  I'm trying to return the number of elements on the stage in an alert.

  Inside the compostionReady of the element of the scene, I have the following code

  {$(document) .ready (function ()}

  Alert ($("#Stage").length + "items.");

  });

  1 items returned in the alert, but there are two div on the stage

  I tried to group the objects into a div, and then to call them like that

  {$(document) .ready (function ()}

  Alert ($("#grpDivs").length + "items.");

  });

  This yeilds 0 items

  I also tried this

  {$(document) .ready (function ()}

  Alert ($("#Stage_grpDivs").length + "items.");

  });

  Zero was the same result

  I work through a JQuery tutorial so I'm sure that there is a subtle difference miss me

  You are almost there - in your first example, you actually say "tell me how much items step I. Try this, instead:

  {$(document) .ready (function ()}

  Alert ($("#Stage").children () .length + "items.");

  });

  Using children() gets all the children of the elements in the scene.

  I made an animate oam edge file and put it in indesign and the jquery, I put in the edge, drag and drop, does not work in my indesign file, when I view it on the Viewer.  What I can do... Please tell me it will work!  Help!

  Sarah and I looked set to it.  What is happening is that your external JavaScript files are not be included in the OAM package, which is an issue we know and study for a future version of Animate.

  First of all, I have a corrected version of the file OAM here:

  Let me know when you get to that I can remove it.

  Please note that whenever you publish, it will blast away the changes I made to the OAM file so that it can work.

  In the meantime, you can learn how to decompress and to hand modify the OAM.  Darrell Heath has a note on it which will help you get started:

  You'll also need to edit the XML files in the CAO to condition your JavaScript files, so the best thing to do is to copy the file page11tree_oam.xml of assets / directory in the OAM I downloaded to your new OAM packet when you are ready to test.  Then, just rezip the folder, change the extension in OAM and paste it into InDesign.

• Animate with greensock, text effect

  Hello, I am trying to build banner in Adobe animate with greensock.

  I do positioning to animate it and after that I do everything with the code in the first block of the timeline...

  Most of the transitions are with Y year X (left, right, tilt, rotation, low and high), opacity with alpha as well as certain triggers that make smoother.

  (is there a list of other commands that can be used in the workaround?)

  I want to make the text in a kind of effect... type each letter after another, what can we bij animate and/or greensock?

  I saw a plugin of breath, but I don't know how to use that in the lively...

  Maybe someone has some issue or perhaps answer?

  To animate text in Adobe animate, if you use fonts custom, your best bet is to divide your text twice, convert each letter to a movie clip symbol, distribute video clips of layers and animate each of them with their own tween.

  If you just want they appear one by one, without any sort of bland or movement, you can skip breaking apart each letter in video clips, keep the text on one layer and reveal it with a mask instead: How to use layers of mask in Adobe animate CC

  If you use a dynamic text, there would be other ways to reveal with the code, but I'm assuming that you are using the static text because I know how customers love their custom fonts.

  Alternatively, if you're comfortable working outdoors to animate, for text effects of animation with Greensock... impressive the plugin SplitText is amazing for DOM elements if you use web fonts for your project: GreenSock | SplitText (Please note that this will not work in Animate, that uses the canvas).

  I just created a site of catalyst for business and I chose for my own HTML/CSS/JS site (without a template). The site is made with Adobe Edge animate and the files are already uploaded to the server.

  When I connect to the admin of the catalyst business account I can see my site works but now I would like to use the incontext Editor. When I hit the edit button I see my site, but I can't change.

  In my index.html file I insert scripts like 'ice:editable="html"' and 'ice:editable="*". But still the incontext editor doesn't work.

  Example:

  As much as I know to Edge host sites work the script must be initialized. ICE but does not play nice with dynamic content and that's why he doesn't work for this particular site.

  Don't think that there is a way around this.

  Is there a way to link a style sheet for the classes defined within edge?

  I text within the edge with a class of ESCR and in the style of the journal his .desc {color: red ;} to keep things simple.}

  If it was not on board animate it works but I can't understand the code to link the css to the edge project file.

  I work for the police, but I think it's another way to link to the style sheet.

  Any help or insight into this would be a great help.

  I've been doing it this way and seen the creationcomplete act as a style sheet. Was just trying to see if a .css file would load to edge but think I will carry on doing it this way.

• 20141 Animate files upgraded edge makes it impossible to delete keyframes

  My files animate edge that have been updated for the new version of 20141 have a bug where keyframes are not able to remove. Existing keyframes can be moved and properties can be adjusted new keyframes can be created. But if I try to delete a keyframe, either nothing happens, or I have an error message and that I should save and reboot edge animate.

  Noticing this on multiple machines, it looks like a question in line, hope that a fix is under way.

• Can you import HTML in your document of edge animate or make edge animate open an external HTML of your computer?

  I have recently created a memory Flash game and do other work edge animate and would like to be able to put my flash game in the document animate. I've converted the swf in HTML file and can open it online from my own computer. I would like to know if you could edge animate to open the file but by clicking a button, I tried to enter the url of the file while it is open online but it did not work. If this is not possible is there a way to integrate my game html in the document animate.

  Hi Katrina,

  You should be able to open the file in Animate HTML, as long as it is on a local hard drive - just use file > open. You would not be to embed the file HTML in Animate, but open the HTML file for further edition, such as adding text, rectangles, or images or audio - when you save, Animate wrote only the links necessary for its execution in the HTML file - the rest of the execution of Animate files be saved in the same folder where you saved your HTML file.

• Cup slideshow animate from the edge of the Animation

  I created a simple 3 picture slide-show, which presents in preview perfectly edge animate, but when export as a one AOM and then placed in a page html, Dreamweaver, then previewed is not displayed correctly. The slideshow works as it should, however 966px W x 322px H slide show displays only half the height of 322px.

  Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

• How to make a three-way color mix (and rounded edge effect)?

  For what it's worth, I use Illustrator CS5 but I guess that any solution will apply to all versions.

  In practice, I pretty well where I have to so is not an immediate problem, but I don't know there are much better ways to achieve the effect, and I would like to have in stock for any future reference. I don't know if it is a fundamental issue that I should be able to understand easily or a challenge for practitioners more advanced; Whatever it is, I would be grateful for any suggestion.

  The two elements that I struggled with were:

  1. Mix colors where they join - especially the mixture of three lanes in the Middle, which, in the end, I avoided by placing another object on top! I've resorted to a manual, tedious and inaccurate approach point by point using grids and it didn't really deliver what I wanted, which was a join without seam between colors.
  2. Get the effect of an edge rounded up to the level of the perimeter of the triangle - I used the same technique of mesh-and-guessing (and it shows).

  In any solution can anyone suggest, one of the important things should be able to dictate the distance on which the mixture and the frame work, where the colours merge both the edges rounded. Feel free, also, to start from the beginning with "first of all, build your triangle" - I realized, as I did, that there are different ways to do it, and it may be best that special mixture for one approach.

  Do as Mike or Steve said (this is so Steve, turned to color points) adds a blur the edge traced triangle: in the layers panel select the clipping mask, copy and paste in front, choose a stroke color (that of tannish), align the race inside, add Gaussian blur. Play with value of blur and the race until you are satisfied.

• Is it possible to add two strokes to text with a filling between the two to make an edge effect?

  I've been playing in Illustrator specifically with the menu appearance with strokes and fills. I would like to do something more complex. I posted a this kind of idea of what I want to screenshot. Instead of add simply several traces, I want to have say two white lines with the filling under the same color of the background color is.

  I would do this with strokes or fills? Is there a certain order, that they must be in my appearance Panel?

  That's two shots, the one of them compensate for slightly (effect > path). I just got rid of filling completely. Double click on 'Print' and trash filling it.
