  This is a phishing attempt. The address is not an address to Apple. You can track the message to Apple as an attachment to [email protected], and then delete the email.

  I have a current apple id and a password that works well.

  When I look at my settings/iTunes and App Store ipad, it shows an old apple ID that I set up for my ipod years ago. I the have not used over the years, it also has an associated e-mail address which has long since disappeared. Also, I have no idea what is the password.   If I understand correctly, you are trying to download music from Apple's music, but you're not able to. Download sits there and never complete. There are a few things that we can try to get the music downloaded on the iPhone. I suggest disconnect you from the iTunes and App Store in iPhone settings. This will remove all downloaded music, you have available offline. You can then re - download when you log in.

  To disconnect your iPhone, follow these steps:

  1. Go to settings > iTunes and App Store.
  2. Enter your Apple ID > Sign Out.
  3. Enter your Apple ID password, then select login.
