Apple TV keeps forgetting password wifi

Hi all

I bought a 4th gen Apple TV for my living room, and I it was perfect, no problem. I got another one for another room and I had no end of trouble with it.

It is closer to the router as my other ATV but it keeps down the wifi connection and sometimes it comes randomly "forgets" the wifi password, and I have to enter it again. On one occasion, he refused to accept the password on the attempts of a lot, a lot, so I did a thorough cleaning and a reinstallation of TVOS. It was OK for a couple of uses but has now begun to drop out of school and forget the wifi connection.

When he's not working, it shows 5 bars on the signal strength and my iPad works perfectly on a full, sitting next to signal. It's very, very annoying.

Any suggestions?

Thank you!

Implement the resolution of the basic problems and share the locations of those present of the ATV.  If the problem is a problem in the living room and lounge we work in the room of the problem, return the problem immediately for a replacement unit.  If the problem the appliance becomes very well in its new spot and ideal becomes a problem in the new spot, exclude from the ATV and focus on the network.

  • El Capitan forget password WiFi

I own a MacBook Pro 13 "retina early 2015 3.1 GHz i7 16 GB RAM running El Capitan 10.11.5 (currently the latest version).

The problem is that whenever I re - attach a known WiFi system forgets the password and asks me to re - enter manually.

Here is a more intriguing symptom: the issue is not with * every * known network. Just with those that I joined after initially, I transferred my data on this laptop from my Mac earlier, a MacBook Air mid-2012 Mavericks running. Those that were already stored on my previous mac work seamlessly.

"Networks do not forget that this computer has joined" are checked, and I can verify that the new networks are indeed remembered. Passwords are not well.

I tried a few non-destructive solutions, I found on these forums of discussion, such as checking the permissions of various files/Liberti/Preferences/SystemConfiguration .plist (all are root.wheel 644 and last modified dates of some files are right now, so I know that the system can write to these files) and delete and reset some of the stored WiFi networks. But no solution has worked so far. I'm not ready to delete the completely SystemConfiguration folder and the system of re - create from scratch, because my "WiFi" database now includes more than 100 WiFis that I use from time to time, so I don't want to go to the hassle of re - initialize them all again. I am willing to reset the PRAM or re-install the operating system.

I've read dozens of similar complaints, but none match my specific situation. I suspect a file that somewhere may have incorrect permissions, with these permissions are poorly defined by the migration program, but it's just a theory.

Finally, I used so far each MacOSX version and El Capitan is the first one who behaves in this way.

    By/Liberti/Preferences/SystemConfiguration, I meant/Library/Preferences/SystemConfiguration (automatic correctors, ha!)

  • Why my PC keep forgetting passwords network and lies on the use of the correct connection to the NAS?

My PC Windows 7 has acted weird lately because whenever I login to Windows and try to access my NAS drive or laptop, he asks the user name and password, even though I chose to remember it.

The bit about the lie in question is on the NAS drive.

The NAS drive is an Apple TimeCapsule (shock, I know), but it still works as a NAS device perfect. When I try to open it, it asks username and password as usual, but when I type in it properly, it appears saying that it is incorrect.
The way I managed to get that player is now of type a random fake user and try to connect, for example comments. It says that I can not log in as a guest so I then type the correct user name and password after and it works...

If for any reason any Windows is lying to me about the use of the wrong username and password. Also, I tried it on another PC and it works fine so it only affects this PC.

    Someone at - it solutions?

    Hi themichaelkc,

I suggest you open the credentials manager and see if your saved credentials are correct.

In addition, remove the passwords stored in the vault and re - enter the user name and password for automatic logon.

See the following article for more information on the storage of passwords, certificates, and other credentials for automatic logon:.

  • Apple TV gives up on WiFi association after awhile

    Hello

    I have the following scenario:

    -Apple TV model A1469, Version 7.2.1 (8011)

-' Not always on' Wireless Network (ex, WiFi is turned off during certain periods)

When I start the WiFi network and then Apple TV, it works very well, he associated with the network, no problem.

Then I unplug the network WiFi, but Apple TV on. Apple TV unplug obviously WiFi.

But after some time (it varies between 30 minutes to 6 hours, usually) when I turn the WiFi on once again, Apple TV connects to the WiFi network again. It is as if he has forgotten the network entirely and stays like that forever.

I can recover by power off / turn on the Apple TV or by going to network settings and join the network again. A curious fact: Apple TV don't ask the password this time, then it means that the password is known.

I have excluded from interference WiFi, electronic material nearby, the noise of the power supply, etc. So I need to figure out what to do next, because the Apple TV must be in conference of all time mode and the WiFi network must be down when not in use.

It is a system completely unnatended, conference room users are not allowed to mess with power Apple TV and use the remote control either.

Apple TV should always try to reconnect... why he gave up after a while?

    Thank you.

You say that 'disconnect you the WiFi', but I think you mean that you stop at the router. ATV continuous attempts to connect, but gives up after a while. Having given up, it will not try again unless you interact with him, somehow. I suspect that it was designed for it. It is not surprising that he remembers the network key, because I think it behaves like an iPad or iPhone, saving the SSID and key networks, we saw previously.

You can try to complain to Apple to http://www.apple.com/feedback/appletv.html , but I suspect that this requirement did not appear in the design. After all, ATV was really designed for home use, as attested by the apps 'watch television '. Schools and businesses find them useful, but is not the focus of the primary product.

Why is it necessary to turn off the WiFi?

You can use a wired connection for ATV? Assuming that your router supports wireless clients could still AirPlay on ATV.

I was going to suggest that you turn the room Conference on ATV mode, but it looks like you have to do so already.

It is a bit brutal, but could put you it off ATV (pull on the plug) before turning off WiFi? In this way, ATV never know that WiFi disappears.

In addition, there are other reports of ATV apparently giving up network connections while you sleep, even when WiFi is available. These users will have to do the same thing you get ATV to pay attention to the network again. The funny thing is that this does not affect everyone. There may be an independent ATV adjustment that triggers this behavior. So you might expect a software fix or one of these other threads fly finally a solution. Just search here WiFi and sleep.

  • Stop asking save passwords for NEW sites, still keep filling passwords for sites ALREADY SAVED

So here's my problem. I have a handful of site where I leave FF save/fill in my password and user name information. For these sites, I WANT FF for save and continue to fill my login information. However, I do not want FF to save my credentials for ANY OTHER SITE.

Now while I have my login information stored in FF for these websites, if I disable "Remember passwords for sites" in Security Options, FF continues to fill my login information for these sites (despite the fact that it has always recorded info). Once I re - check this option, FF starts to fill in my password again.

AFAIK, disabling of "do not forget passwords for sites" is the only way to get FF to stop asking me if I want to have save my password, but if I do that it will also stop filling the passwords that I've saved.

So, is there a way either:
    (A) have "Passwords sites Remember" disabled, but that FF inserts passwords I already saved it, or
    (B) have 'passwords to Remember sites"enabled, but STOP asking me to save passwords for all new Web sites?

I want to ONLY FF to register AND fill the passwords that I've saved. I don't want to be prompted to save passwords for all new sites either.

Is this possible? Maybe an add-on or about: config setting I could change?

    Thanks in advance!
