Another "Windows is not genuine" Question

I got this Asus laptop for over a year. Today I started to have a message that my copy of Windows is not genuine. The only thing that has changed is that I just installed a new cable modem and the router, and I think that Comcast gave me a new IP address. Here are the results of the diagnostic tool:

I don't know what other information you need of the sticker, although I remember reading NOT to validate the actual product key.
Can someone give me some advice on what to do?
Thank you

You need to change your product key to the one on your COA.
Click Start, type slui 3, press on enter.

Additional information:

Computers, which are built by large manufacturers provided with pre-installed Windows are supplied with 2 two product keys:

OEM SLP: This key comes pre-installed in Windows, when it comes to the factory. This key is designed to work with the special instructions isn't on the hardware of this manufacturer. Then, when Windows was installed using the OEM SLP (in factory) Windows 7 key leans on the motherboard and he sees special instructions and activates. (that's why you had no need to turn on your computer after you brought it home)

COA SLP: it's the product key that you see on the sticker on the side (or at the bottom, [or in the battery compartment]) of your computer. It is a valid product key, but must be used only in certain situations (for example, if the OEM SLP key stops automatic activation for a reason any). The key must be activated by phone. (Note: all manufacturers that use the SLP OEM system are bound by contract to include a certificate of Authenticity sticker (COA), which has a COA SLP key, on the computer)

Installed an old hard drive in a Toshiba laptop in another PC Dell laptop and asked to activate windows.  When I tried to activate it, it didn't work and he says "this copy of Windows is not genuine".  The original laptop came not with all drives, and he said to make recovery disks.  I made records of discovery and tried to use it in the Dell laptop and it does not work it no more.  I'm looking to find out how to activate windows.  Any help will be appreciated.

It is an OEM license on the Toshiba laptop computer, the license is tied to the original machine that is why he is coming to ask you to activate.

I suggest that you run the Microsoft Genuine Advantage diagnostic tool in normal mode (not safe mode) and copy and paste the results into a response for further analysis:

    http://go.Microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkId=52012

Run the tool and when it ends, click the copy button, open a text such as Word or Notepad file and select Edit, paste. You can paste directly into an answer here. Open a response, right click and select Paste.

    > How can I get a copy?
If your laptop was initially shipped with Win7 preinstalled and you want to now order original Toshiba Recovery disk for your laptop that you can do it on https://backupmedia.toshiba.eu/landing.aspx
    >... where I can find a product key that I use to activate windows?
You can not find it. I put t understand your question. If you use OS Toshiba you n t need activation code, but if not you and if pre-installed OS is installed with the installation of Microsoft disk you need to pay for a valid license.

All the time, you're in the magic circle. You always ask the same question, but somehow, you don t read what other people write here. Please read another thread - http://forums.computers.toshiba-europe.com/forums/message.jspa?messageID=262518

    1. when (date about) have you buy the computer?

    1B. is this a Vista 32-bit or a 64-bit computer?  See http://support.microsoft.com/kb/827218

have 1 you ever had the opportunity to do a repair installation or a clean installation of Windows Vista?

    2. What is the full name of your application or the installed antivirus security suite and when (date about) is your subscription current expires? What (other than Defender) anti-spyware applications are installed? What third-party firewall (if applicable)?

3 a Norton or McAfee application ALREADY installed on the computer as you bought?

    4. do you have a free trial Norton, or a test of free McAfee [a] come preinstalled on the computer When you bought it? (No matter if you have never used or activated).

    5 KB3139929, KB3140735, KB3140709, KB3139940, KB3140410, KB3139914, KB3139398, and/or KB3139852 listed in installed updates (not update history)? [1]

7 is Adobe Flash Player v21.0.0.213 (or higher) installed? TEST HERE in USING INTERNET EXPLORER ONLY! -online http://www.adobe.com/software/flash/about/

8 assuming that Internet Explorer 9 is installed => what Version & KB number update are displayed in the second line of text using IE9. [Alt + H + A] tab. for example, Updated Version: 9.0.54 (KB9876543) ?

9 is version 45.0.1 (or higher) Firefox or Google Chrome version 49.0.2623.112 (or higher) or another alternative browser installed?

    10. are you familiar with "Registry cleaners" (e.g., Registry Mechanic;) System Mechanic; RegCure; RegClean Pro. Advanced SystemCare. Registry Booster; Glary Utilities; McAfee QuickClean. AVG PC TuneUp. Norton Registry Cleaner; PCTools optimizer; SpeedUpMyPC; PC Doctor; TuneUp Utilities; WinMaximizer; WinSweeper; Comodo System Cleaner. Advanced System Optimizer. Yesterday a notice appeared on the lower right of my saying (black screen) desktop "Windows 7 Build 7601 this copy of Windows is not genuine." The computer is a Dell XPS1702x I bought the 29/08/2011 and never had a problem before. I have two drives to Windows 7 Ultimate and Office 2010 Professional Plus, that are installed on the system. I have read other threads and will display the results of the diagnostic MGA. The computer seems to operate normally, other than the appearance of the desktop. Thank you.

  • Windows 7 not genuine error

My employer (a very large company) has improved my DELL OptiPlex 755 to windows 7 from XP.

About 6 months ago, my Department got new computers and I could buy my DELL from the employer.  I was able to remove all requirements for network credentials and start without a password and all THE programs that have been installed by my company.

I bought legally, had the blessing of my company and recently my desktop is black and the popups saying my windows is not genuine.

I have not received a disc of Windows 7 or a key that he seems to have been a generic key used when I logged in our business network.  The only programs I have on the PC are SAGETV for my PVR needs, but also the drivers for the new video card and the tuners I've installed at home.  Except that it's clean.

How to authenticate this installation?  The only key I have comes from the XP installation original came with the PC when I ordered it for my Department several years ago. Our IT Department must have used a license key generic that has been authenticated periodically when I logged in at work.

I would be happy to provide MS my service of DELL or any other information code to authenticate this version of windows.

    What can I do?

I suspect that you have a company key (KMS) who need to communicate with a server on a regular basis.  You can check the status by running this

  • "Windows 7 Build 7601 this copy of Windows is not genuine" and the slow boot after malware removal

HP Pavilion dm4 my daughter recently started to take about 10-15 minutes to start, tell me that he had become infected by something questionable. It is currently running Windows 7 Home Premium SP1, with AVG free anti-virus.

When we noticed the problem first, AVG has been disabled (probably by malware), and I could not turn it back on. He would not run a scan at all. I have scanned it with Norton Power Eraser and their free bootable scanner, nor identified any problems. I ran Malwarebytes in safe mode, and it found several files associated with Yontoo, which he deleted. I ran ccleaner, including the registry cleaner. At this time, AVG was returned to service, so I ran a full scan with it. AVG found several files associated with OpenCandy, which he deleted. A scan later Malwarebytes came clean.

For now, the system seems to work fine, EXCEPT: there are still a huge amount of time to start - several minutes between each step. And now, the desktop appear intermittently a message which reads: "Windows 7 Build 7601 this copy of Windows is not genuine".

I found a lot of discussion online about this error message, but it seems that each of them (which I reviewed) has a different twist to what I feel.

Any suggestions for next steps? Thanks in advance.

To recover the files please see paragraph 7.4 in the link here:
    http://www.gerryscomputertips.co.UK/win7tips1.htm

Alternatively, you can run chkdsk from the other computer hard disk.

When you have recovered your data files you can restore settings.

Another option could be to download a copy of windows, to burn a copy on DVD and try a repair installation. The sticker COSTS on the computer applies to OEM Windows Home Premium? -What is the 25-character readable product key?

  • Hard Drive/authentication problem Windows is not genuine.

My hard drive has begun to send me errors of hard drive so I bought a new.  Then I cloned my original drive.  I disconnected the original disk and booted from a new.  But now, I get an error message that this version of Windows is not genuine.  I can go as far as the sign on the screen, but when I click to sign I get a blue screen with a small error message in the lower right corner, saying that this version of Windows is not genuine.  I get no response to any buttons and I have to power down.  Is there a solution to this?

    Hello

You may experience this problem if you have changes of hardware on the computer. Genuine Windows is a recurring process that checks your product key to be used with the hardware, it has been associated during activation. If the product key appears as not authentic or not valid, it is likely that the product key is used on another computer or is a counterfeit.

I suggest you to contact the Microsoft Product Activation Center by phone and check if it helps.

I really need to clean all drives and reinstall from scratch on the 90 GB SSD drive, but I'm not able to get order of format etc.

  • When I came out of hibernation, a window appears saying that Windows is not genuine

    Windows not genuine message?

I have a ZT Systems Core i7 PC with Win7 Home Premium 64-bit. It's about a year, but recently, when I came out of hibernation, a window appears saying that Windows is not genuine.  When I close and re - enter my ID in the Properties window, it checks and says that the activation is successful.  Why this message keep appearing from time to time and how do I get rid of him?  Thank you!

A product id is not a product key. your product key is on your COA attached to your computer. (if your laptop, it may be in the battery compartment).

  • "Build 6002: this copy of Windows is not genuine".

    Hello world...

I've had my TOSHIBA Satellite L40-139 for more than a year. She was purchased by PC World and came with a preinstalled version of Windows Vista Edition Home Premium. I don't have the disc that came with the laptop, but the Windows installed is genuine.

I went to install Vista Service Pack 2 after you download. I restarted my laptop only to find my desktop wallpaper disappeared and was replaced with a black background and the following text in the lower right of the desktop:

    Windows Vista (TM)
    Build 6002
This copy of Windows is not genuine

She was followed by a pop-up with two options, 'Activate now' or 'Activate later', followed by a pop up an error that says Windows must be reinstalled as a "unauthorized modification were made...". Please insert the CD or DVD. If I press 'Activate now' he's just another pop up that says I can contact TOSHIBA. If I click on the link it will just a standard screen for "help!"

I don't know what to do... I have the sticker intact COA product key and tried to enter, but she returned with various errors. It's like as soon as I installed service pack 2 I had problems. Yet once again, I don't have Vista or a toshiba recovery disk (I don't even know if it came with one). I tried to restore Windows, but it returns with the same screens!

    Help!

PS. is the Toshiba support line a toll-free number? Does anyone know a number that is free to call mobile phones? (I don't have a landline).

Your model of laptop is not delivered with the recovery disk, but with recovery image stored on the HARD drive. In s manuals document clearly describes that you must fund recovery DVD only tool preinstalled Toshiba recovery disc creator.

Version of the OS pre-installed (Toshiba recovery image factory settings) is definitely authentic and I really don t understand how it can happen. I mean thousands of people do the same update, and there is no other claim on similar problems.

Anyway, if you didn t create recovery disk you can try now is to reinstall the OS using the HDD recovery procedure. How to do this you can read in document http://aps2.toshiba-tro.de/kb0/HTD9102IR0000R01.htm Toshiba FAQ
This will remove all HARD drive, extract second partition so if you have some important data backup.

If it will not let me know.

  • Re: message "this copy of Windows is not genuine".

Hello, this morning the following message appeared as my wallpaper:

    "Windows 7".
    Build 7600
This copy of Windows is not genuine ".

Windows was preinstalled on my laptop (i.e. is authentic).
I searched Microsoft, their solution is to run RSoP.msc - when I try to do, I gives me the message "Windows cannot find ' RSoP.msc". "

    Can anyone help?

    Thanks in advance.

    Hey,.

And what Toshiba laptop you have exactly?

Windows 7 preinstalled or another OS?
This product key, you can find on the lower side of your computer?

  • T430s Windows 7 not genuine

    Hello

I bought a Lenovo T430s, 2355-CTO type, it is still in warranty (already checked it), and for the last 20 days, I get "Windows is not genuine". It work perfectly during the last 4 months, but all of a sudden (I guess an update of Win) starts to show me this message.

I don't have a product key on my battery, Lenovo, I called and they told me that my laptop is with prefabricated Win and the key is embedded. I tried all of the fixes that Lenovo, I could start console but nothing has worked.

I don't want to restore the default hard drive (the only option left) I have a lot of data on my drive HARD, plus another SW installed from the corporate network.

Are there not a difficulty, or something?

    Thanks in advance

    Adrian

Thank you for your response. I'm going to download this kit, and if it happens to me again, I'll try this fix as well. Unfortunately I already restore my Lenovo to its default settings on the weekend and reinstall everything. Now it works, but it is not a nice way to fix this topic.
