Anti-Glare vs mat screens

Simple question, is anti-Glare is to say it's a matted screen?

Buy a new laptop from Lenovo. A SL500 to be exact, but I wanted to ask what is the difference between anti-Glare and the screen "Felted" industry standard term ends. Im just make sure when I order the SL500 I get a normal type LED, matted screen that doesn't have some kind of film anti-glare on it.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                            Thank you!                                                                                                                                                                                                                Kylan

Hi KW10001, welcome to the Lenovo user community!

The simple answer to your simple question is Yes, glare and Matt are the same thing.

I think you mean Matt, not tangled.

Anti-glare screens use different techniques to disperse the light reflected, and the result is a Matt appearance.

    Hi there @DavidHPCB

Welcome to the Forums of HP Support! It's a good place to find the help you need, so many other users, the HP experts and other members of the support staff.

I understand that you have a problem of glare with your screen. Can be a little more specific? Is this a problem of brightness, or more info about reflectivity?

For your convenience, here is the support page for your Chromebook, as well as the user's guide.

If it's a matter of brightness, you can try to adjust that. If it's a problem of screen reflectivity, based on where you use, you might consider an anti-glare screen the screen.

  • Please, update information about screen glare on Xoom?

Hi, I read the threads on the brightness of the screen on the xoom and that you don't find the answer to my question. Seller told me to install the Zagg screen protector. I did and what a mess, so I got to Best Buy and they succeeded him and installed for another $15. I went out to take some pictures of a quail and her 15 babies and could nothing seen on the screen. Tried in different ways. Then I thought about work or play with my Xoom out on the bridge, and it was a too-lost cause.

The new Question? What can I do to eliminate glare on the screen of the Xoom with the Zagg installed? Can I put something on the Zagg? It was not cheap and I paid to have it installed. Fresh offer please advise as the 'old' didn't help.

Thanks for your comments and time.

Thank you all for all your comments and help. It was very appreciated. The person who answered my question I just was making a joke. I tried full brightness of the screen and my sunglasses. IT WORKED > kind of dark but good enough to see what I was taking a picture of I need to find the name of the last answer because it was the one with the answer that worked. I love this forum. He helped me whenever I asked a question. Once again thank you all... Nancy

  • Fixing glare treatment

Good evening. I have a problem with my anti-glare treatment, which has started to wear off. I bought my Mac Pro retina 15 about three years in the United States, so I'm out of warranty. Also due to some personal issues I have even my old guaranteed. I would like to know if it is possible to fix it for free in London? And how much time this procedure will last while I'm in London just for a few days?

Also is it possible to prevent this lining, or at least slow down this process?

You are out of warranty. Period. The fix to warn or damaged anti-glare treatment is a replacement of the screen. It won't be free, and the Apple Store in London can be more accurate on the replacement cost.

The only "free" is an introspective examination of what you use to clean your screen. If this isn't a cloth Microfiber wet (or dry), distilled water, then you're doing it wrong.

  • Anti-reflective treatment - replacement

The problem with the breakaway of an anti-reflective coating of the MacBook is well known. There are some rumors say on the new progmam 'quality '. In short, according to this program all damaged anti-glare screens must be replaced free of charge if the MacBook has more early then bought 3 years ago. Are these correct rumors or not?

Yes. You should be able to have your screen replaced for free if you experience this problem. They will run diagnostics to make sure that it is otherwise in working condition.

  • Screen replcement on Tecra R840

I wonder if anyone can give me some advice on replacing the screen on my laptop Tecra R840.

The screen is described as follows:
    14 Toshiba HD anti-glare LED (1366 x 768) high brightness backlight screen.

I would like to know if it is possible to do a straight replacement of this screen with a version high gloss?

I prefer the very glossy screen, because it seems easier to read the detail on the screen when the light is very bright. Just before there is no notice on the brightness of the screen, the level is already enabled for maximum brightness.

I already asked a supplier to screen in London [I am based in the United Kingdom] who said that there should really be no problem, once the resolution figures are the same with a brilliant display of replacement.

Perhaps, could somebody let me know if it's simple.

    parkman1

    Hi parkman

It is not easy to help you with this, and it is not easy to pick up a few useful information on this subject.
Goggling around, I found out that Toshiba uses two different views on this model Tecra.

What could be interesting for you is the display used on Tecra R840-110. On this model Toshiba uses 14 HD glossy screen + with a resolution of 1600 x 900 pixels.

Maybe this one will be right for you.
I recommend you contact the nearest Toshiba service provider and ask for help or advice from God.

  • Fuzzy screen of retina MacBook Pro problem

    Hello

My MacBook Pro (retina, mid-2012) recently had this issue on the screen:

Searched the Internet for similar cases, I think that this problem with the anti glare coating will get compensation as stated on https://www.apple.com/support/macbookpro-videoissues/

But when I bring my Macbook to the Apple authorized service provider in my area, they said I have to wait this blurred more and more problem to be replaced. Can I help for this to feel really annoying because they appear to the center of the screen?

There is a test VST of pass/fail for the problem that is described in the link you posted.  This test has been run?  If so, what were the results?  If the test was not performed, it should be.

    Ciao.

  • MacBook Pro screen re-recurring problem.

In November 2015, I got a replacement of the screen as my Mac anti-glare treatment wears.

Just one month later, replaced screen got weak horizontal gray bands that goes further, from right to left, I got a replacement of the screen before the end of 2015.

Now, the March 2016, I had some stripes of vertical pixels affected when I apply pressure on the screen. How can I fix?

Just in case you are wondering this odd task between the two, it is the slider. I want to show that the screen has some problems with it, so I place my cursor here to show that this isn't where the screen ends.

It is a hardware problem with no software solution.  It will require a replacement.

You have not identified the EXACT MBP model you have and perhaps with the display problem, it could come under this replacement program.  Read this link.

  • treatment glare from dissipate

I got my Macbook pro for about a year and a half and I noticed a few brands that appear around the camera and the lower right of the screen. The Microfiber cloth that came with the macbook, which I use to clean the screen does not clean up the brands. I did some research on the web and saw pictures where whole screens of the people have the problem. It started with me a week ago, and maybe it didn't happen earlier because I have a protective silicon keyboard cover and it delays the progression of the anti-glare treatment, detach, but it has slightly increased since last week when he started. What should I do? I read on the web, people can send their macs in repair, how long it will take usually? My Apple care should take care of it?

Do it in your nearest Apple Store, such that there is a free replacement program goes up to 3 years after the day you guessed it.
