  • Exception ESocketError in module WSHelper.exe at 000F1583. WSACleanup.

    Hello

    I have a laptop (HP) under Windows 7 Home Premium.  Things were working fine until last night when I was at a friend and connected to the network wifi there.   Once I got back and started my laptop, I got the Application error - ESocketError of Exception in the WSHelper.exe module to 000F1583. WSACleanup.

    I can't connect to any wifi network - my wireless connection switch remains off.  The Antivirus I have installed is also disabled, as is the firewall service.

    The problem does not get resolved even after several reboots with different configurations of system services and startup in msconfig.

    How can I get my network cards to work?  Device Manager displays a yellow exclamation points on everything under network.

    Please help me.

    Hello

    The problem could be due to some third-party programs, the origin of the problem. I suggest you perform the clean boot. I suggest you install the clean boot and install the program in compatibility mode. Clean boot helps eliminate conflicts of software that occur when you install a program or an update or when you run a program in Windows. You can also troubleshoot or determine what conflict is causing the problem by performing a clean boot.

    Note: Follow How to reset the computer to start as usual after a clean boot troubleshooting article KB929135 to reset the computer in normal mode.

    I hope this helps. Let us know if you have other problems with Windows in the future.

  • Enry Point on Storm application error

    I spent some time getting my application to work correctly with multiple entry points.  After the articles, I have now a main GUI application and also an autostart module which, among other things, updates the main icon.  I use the technique of the call launch() with some settings special (like "updateIcon") to get the correct behavior. Things work well.

    So I'm now doing a lot of testing in-depth on different platforms and a mysterious error arises.  When the storm running Simulator and the installation of the app the OTA (not just the race to Eclipse) method, I get an error when the installation is complete: "untrapped Exception. Module with handle [6952] and [0] index has no application entry point '. '.  After a reboot, everything works fine, I do not see the error, and the icon is updated in the background, OK.

    It's the offending section:

    UiApplication.getUiApplication () .invokeAndWait (new Runnable() {}
    public void run()

    If I comment the line below, I don't see the error at all.

    HomeScreen.updateIcon(bitmap,0);
    }
    });

    I am currently taking the low road and just trapping the IllegalArgumentException around updateIcon appeal, but I do not like this solution.

    Why this ugly error does not only appear during installation?

    Thank you

    Jim

    I might have found a solution!

    An idea that I had was that the other point of entry that runs at startup (and apparently starts right after installation) could start before the main entry point (0) is installed/related in / ready to go/etc.  I tested it by putting Thread.sleep (1000) as the first thing that the other point of entry, and it seems to work!  I don't know the details under the hood on how these modules get installed or started, but the notion of a race condition critical could explain both what I'm seeing and why its not appear in other platforms and/or any from methods (eg. no problems during the eclipse everything starts up).

    I will test some more and it keep it open for a comments for a few days before marking as resolved.

    Thank you

    Jim

    It happened after trying to install the windows 8.1 update and my computer went to a black screen. It is in this State for a while and I had to go so I stopped it. The next time that I turned it on, the update had already completed and I had windows 8.1. Everything works well except for the error message that appears whenever I turn on my laptop. I have no idea of what he does, but when he arrives, it annoys the hell out of me. If anyone can help I would really appreciate it.

    In the menu is uninstall programs, 3D driveguard program it listed?

    If so you can try to uninstall it, restart, and then reinstall the program.

    The problem is definitely with this driver because what is the accelerometer is to have the program 3D driveguard Park the heads of the hard drive in case of bumping or dropping the laptop low rise.

    Unfortunately, I only got the drivegard 3D or ProtectSmart driver install and work, so I don't know what you need to do to clear this error, since reinstalling the driver did not work.

  • Application error: vmsnap23.exe

    Hello, all.

    This is my first post on this forum, so please be nice!

    Last month, I have an application error that occurs whenever I connect. It seems that the vmsnap23.exe application fails to start, but I don't know what it is (* or * else) so that I can fix it. Any ideas?

    I'm on XP (sp3 since yesterday)

    The event viewer shows this information:

    + Faulting application vmsnap23.exe, version 0.0.0.0, module failed ntdll.dll, version 5.1.2600.5512, address failure 0 x 00011669. +

    I have followed the Microsoft but have not found something useful here. The program is slightly on the C: and not in "program files", or one of the system folders.

    It is a program of Toshiba, part of XP * or * something questionable I can simply delete?

    Thanks for the research.

    See you soon!

    Ken

    Reading a few other forums I found an interesting comment on VMsnap23.exe. Supposedly this process belongs to McAfee VirusScan. McAfee is installed on your laptop?

    Hello Bo.

    It is possible that you have a problem with some Add on Firefox which is an obstacle to the normal behavior of your Firefox. Have you tried to disable all add-ons (just to see) to see if Firefox goes back to normal?

    Whenever you have a problem with Firefox, whatever it is, you must make sure that it is not caused by one (or more) of your installed modules, whether an extension, a theme or a plugin. To do this easily and cleanly, start Firefox in safe mode (remember to select disable all add-ons when you start safe mode). If the problem goes away, you know that it's an add-on. Disable them all in normal mode and allow them one by one until you find the source of the problem. See this article for more information on troubleshooting extensions and theme and this one for plugins.
