  I need to be able to back up and move files from my Mac to my machine to Windows platform. My Seagate external drive is no longer recognizable on the Mac, and it was never recognized by the Windows machine.

  I don't know that I write in the right place.  I have a file on my desktop iMac I want to move to the folder My Documents in my VM.  I have sharing enabled, but when I try to move the file by dragging the file in the My Documents folder, it appears right on my desktop iMac computer.  The file is a .jpg file, if that helps.  I tried to figure this out for about 3 days.  If someone could tell me how to do this, I would be very happy.  Thank you

  What type of file you have?

  What do you do with it?

  The easiest way might use dropbox or onedrive. Or you want to change the file on the iPad?

  MP3-files are also. And with iTunes you can copy those dear to your iPad too.

  When I try to use WET to transfer from old Win XP Win 7 again, I need trasfer WET to the old computer.  So I choose this option and move on to the part where it says "Select the USB flash drive where you want to save WET".  Well, in the window is the word "computer" I can't click on it, nor is the OK button light up.  What's wrong?

  someone at - it never use 2 os from mac to windows platform? before I use macbookpro retina to edit my film. Then I just build a pc to perform more quickly for editing...   By "all text" are you referring to and the titles or captions? This kind of thing can vary according to the what fonts are available on each computer. If so, you will need to acquire the corresponding fonts for each computer.

  Recently I bought laptop with windows vista on it. My other computer has windows xp. I would like to transfer files from windows xp to vista, when I do I can't open it.   Turn on the guy.
  You have installed MS Works. This is not the same thing as MS Excel.
  I didn t try to open excel with MS works files, but it seems that it s is not possible!
  The excel files must be saved in Microsoft Works format, if you want to open with work!

  Install Excel if you want to open and use files other people Excel.

  I have files of media for the transfer of problems from my mac for the blackberry pearl 8100. I have followed the steps and went in the media file selected 'receive via bluetooth' and is went to the mac and selected the media file, I want to send. The screen open on the mac in waiting to connect, I select Save device ringtones, get, forward the message on both devices doesn't have. I did all the steps on the support but nothing works. Both devices are paired I can send files from the blackberry for the mac, but I can't receive all multimedia files. I sent pictures of the Mac to blackberry and it worked fine.

  I see I can't use Windows Easy Transfer.  I backed up everything on the external hard drive.  Y at - it sort of just download everything from the external hard drive (using "restore", for example?) without crushing everything in the same programs in windows 8.1?  Or do I have to copy everything whole again, one by one?

  How to copy your data files from Vista to 8.1

  Vista machine:

  Open the Windows Explorer in Vista (or Documents, music, images, etc.) > have a connected external hard drive or USB key > go to the files you want to transfer > right click on the files you want to transfer > hover the mouse on "send to" > select the external hard drive.

  8 machine:

  Plug USB > open the file Explorer > copy files anywhere in the correct folders.

  When you are finished, you can see a report of what was transferred, as well as what Windows was not able to move. To view the report, on your new PC, search for Windows Easy Transfer reports in your applications using the search of charm.

  

  Notes

  • Windows Easy Transfer can't transfer files from a 64-bit version of Windows to a 32-bit version of Windows. In this case, you need to move your files manually.

• Cannot move files between Mac and Windows

  I'm Fusion 8.1.1 and OS X 10.11.5. I can no longer move files back and forth between Mac and Windows (7 x 32 or 7 x 34) while in a single window. In addition, the unit is not available (grayed out). I did a Windows Update for virtual machines two days ago and also a recent update of OS X 10.11.4 to 10.11.5 so I don't know if that's the problem. Everything seems to work another Mac running Fusion 8.0.2 OS x 10.11.5. Do not remember if I've recently updated Windows because the dates are meaningless to me.

  Advice as to why it happens? In the meantime, I'll try to recover a backup of virtual machine before my recent Windows upgrade.

  The fixed! I reinstalled VMware Tools on the W7x32 and W7x64 VMs and found unity and two-way drag and drop. I do not uninstall, just ran Virtual Machine > install VMware Tools in the menu bar. There was no option to reinstall VMware Tools, so I guess that the corrupted Windows VMware Tools update that was there before the update of Windows.
