that will create the desired effect. However, in CS6 when I add a mask to my object and click on the stopwatch for mask path mask yellow appears.

You probably have the visibility of the mask off in the comp window.  Turn it back on again.

  • Help with mask path

    Hello

I'm doing a chart of movement with a chain of animation (on a bike). I have a link in the chain moving through a mask path, but is there a simple way to get more links on the same way, so it looks like a real channel?

Tell you what, here's a creative approach. You can use the path of the text to move the letters around the trail. It can be o (the letter O) you can write several times and use path as your offset margin. pretty neat and elegant, if I say so myself.

And it's NOT ALLl! Call now and with free bike chain you also get a free flexible range of changes on the fly. you are not bound the mask of collage of copy to position all over again if this path suddenly do it it not!

Of course, it has its limits. can only use fonts (Hey, wingdings is pretty nice right?) you can even set your icon as a font using this kind of service: creator of font and once you like a font with your symbol, the sky is the limit.

There is also this script: BAO mask brush - aescripts + aeplugins - aescripts.com much more affordable than newton and specifically for the use of the creation of symbols around a path. Check out 00:38 BAO mask brush Quick Start on Vimeo

  • Working with paths and Surface Pro 3

I'm having a real problem trying to select and change the path pointing with pen a Surface Pro 3. It is so hard to grasp the point of control. Does anyone have some tips on how to do this?

IMO because the surface has a high resolution 216 PPI if you don't not zoom the image's scaling more large then100% will not to target as node and point to paths of control points. Hit the elastic line will still be difficult with the pen of surface 3 pro...  The first accessory I added to my 3 Surface Pro Microsoft Bluetooth comfort mouse, it's much easier to position the mouse cursor and click on the using the pen of Microsoft on the screen to move the cursor located under the glass of the screen and a distance from the pen. by clicking on the pen. With the help of a mouse is much easier for me then using.the Surface Pro 3 pen. In fact to sharpen in my home office I'll use my Wacom Intuos Pro rather than the surface EP pro 3. Keep my work and my finger print off the display.  In fact at home I use Photoshop on my workstation and use my Pro 3 surface as a third and high resolution of display on my workstation. I'll change my picture on my screen of low resolution and have a second point of view high resolution of my image my display surface pro 3.

The only way I think to do this is to feed the tables of path and path link. But how could I do? I can't find any of the samples in the Oracle Documentation on how could fill these 2 tables.

Also, I also found this http://download.oracle.com/otndocs/products/spatial/pdf/oow2010/spatial/spatialoow10_bldgappsndm.pdf document

Tour restrictions set out on pages 37-39, but I don't know how I implement this.

Should I change my table of $ LINK and add column RESTRICTED_LINKS Java API for IFN will be able to apply the constraint to turn restriction?

Give me code examples and references to do this greatly help me.

    Thank you very much.

    Hi Mike

If (turn) restrictions is what your use case requires then Yes you will need to implement this. :

You will find the ndm_tutorial with good examples: example of NDM Code graph

    You will find the example

Analysis of the shortest path with Restrictions of the Tower

In short, you need to implement a java class that is a constraint on the network.

Must follow the implementation of the constraint.which network requires that give you at least 5 methods (11R2, believe previous versions required only isSatified if remember correctly).

This is page 37 of the pdf doc you mentioned.

So in your table networkLink, you must add a column that stores for these links, a string delimited by commas of the id list target which will be used in network analysis.

You do this by setting up of the isSatified of the method which should return a Boolean TRUE or FALSE.

In your implementation of this method (within your constraints of network), you build logic to validate if a link target candidate links can be reached or not.

This means that you can store these target id list, either as a restriction (you can only go there) or exclusion (you can not go there). It is in the method isSatified that you will take care of your logic in combination with your data.

The example on page 39 of the pdf doc, registers for 1 link ID '7,8', which means in this connection case 1 you can NOT go to the link 7 or 8 link. (explained on page 38)

This will be analyzed in network analysis. The shortest example path analysis with turn Restrictions,.

has a ProhibitedTurnConstraint class lattice strain, which in turn has an isSatified method, which is responsible for such rule return TRUE or False to network analysis.

It does this by creating a hash table and a specific isTurnValid methos, called by the isSatified method.

The java API documentation can be found here:

    Oracle Spatial Java QAnywhere

I hope this give you a little nudge in the right direction. IF you think maybe you can add some valuable points

    Good luck

  • How to reach a path and elimate part of a path

    Hello

    Illustrator CS6.

I had the fish's body contour. So I decided that I had to change the path of the head. I want to reach the inside of the contour of the main line and eliminate the path on the head part. I need the outline done for e a path is closed, so I can make a clipping mask. I tried the 'join' cmd, but he wants to add a straight line between the bottom and top.

Is there a way to accomplish what I want to do?

    Hope I've done, it's understandable :)

    Thank you

Yes, the easiest would probably extend the path behind the eye to cross the outline up and down, select the path and then use object > path > divide objects below. Then remove the path forward.
