Any way to automatically adjust the 1st line of the text of "raise" for the initials when necessary?

Or maybe a script?

Example:

You have a paragraph that begins with a word starting with a dropcap A. I wish that the first line of "raise" to be closer to the top of the a. really the letter A is the only one who really needs. With the help of Sabon. I realize that each letter is different, but in a book it would save a lot of time if there is a style/script to do this. I use CS6.

Thank you

SL

It should not affect the two lines. Doesn't work for me. Only the first line.

The first line is:

DropCapgracesecondLetter

If set you the kerning between grace and secondLetter, only the

first line is affected. This is the point of adding hair space

(Type > insert white space > space hair)

If you don't add the hair and just go ahead and add negative

kerning between the drop cap and the second letter, then indeed the two lines

are concerned.

  • Automatically adjusts the brightness with the background of the window.

    This is a fairly long description of the question, but I tried to be as complete as possible (this looks like a minor problem but it's very embarrassing in the conditions I work often) I have a laptop Dell Inspiron under Windows 7 Home Premium, and I'm having a problem with the brightness of the screen. I was not able to locate any other positions, even with a similar problem:

    Windows automatically adjusts the brightness of the screen based on the background color of any windows is open. When the toggle between light/dark background brightness will increase or decrease respectively. This is unrelated to all conditions of lightning of the room, and I was able to nail that this occurs only when two conditions are met (but she she 100% reproducible in these conditions) 1. Laptop is running on battery and 2. the screen brightness slider is calibrated for lower brightness about settings up to about 30 to 40%.
    I tried to eliminate all possible variables that I can think of, including the diagnosis via msconfig startup. This automatic brightness adjustment occurs independently of the program or the window involved, but here's an example where I cut everything and simply alternate between the Windows desktop (including the black background value) and Windows Explorer (white background).
    EXAMPLE 1: Desktop (black) came, no agenda. I open Windows Explorer (white) and the brightness fades gradually more light for a period of 5 seconds, tick-tick-tick-tick-tick brighter. I reduce Windows Explorer (dark back) and the brightness fades gradually more dark, tick-tick-tick-tick darker. When working in a darkened room this very annoying constant increase or decrease the brightness. Note that the brightness slider is set to the minimum setting all this time (about 40% of the automatic erasure is more noticeable at the point of annoying, even if it is always present, but 40% is way too bright for a darkened room).
    EXAMPLE 2: I opened two tabs in Google Chrome or Internet Explorer (that happens for two and all the other programs besides), in a tab of the page Web has a dark background (grey/brick/whatever) while the other tab has a light background (white/yellow/whatever). As I switch between tabs brightness will decrease after the passage in the darker background and rise after the transition to the lighter background, tick-tick-tick-tick-tick discoloration with about 5 seconds each time.
    Since this only occurs on battery you need just a simple setting in Power Options, but I don't the do have not yet localized as and option. I would be grateful all the ideas, and I can provide more information if necessary. Two solutions would be acceptable
    (A) brightness remains constant at the level that I put it independently to know if the laptop is plugged in or on battery power.
    (B) brightness adjusts in a single 'jump' when switch between light/dark circles, rather than erasing more than 5 seconds.
    Thanks for your help

    In fact, after a lot of research and work of suggestions other people, I think I found a solution that works on my machine. (I'm saying I think because I shot to the top of a black web page, he gave way to the screen for a while and looked and seems not to reduce intensity, but I'm a little worried that it's just top-down influence and I just wanted to believe that I solved the problem...)

    Here's what I did (on my Toshiba);
    Control Panel > display > adjust the resolution
    Click on 'Advanced settings' (a small blue link in the drop-down "Orientation").
    Click on tab "Intel (R) Graphics and Media Control Panel"
    Graphics properties
    Power > power features
    Click the menu drop-down and select 'on battery '. Under this drop-down menu, there is a checkbox next to "Display Power Saving Technology" that only appears when "on battery" is selected. On my computer, the box has been checked. I've disabled, and who seems to have stopped the display to change the brightness according to the color of the window.
    I hope this works for some other people (and indeed works for me) - this seems to be a very rare but incredibly annoying problem for those of us who got it.
  • Automatically adjust the volume

    Is there a way to have windows 7 automatically adjust the volume during playback of something that soften the strong bits and the quiet bits are turned upward? I thought as an automated thing. I don't think that windows can do on its own, but I can't find a program.

    There is something called "loudness equalization" maybe it's worth a try. Not sure if it will work or not, but it's a quick test.

    • Right click on the speaker near the clock icon.
    • Click 'play' devices.
    • Click on the default device - speakers
    • Click
    • Click [tab improvements]
    • and check the box "loudness equalization.

    Not sure, but if all goes well it may be (a little).

  • I would like to know if there is any way I can remove the 32-bit and keep the 64-bit without harming my computer

    I ran windows 7 installation on my computer using DVD who had 32 and 64-bit data and for that I currently have 32-bit and 64-bit installed in my computer. So I would like to know if there is any way I can remove the 32 bit and keep the 64 bits without harming my computer or stored data because now both bits is eating space on my C drive/partition!

    OT:

    Windows

    Why do you think you have "32-bit and 64-bit" versions of Windows 7 installed?

    If you installed the 64-bit version (which you will need if your computer has more than 4 GB of RAM and you want to use all of this RAM), you can see a few references to 32-bit architecture.  The 64 bit version of Windows needs these files in order to run software that is designed for 32-bit architecture.

    Perhaps the most obvious instance is the presence of the following two directories:

    C:\Program Files and C:\Program Files (x 86).  It is normal for both of these directories present in a 64-bit system.

    I tried with different codes, the framework is installed on the same domain as the site and none of them worked. What can I do it wrong? Thank you.

    <!--

    Function autoResize (id) {}

    var newheight;

    var NewWidth;

    if (document.getElementById) {}

    newHeight = document.getElementById (id). contentWindow.document. body.scrollHeight;

    NewWidth = document.getElementById (id). contentWindow.document. body.scrollWidth;

    }

    document.getElementById (id) .height = (newheight) + 'px';

    My helmet is for some time, as the eye of the terminator, glowing and speakers have not worked since. I need to plug headphones or external speakers. Whenever I try to adjust the volume when it shows just a cross symbol under the sign of the volume, where small squares usually are (see below)

    Is there a way to fix this? Some other similar forums tell me to try to manually move a switch in the audio jack, but I can't seem to find such a change and the thing that seems most like a light switch, does not move.

    Can someone please help?

    Thank you

    Your audio output is stuck in optical mode, this is the red light.

    The solution is to try to insert and remove the plug a dozen times or more in the hopes of convincing making fall out of optical mode and in electric mode.

  • CS2 automatically adjust the height of the content in the table line?

    Hi guys, I use CS2 and I have a table with many pages. I need to be able to have the height adjust automatically the content of the tables. Data are unfortunately not compatible so that some cells have 2 rows of content, others 8.

    • Automatically, adjust to the content is not available.
    • I have tried to adjust the height lines then "table" > "distribution lines", but obviously it's not good that some are too crowded, others too spacious.

    Any suggestion is appreciated.

    I think you're stuck to resize the width manually at this point...

  • automatically adjust the bottom of the page and the footer?

    I have a site of muse with a sheet of master with the crumpled footer to header. In my home page, I have a few photos and text. For some reason when I'm viewing the page in Safari, there are about 5 inches of space between the text and the page footer. How can I get this footer and page down to adapt to what's on the page?

    Thank you

    Without seeing the page, it's hard to say, but the problem is most likely either in the in the settings of your template page. Make sure that the "Sticky Footer" is unchecked and that your minimum page size is adjusted to where you need.

    Perhaps you have an invisible element on the page. Make a Select/all on the page and/or the model and make sure that you don't have any empty page elements, forcing the page to the bottom.

    If none of these fix the question can provide you a link?

  • Automatically adjust the workspaces for different resolutions

    Because my eyesight is not what it was, I'll have to lower the resolution on my iMac 27 inches. I use creative cloud and when I open the bridge, the interface is adapted to the new lower resolution - all windows are in the right place. But when I open Photoshop CC, the default workspace is too large for the screen - left windows are off the screen. I could go back to the higher original resolution and pull all the windows until the middle and redial for the lower resolution, and then save. But is there some sort the workspace can be done for auto adapt to the new lower resolution?

    Hi Mikesmartt,

    Since you are using an iMac, you can actually make the workspace in any resolution size by clicking the expand icon "+" in the very top left of your window (it is a small green button beside her minimize and maximize buttons).

    From your description, I understand that you have lowered the resolution menu bars are being cut off or fall out of the screen as in the screenshot below:

    This can be easily solved by clicking on the button of the screen adjustment on each window. As mentioned above, it is the small green button at the top left of your Photoshop window.

    After clicking this button, you should notice the Photoshop all resizing interface and adapt across your screen resolution:

    As you can see highlighted in the screenshot above, all panels and interfaces can now be seen.

    I hope this helps.
