• How do the error of debugging JSP page/Javascript on the Blackberry browser on Simulator

  at present, we are porting a web app (html5) from Iphone to Blackberry. It is written in JSP/javascript ajax in the backend. It is usually work the browser Blackberry 6.0 on a simulator. However, one of the page could be made, it shows just a blank page.

  However, I have seen the error on other pages when they are displayed correctly. Not sure why we continue to see this error.

  So, it could be a javascript error as well. Not sure at this stage. The page is written as a JSP page with javascript/ajax inside, which is the same as other pages that work. Very weird.

  No idea how I could debug to this case?

  Starting from the 7.0 you can use the web Inspector and in 5.0 you can debug using our tools, but in 6.0 you're stuck with more traditional methods such as the suggestion of chicoxmlof try/catch or alert statements

• How to install applications on v4.1 Simulator?

  How are supposed to be installed / run on the Simulator v4.1? The only thing I found was something to drop the files in the root installation directory, but place the cod/JAD has no effect (after a reboot).

  Sorry to repeat some of the previous post for clarification.

  You made only need the *.cod file to run the application.  I think that the problem is the definition of the directory "root".  In this case I think that the 'base' would be a more appropriate term.  One to look for will be files *.dmp inside - these being updated every time that the Simulator is running.

  As noted kSkinner simulators can be installed in a number of places depending on how they have been installed.  But if you drop the *.cod file the directory that contains the updated *.dmp files when you run your Simulator, you will be in the right place.  Delete on the *.dmp file and see if they are recreated to confirm this.

• MAF: Applications deployed on iOS Simulator are not visible

  I use Jdeveloper 12.1.3 for the implementation of the MAF on MAC device. I used to use Jdev 11.1.2.4 with Xcode 5.1.1 and jdk 1.6. Now, after the release of the CRG, I uninstalled Jdev 11.1.2.4, jdk 1.6 and installed Jdev 12.1.3 and jdk 1.7. Open examples of good applications that created new application also. But when it is deployed to the iOS Simulator, it gets deployed successfully but in the Simulator, no icons appear for applications. Pointers please.

  Get this job now, it seems I have to unlock device iPhone of the retina (4 inches). However, previously I was using 64-bit one.

  What could be the cause of Thunderbird to set as the favorite in Linux Mint 17.2 browser client. If I reset it to Firefox, the next time I open Thunderbird, it still resets the preferred setting Thunderbird client. When I open Firefox, it pops up a window saying that this isn't the default browser, asking if I want to change. When I click Yes, any link I clicked in Thunderbird previously will now appear in new tabs.

  How can I fix it?

  Linux Mint just put update to Firefox_41.0 + linuxmint2 + rafaela and now Firefox works fine with Linux Mint.

• Application Builder «Browse to LabVIEW.exe» error

  LabVIEW gurus...

  I'm currently building a standalone version of my project.  When I run the application (which is built successfully), LabVIEW makes me search the LabVIEW.exe file.  However, I want this application to run on a computer that will not have installed LabVIEW, and looking up if this file is not an option.

  I know that the reason for this problem is that I use 2 named StrLen and MoveBlock within the library LabVIEW.exe call library functions (to access data from a pointer to a pointer).

  LabVIEW.exe presents itself as one of the dependencies in my project, but I can't understand how to add it to my specifications of generation.  I tried to build a Setup program and include the LabVIEW runtime environment, but this does not work either.

  Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

  I'm using LabVIEW 8.6.

  In the call to the dll just type LabVIEW without any path. This should work (I used it on 7.1) to automagicallylink it.

  The functions are also in the lvrt.dll which is the main part of the runtime engine.

  It is a feature of all Android phones, open apps/pages Web will remain in this list until you turn it off. You can drag any app in the list to remove, but it appears again if you open it again. Or you can get the "clear all" button to remove all applications from the list.

• sample application is running on Simulator, but not on the device

  I created the 'Hello World' example and ran on the Simulator.  It works fine in there.  I used JavaLoader put the cod on my phone.  The icon is on the phone, but when I click it, nothing happens.  What I am doing wrong?

  JavaLoader gave me other errors.  So far, creating a files .alx file and installation with the Office appear to be more successful.  I think I'll use that in the future.

  I use Eclipse Java Plugin 1.1.1 and Java SDK 5.0.14, and I had a terrible time trying to get the browser in the Simulator to connect to the network. After hours of research, here are the solutions that seem to have worked for others, but who do not work for me:

  (1) install and run the MDS Server. I tried to download BlackBerry_Email_MDS_4.1.4.exe, but unfortunately I can not download the darn thing because when I click on the button 'download' after the connection, etc., the center of the page simply becomes empty, and nothing happens. I tried FF, IE and Chrome and on three different computers, so I don't think it's a problem on the client side.

  (2) someone said going to Edit-> preferences in JDE and do something, but I just can't figure out where is the edition-> preferences. It is for the JDE stand-alone version or the version of Eclipse, because in the version of Eclipse is not a tool for editing-> preferences in the Simulator or in one of the places associated with BlackBerry. I tried to download the stand-alone package (I guess it is autonomous in the sense, there is no need of Eclipse), but as with the SDM server, just download what I get is a blank page. Frustrating!

  (3) apparently adding «;» deviceside = true' to the URL works in some situations, but it has not worked for me.

  What I want is just open a web page in the browser and Simulator for the last 3 hours, I was not able to do. Please, help me, I'm at my wit's end.

  Found. Those of you using the Eclipse plugin and having the same problem, the option to start MDS - CS are in the configuration of the project. What to choose, and you're golden.

  I use the BB plugin for Eclipse and have created a few test applications. My 'Office' Simulator now has icons for them and I would like to delete all but one or two. How do I do that? Whenever I have raise the emulator, they are there.

  Go to the folder of Simulator and

  Delete all *.dmp file

  Delete all the files (* .cod, * .debug, * .jar, *.cso, *.csl) related to the applications that you want to remove.

  -from the emulator in debug mode (with the correct settings)

  -deploy the application in the emulator

  -redirect all output to the console for debugging.

  Could someone illustrate how to perform this procedure in my console windows?

  You can deploy an application for the BlackBerry Smartphone Simulator by copying the file of cod to the directory of the Simulator.  The Simulator does not support redirection of its debug output to an arbitrary location, however you can use the tool, JDWP included with JDE BlackBerry and BlackBerry JDE component Package to view this output outside Eclipse or the JDE.
