Any image I open in CS4 has a gray colourcast - why?

I do most of my work of photo image in Lightroom after first improving v 2.6 to 3 and, more recently, 3.3. I can do more work and print using CS4 (extended). A few weeks ago a nikon raw image open in CS4 from Lightroom using the image, more modifications that Lightroom has been very dull had lost its dynamism and looked far worse than the original file of the nave of the camera.

After discussion on the lightroom forum I thought the problem ask an apparent incompatibility between v 3.3 lightroom and CS4 the first having been built for CS5. Following the upgrade initial LR 3.3 v, I have not noticed any problem with the transfer of an image in LR to CS4. But now ANY image from a source of any file opened in CS4 format is terrible. Even an image that has been modified before using the software in the days where everything worked as it should.

I have a MacPro running Snow Leopard 10.6.5, 2xquad processors, graphics cards double and 6 GB of ram enough to which cases I've never known anything other than the high speed operation. Before this problem I used set up for 18 months with different versions of lightroom used for most of the work with CS4 used for work of specialist without problem.

My Lightroom using ACR 5.7. Even if I use NX2 to enhance the image instead of LR, I still get terrible results when transfer this file to CS$ either as a raw file or a TIFF file with the changes made.

Overall selected color space is Adobe RGB 1998.

Does anyone have an idea what went wrong?

Ah, just a chance here - go to the Photoshop color settings, see other options, disable "compensate for scene profiles".

If this changes appearance, then you have a poorly constructed display profile.

Some software was incorrectly marking the display as scene-referred profiles (and they aren't), but I thought that the software was set more than a year ago...

  • Open any image in Photoshop desaturates and it darkens

    Hello!

For about the last 2 months using photoshop CS5 (I've been since purchase in Dec 11 without problems), I'll treat and images in a TIFF file or high-resolution JPEG with a color Adobe RGB 1998 in Lightroom 3 or Capture Pro 7 profile, open in Photoshop with a work area and of proof preview space Adobe RGB 1998 and the image appears darker. I can fix by adding a layer of saturation, (+ 28 Saturday) a 10% of brightness curves layer and a layer of contrast (contrast-15). I then save the image and open it again in bridge or lightroom one, whether or not I have flattened, the image then opens in other programs with the same questions that photoshop has given it, i.e. darker, more varied and less saturation. My solution was to open in bridge, then open in photoshop from here for all my work of editing, and then opened in lightroom and correct color/curves/sat problems. Not a great work around and incredibly tedious! Help!

This of course also affects my images when I opened the high resolution through bridge as dealt with by Capture or Lightroom then use Bridge Image Processor to export as adobe low resolution 1998 - all exit etc darker.

I run the programs on a Macbook Pro 2009 model, vs 10.8.4, and my screen is calibrated regularly.

    Thank you

Looks like you have not used Adobe RGB as the specification of the target for your calibration of the monitor, but rather a custom RGB configuration based on a whitepoint 6500 k or something like that. Could also be a bad profile. In any case, before you spend endless hours trying to hunt ghosts, it would be better reset the settings of your monitor and the factory default color, and then create a new calibration from scratch.

  • Can't see images I open in CS6. OpenGL problem?

I have used to have this problem from time to time with CS5, but do not know why it was only occasionally. I don't see any image format that I open in CS6. The file opens fine - no error message - and then the screen is just blank. This used to be a tool for editing > Preferences > Performance problem, where I would uncheck activate the Open GL drawing and everything has been corrected. But there is no such box in this new version.

I tried: Open > Preferences > performance and changed advanced settings of drawing Mode = normal. But no result.

    Thanks for your help.

There is always a separate drivers for the GPU and GPU.

Go to the GPU manufacturers website and get the latest drivers.  Follow the signs (sometimes you need to uninstall the old drivers first) to install the new driver.  Do not go to Microsoft or system integrator for the pilots (they are generally years behind).

  • AVI opens in CS4 but only Audio in CS5

I've been around several files in CS4 and exported as 720 x 480 files open in CS4, but once I drag the files to the timeline in CS5, I get only audio goes to audio editing.

Here are the 8 GB of files.

No problems with flv files or other AVI files.

    Suggestions please

The culprit is the Cinepak, a dinosaur in numerical terms of video codec. Given that first Pro CS5 is a 64-bit application, it takes the 64-bit codecs and Cinepak being dead for a long time and not available in a 64-bit version, these files do not play as long as - is in CS5.

You have a few choices, yet they will need any transcoding repacking at least the files. You can open it in CS4 (first or SOUL) and transcode them to something else (DV AVI, for example), or you could try QuickTime as your output container format; There's one included with QuickTime Cinepak codec. In theory, you could do a "repackaging" of Cinepak AVI to MOV Cinepak with no recompression; the encoded content is simply copied a file in another, with a different wrapper on this subject. Since QuickTime is 32-bit, and Adobe has written a translator of sorts for QuickTime which allows its use in CS5, you might be able to work with these files again. If SOUL won't give you the option (although I think), you might look Pro of QuickTime or MPEG Streamclip.

  • Opening project CS4 CS5

    Hi guys

    I'm opening a CS4 CS5 project.

At the opening, I get a message saying that it was created in an earlier version of Pr and must be converted. I click OK and get a screen showing all project files and clips with options to "jump" or "ignore all". I tried to open the folders but nothing is there, and he said: 'no items matching your search. I tried to type the project name in the "File name" field the same thing. I click on a clip, but that doesn't matter either, so I click "Ignore all", and when the project opens all the clips have been replaced by an image saying "media offline". According to me, if I right click on each clip I can re-edit but that would take time as there are 75 in the project. Any ideas how I can get this project to work on?

    Kind regards

    Graham

When you open a project CS4 CS5, the conversion will result in a new file name with _1 appended to the name. At the opening of this project, you will need to show PR where the files he heads in the right directory. Once you have done for the first file, it will automatically find the other files in this directory. Since you have now put all files in jumping, I suggest you delete this CS5 project and import back to CS4 and taking little time to direct PR to the appropriate support.

  • How to change where an image is opened?

Recently someone sent me a picture, when I open it it always invites me to choose a place to open the said photo. I always choose the photos app, well I clicked Chrome and now it only gives me a command prompt on the place where to open the images. I do not want to open chrome. It's not anywhere in the settings to change that, and uninstall Skype does not she, what can I do?

This isn't an option in Skype, but a matter of configuration of the Associations of files on your computer. Search your computer any image file with the .jpgfile extension. Right-click on this file and select Open with. Select the appropriate program in the list, or select Choose default program .

  • Microsoft Digital Image Suite anniversary edition Editor has encountered an error.

Original title: XP SP3/Digital Image Suite Anniversary Edition question

I use MS Digital Image Suite Anniversary Edition (DISAE) on a Windows XP SP3 computer.  I get this error when I try to open DISAE:

"Microsoft Digital Image Suite anniversary edition Publisher has encountered an error and needs to close."  The error report was not available.  Reinstallation of Microsoft Digital Image Suite anniversary edition Publisher can reactivate the error report feature. »

I tried to change settings in the start menu > right click on my computer > properties > advanced > Error Reporting > disable, enable (checked everything) does not.
I tried to reinstall DISAE nothing works.  I tried to uninstall, reinstall, AND REINSTALL AGAIN without success.
Has anyone ever got this message of particular error and, if so, what have you done about it; so that the DISAE open reliably EVERY TIME?  Thank you.

Hi Ganesh, thanks for trying.  I tried a different approach.  I used a program uninstaller - Revo Uninstaller - completely uninstall MS DISAE, including all registry entries associated with it could find.  Then I reinstalled DISAE.  This seems to have fixed the problem, so maybe it was a registry entry that program uninstaller left behind.

I still don't know why the EULA appears in Japanese characters... but if the program works, I guess it doesn't matter.
Thank you very much for trying to help me solve the problem, and I'm sorry it took so long to reply to your reply.
