  Here is a workaround until Apple restores the Select All - deletion in 10 iOS feature:

  3. press to select any email (this will allow the move feature)

I thought it must be something else because Firefox has no problems with other users of the computer, and my original profile worked very well under other computer users when transferred manually. I think something was interfering with Firefox, which is why none of the fixes here worked because they targeted Firefox itself when it seems that it wasn't the problem.
