Application of failure updates/impossible to upgrade to 8.1 Windows

I recently bought a new computer with Windows 8 preinstalled.

I tried to run Windows Update several times.  Each time, Windows Update appears to have executed correctly tells me that it has installed the updates and then quickly displays a screen that informed me of his failure to configure updates and his intention to return to the original state.
I tried to run the Windows Update Troubleshooter.  I did not any changes to the system - it's "new from the box", so to speak.  Therefore, IE is always the default browser, no internal settings have been changed, etc..
After doing some research and reading suggestions, I decided to stop wrong with Windows Update and visit the Windows store to upgrade to 8.1, hoping that this would fix my problem.
When I click on the purple upgrade box in the store, I get a white screen with the green circle... and nothing.  Nothing ever happens.
The computer has rebooted itself several times due to a failure (I'll me wake up in the morning, the PC is off and he informs me that he had to do a reset).
This problem frustrates me no end.
Next steps?

    Hello:

This is what worked for me...

I zipped and tied a tool that hopefully will get windows 10 icon on the taskbar of your PC, as it did for me.

To run it, unzip the file and right-click on the file and select run as administrator.

After reading the disclaimer notice, run the first menu item to confirm your PC has the required updates.

Then run the second menu item, and it is the one that did the trick for me.

Then simply click on the GET W10 icon to get a software booking W10.

A license of Windows 8 (product key) cannot activate Windows 7.

You can download Windows 8.1 manually, and then perform a new installation using your product key of Windows 8.

For 5 years, Microsoft made it fairly easy for users of the Windows 7 operating system to get reinstall media. If you have lost your support disc or installation retail collection; either it has been damaged or defective; You can download a copy of the edition that you have licensed from a membership site called Digital River. More recently, Microsoft ended the availability to reinstall media that you can download as a. File ISO in Digital River, which is a digital reproduction of an optical disc.

It was particularly convenient for people who could not easily get the manufacturer's recovery media, did not want to pay the fees required to get or preferred a clean configuration without the software packaged manufacturers or even a recovery partition does not work. It's easy to use, all you had to do was reinstall and reactivate using the product key located on the certificate of authenticity and download all the drivers on the manufacturers website.

Given that this option is no longer available, what are your options? See the article for more details:

How to: What are my options for Windows 7 reinstall media?

Make sure you scroll down and read the section:

What to do if you cannot get your manufacturer recovery media, refuse to use or to buy it or the Microsoft Software Recovery Website does not work?

Step 2: Perform a custom installation, see Windows 8.1 section of the following article how to perform a custom installation:

  • XP - cannot install updates after the upgrade to Quickbooks 2010

I am running XP Professional.  Since the upgrade to Quickbooks 2010, I can not install three MS updates, and can I update Adobe Reader version 8 to version 9.  The MS updates remaining in my queue are:

1 Microsoft.Net Framework 3.5 Service Pack 1 and the .NET Framework 3.5 Family Update for versions of .NET 2.0 to 3.5 (KB951847)

    2 Microsoft SQL Server 2005 Express Edition SP3 (KB955706)

What can I do to fix these problems

Assuming (by reference to one of the titles of any updates you are 'problems' with) you have Windows XP _ Edition with Service Pack _ 32-bit - here's what I suggest:

Clean and fix the usual suspects

Restart, and then log on as a user with administrative privileges.

Difficulty your file or registry permissions...

Ignore the title and follow the subsection under

You find nothing, you will only find cookies, you may think that it is a

/ don't think you do all that - you add more parts to
the puzzle and all of the picture just may become clearer and your
    problem solved.

Restart, and then log on as an administrative user.

Download/install the latest program Windows installation (for your operating system):

Download the latest version of Windows Update (x 86) agent here:

When is the last time you checked the updates for your motherboard

and the credit card network / device drivers?  You can do now.
The easiest way is to visit the website of your computer manufacturer
If it's something like Dell, HP, Lenovo, gateway, etc.  There, you can
Find the support/downloads/drivers section and look for the drivers
for your computer model.  I suggest you obtain these updates.

Uninstall applications from any third party firewall (ZoneAlarm, etc.)
and use the built-in firewall of Windows only.

Log in as a user with administrative rights and open Internet Explorer
and visit http://windowsupdate.microsoft.com/ and select to make a

Whenever you are about to click on something in these pages - web
first of all, press on and hold down the CTRL key while you click on it.  You can
release the CTRL key after clicking on each time.

Once the scan is complete, select that ONLY updates of high priority
(deselect all others) and install it.

    Reboot again.

If it worked - try the web page - selection not more than 3-5 a
    time.  Reboot as needed.

The optional software updates are generally safe - although I recommend
against the 'Windows Search' one and all of the "Office Live" those or
"Windows Live" which for the moment.  I would like to avoid completely the
    Optional hardware updates.

Seriously - do these things.  It's like antibiotics - do not skip a single
step, don't leave because you think it will be ok now - review
until the end, until you have done all given in the order shown.  If
you have a problem with a step to ask and let someone here, you get
Thanks to this step.  If you do not understand how to bring one back
and ask here on this step and let someone guide you through it.

Then - actually - that everyone here knows if it worked for you - or if
    you have more questions.

  • XP is slow after all service packs and updates. Is there a summary of Windows XP that includes all upgrades and runs FASTER?

I reformatted my Dell 2.4 ghz pc (only 512 MB of ram) to the original state of xp. It was incredibly FAST.  But to run programs, I was forced to upgrade to service pack 2. Service this pack 3.  It is slower than molasses in January in Chicago.  Microsoft has an XP consolidated and updated that includes all the security updates and new features in 1 integrated fast program?

Spin Norton - bought after that it came with the machine.

Ah! Norton applications are notorious for not not upgrade (or uninstalling) itself. This gives a whirlwind:

    1. download the Norton Removal Tool, save it to your desktop: ftp://ftp.symantec.com/public/english_us_canada/removal_tools/Norton_Removal_Tool.exe

    2. close all open applications (that is, anything with an icon on the taskbar).

    3. After completing some you have a copy of your handy product key, uninstall all Norton software (including LiveUpdate and everything Norton Add ons) via Add/Remove Programs.

4 IMPORTANT! -Online activate Windows Firewall immediately after the restart.

NB: Now you're "working without a net": no to ANYTHING else online (e.g., navigation, reading e-mail, chat) until you have completed step #7 below!

    5. double-click on the file that you saved in #1 above to run the utility. DO TAP not your keyboard until the race ends, then restart.

    6. do a clean install of your Norton application, using your product ID & reboot: http://www.symantec.com/norton/support/kb/web_view.jsp?wv_type=public_web&docurl=20080514162318EN

TIP: Do not activate or install additional modules of Norton (for example, Norton Anti-Phishing) immediately.

    7. manually and repeatedly run LiveUpdate until you get a prompt "no update more".

    8 test cycle.

  • Freezing to updates during the upgrade of Windows 10

    Hello

I am having trouble updating to Windows 10 Windows 7

I tried a few times now.

Whenever I leave the update do its thing, it gets stuck on the screen 'Updates - updates'.

I did a little research on Google through forums and found that a lot of people had problems with windows updates.

I installed the tool, fix a couple of times, even if this did not help.

  • Did I lose my games/installed office applications if I update Windows 8 to 8.1 Windows?

-Very well, so I have a laptop that came pre-installed with Windows 8, and I've heard of a'lot of good things about Windows 8.1 but I do not have a hard drive that can store most of my games that I downloaded (my country has no good wifi speeds) so lemme get straight to the point:

World of tanks, 4 Battlefield, Team Fortress 2, etc are deleted after update?

(also, sorry if it is posted in the wrong topic section)

Upgrading the operating system does not mean that none of your
    applications will be removed.

But there is never a guarantee; No matter what you do, there is
always the possibility that something may go wrong and you will lose
