The most frequently recommended paid AVs in security forums, I frequent include:
-Avira AntiVir Premium Edition
-ESET NOD32
-Kaspersky AV
I think all 3 offers 30 days of testing and may recommend one of them.

I tried the first 2 and for various reasons chose NOD32. She was appointed AV product of the year by AV-comparatives (a respected independent test site) in 2006 and 2007. He also has more than any other Virus Bulletin VB100 product certifications.

  • Avast! Writes to the SSD much antivirus software during scan

    Hi guys,.

I have installed avast! Antivirus on my Mac, do not protect my Mac specifically, but to keep it to pass on the Windows malware to other computers or on my Windows partition. When the full analysis of the system, I notice that he reads a lot of data in the player (that I know), but it saves up to 40 GB of data in the SSD at the end of the analysis! I know writing excessively on the SSD can shorten their life (although I tried to calculate its expected service life using my daily writing, and I should have at least another 10 years of use, which is more than enough).

My point being, why is avast! write on the disk so during a scan? Is it caused by a heuristic analysis or something? I don't want to put unnecessary pressure on my SSD, even though I know that Apple SSD are generally pretty durable.

    Thank you.

Note: Please don't give me a conference on the installation of antivirus software on Mac - I know that this is not strictly necessary but I explain why I use it at the beginning of my post.

Your windows contacts can take care of themselves. He has no need of you to your Mac protecting wear.

Your Mac is already well protected without that avast garbage making it unstable.

    Hello

    1. what anti-virus software you are using on the computer?
    2. don't you make changes on the computer before the show?

    3. when exactly, you get this Antivirus software warning message?

    Method 1:
You try to run Microsoft Safety Scanner mode safe mode with networking and see if it helps.

To restart in Mode safe mode with networking enabled:

    (a) restart the computer.

    (b) when you see the logo of the manufacturer of the computer, press F8 .

    (c) on the screen Advanced Startup Options , use the arrow keys to select Safe Mode with networkand press enter.

    (d) to connect to your computer with an account with administrator rights.

Now, try to scan your computer for Microsoft Safety Scanner, it will help us to get rid of viruses, spyware and other malicious software.

The Microsoft Security Scanner is a downloadable security tool for free which allows analysis at the application and helps remove viruses, spyware and other malware. It works with your current antivirus software.

    http://www.Microsoft.com/security/scanner/en-us/default.aspx

Note: The Microsoft Safety Scanner ends 10 days after being downloaded. To restart a scan with the latest definitions of anti-malware, download and run the Microsoft Safety Scanner again.

Warning: The data files that are infected must be cleaned only by removing the file completely, which means that there is a risk of data loss.

    Method 2:
I suggest you try the procedure described in the link and check.

  • No longer connect to the internet after you uninstall antivirus software

    Hello

Please forgive me if there is a simple solution to this problem. I have already undertaken some research and various attempts to correct them accordingly in vain.

    System: Windows 7 64-bit

Problem - no more have the internet connection after you uninstall antivirus software

the story so far: yesterday I uninstalled VIPRE Internet Security 2014 as suggested on their guys to support online so I could upgrade to the latest version (2015).

After uninstalling and restarting, small notification of connection there was an error in this regard. When you look at the map, it linked the wireless modem, but there was a red cross between it and the symbol of the world of the internet.

I tried another public network and tried to use my phone as a hotspot and still the same result.

    System Restore does not work.

    I defragged and cleaned up.

I downloaded a program called Vipre rescue to find the virus.

I tried with windows on and outside firewall.

I installed a full copy of 2015 AVG (free) and still no luck.

I tried a flush.bat file (easily on another where I read that someone had the same problem).

Any help would be most welcome!

Thanks for getting back to me.

I dropped last week and held a store of the local computer. I just returned it today. Guys said they had 'fun' with her. Which means it took a lot of time for them to trouble. Apparently there had been some severe or ciritcal crashes who think could have been partly to blame.

  • Need to find the right Antivirus software

    Hi team,

I have a confusion on what Antivirus software to decide as there seems to be many providers of AV on the Internet. My basic use of the pc would be mainly multimedia (movies and games) and navigation. It is why would you suggest me a VA that is also inexpensive and effective in action. In addition, I had set to zero on Norton and Avast. History says that Norton consumes a lot of system resources that makes the slow system performance. Please specify on the same.

    Thank you

    Hello

Here's what I use and recommend: (these are all free and very effective versions.)

Avast and Prevx proved extremely reliable and compatible with all I have
launched on them. Microsoft Security Essentials and Prevx have also proven to be very
reliable and compatible. Use MSE or Avast and Prevx, Prevx 3 but not all.

Avast Home free - stop any shields is not necessary except leaving Standard, Web, and
    Operation of the network.

    Prevx - Home - free

    Windows Firewall

Windows Defender (is not necessary if you use MSE)

    Protected IE - mode

IE 8 - SmartScreen filter WE (IE 7 phishing filter)

I also IE always start with asset if filter InPrivate IE 8.
(It may temporarily turn off with the little icon to the left of the + bottom
    right of IE)

Two versions of Avast are available 5.x and 4.8 x

Avast - home - free - 5.x stop shields you do not use (except files, Web, network, &)
Shields of behavior) - double click on the icon in the Notification area - real time Orange - click on the
Shield that you want to stop - STOP. To stop the Orange icon to show an error indicator-
Click on the Orange icon - top right - settings - click on the status bar - uncheck shields you
    disabled - click OK
    http://www.avast.com/free-antivirus-download

Avast 4.8 x - home - free - stop shields, you don't need except leaving Standard, Web,.
and the network running. (Double-click the blue icon - look OK. - upper left - Shields details
    Finish those you don't use).
    http://www.avast.com/free-antivirus-download#TAB4

Or use Microsoft Security Essentials - free
    http://www.Microsoft.com/Security_Essentials/

Prevx works well alongside MSE or Avast

Prevx - home - free small, fast, exceptional protection CLOUD, working with other security
programs. It is a single scanner, VERY EFFICIENT, if it finds something come back here
or use Google to see how to remove.
    http://www.prevx.com/   <-->

    PCmag - Prevx - Editor's choice
    http://www.PCMag.com/Article2/0, 2817,2346862,00.asp

Also get Malwarebytes - free - use as scanner only. If you ever think malware and that
would be unusual with Avast and occasional Prevx running with the exception of a low level cookie
(not much), to UPDATE and then run it as a scanner. I have a lot of scanners and they
never find anything of note that I started to use this configuration.
