  I have a problem which is that I had my stolen email address.  It is used to create Facebook accounts and join other sites in Africa.  I thought that a simple solution to this problem would be to change my email address.  Apple has restrictions on ending in me.com, e-mail addresses if they are used as an Apple ID.  The only way to get rid of the email address is to close my iCloud account.  What this means is that I lose all my music, books and apps that I bought at Apple!  The other solution, they gave me was to create a Gmail account and use my gmail account.  I was shocked that Apple was telling me to go to Google for a solution.  Once I have my gmail account, then I could use my email to Apple as my Apple ID, but not as my email address.   This solution is like hiding my head in the sand.  My email address that has been compromised is still there, but I'm pretending that it isn't?

  I am also very disappointed that Apple is emphasizing the use of an e-mail address simple as main identifier (which can never be changed) given all his claims to take care to protect the safety and privacy of customers.  There must be a way to create an identifier secured without using an email address which is very public and easily hacked.

  If someone has created a safer work around this problem or has identity stolen and so needed to change things like e-mail addresses and Apple ID, I'd love to hear how you managed to solve your problem.
