Antivirus 2009

Please can someone get rid of this pain!

I received a call from my parents with this same question. This was a few years that I have worked in it and de-spywaring of dozens of machines (Dell all the too, hehe ), but gave it a shot.

I've always had really good luck with Microsoft Windows Defender: this is actually a great piece of software in my experience and free.

A good first step is to erase all your internet cache files (in case there are any infected files stored there that could re - install the malicious software) and I also believe that the system restore points - I only did this with Antivirus 2009, but I recall it is a good precaution.

Boot in safe mode (press F8 before you see the loading Windows screen) after installing Windows Defender and run it from safe mode. I'd run a quick scan, remove any malware, reboot and repeat this until the Quick Scan didn't find anything else. Then do a final reboot & perform a deep analysis to confirm that everything is gone.

It worked for me at least, hope this helps.

P.S. I'm moving this thread to the appropriate forum.

    It is MALWARE.

  • Satellite A200 - once installation of Karspersky cannot start the CAM software

    Guys I need help...

I have download the Karspersky antivirus 2009 and I install on my Toshiba Satellite A200-gs1 psaece
He acknowledged the cec_main.exe as virus and block...
I put it in the exclusion list, it does not continue the works, and when I started my laptop it said «cannot run cec_main.exe...» ».

I remove the program and install it again I ve put again to the exclusion list.
Now it's the turn of say on your camera when I m running my cam program.
I put t know what I should do...

    Here is the cure:
Probably a good idea to go to Toshiba and download the latest version of the software for the camera to your computer. Do not open this software. Go to the control panel and remove the existing camera Assistant software. Open the Kaspersky software and click settings then click threats and exclusions under the Options tab. Click on the zone of confidence. Click on approved Applications. If CEC_MAIN.exe exists, delete it. Restart the computer.
May be a good idea to delete your internet cable because we do a right-click on the Kaspersky shortcut and click PROTECTION of PAUSE. This is a must! Probably best to set for a 10 minute break. Close this menu and then open Kaspersky. Go to settings > threats and Exclusions > Trusted Zones > objects > Add + > and type in manually or copy and paste the following text exactly as shown below:

C:\Program Camera Assistant Software for Toshiba\CEC_MAIN.exe

exclusionary rules, to allow CEC_Main.exe to be a trusted application. Then reinstall the software assistant camera. Kaspersky should always be in pause mode, but will let you know maybe CEC_MAIN.exe to contain a virus.
Ignore, but look for the option on this same screen that will allow you to add this as a trusted application. It's the key to this... Kaspersky should be paused during the reinstallation of the software. Once you tell Kaspersky to add this as a trusted application, your installation should be completed. REBOOT and the problem is over.

    Hello Hanning,

Windows allows to fix corrupt or missing files it finds. If the information of the installation CD is required to fix the problem, you may be asked to insert your Windows Vista CD. You can get the well-known files from your dvd to the BONE. Have you this? If this is not the case, try a system restore. If it does not always help let us know that you can download and ISO of here: http://neosmart.net/blog/2008/windows-vista-recovery-disc-download/ but the use of this software to burn your ISO. Link: http://download.cnet.com/Active-ISO-Burner/3000-2646_4-10602452.html?tag=mncol, let us know if this allows you to get your drive. Follow the instructions. I tried to install the tax program & H R Block home for my condition and am getting the Error 1606. I checked the registry as it says in the article kb886549 and everything matches. Anyone have a suggestion?

  • MALICIOUS SOFTWARE

Hi, my security software keeps ID CPQSETVER. EXE file as malware/spyware. As much, I would say it's at HP for the default settings of windows 7. could you please advice, because I tried to ignore it and it keeps raising it with examples of places where it was first detected?

    Hello

It is a legitimate file and therefore a false positive detection by your security software.  I would like to add it to the excluded files of control until an update of your security software solves the problem (which usually happen once that enough people report this problem).  In addition, the reason that your security software can be found this file in several locations is because it has detect copies of the file in your system restore points.

You can confirm this by creating a CD bootable Antivirus on another PC and use it to run a boot time scan.  Instructions for it and the download are on the link below.

    I hope this helps.
