Application server file system permissions

I run my application on Oracle Application Server and at one point that the application must read and others to write some files to remote paths. Still, it fails with the error "access denied." With local path that it works fine, the same error occurs with the network drive mapped. The same exactly app would be fine works of JDeveloper10g (on built-in oc4j that is).
The operating system is Windows XP, JRE 1.5, Application Server 10 g.
Any help is very appreciated!

Hello

If the Application Server HTTP server is started as a service, make sure that it starts with a user account with permission to the network and writing. However, appears not to be a JDeveloper problem and, therefore, the question must be poszed the Forum of OracleAs, not here

  • Image: poster of local disk, download server and display the server file system

    Hello

    I use jdev 11.1.2.4.0...

    The requirement is that users want to upload images to their local drive for the drive on the server and they would like display of server disk images later.

    We do not want to save the images in the database. I'm not sure what should be the solution; However, I intend to...

    1 create a table to keep information from images - image_id, image_location (server drive), image_filename

    2. create a page where users can enter image information and specific file on a local disk name (I think I'll use inputFile component) and provide the Preview button to display an image on the screen before saving. To record data is to save the information in the database and copy an image file on the disk on server (the location for image files is predefined.)

    3. create another page where users can browse the database information and display an image for a selected record getting from the server.

    I need suggestions on...

    1. how to display an image on the page of the local drive?

    2. how to copy a file on a local disk to a server?

    3. how to display an image on the page of the drive on the server?

    Thank you.

    When Timo records the images in the database, you save it in the file system (examples on how to do this Java are available much if you just Google for it). Similar to Timo you then use the tag image to display pictures. The difference is that you can directly add the URL of the database table.

    The advantage of using a database to host images, it's that you're not although dependent on files server structures

  • Can I set up for Dreamweaver credentials to authenticate to a htaccess on the server file system?

    Hi all! I try to keep my site secure all developing. I like the Live View feature in Dreamweaver, but if I put in place a htaccess file on my server, Dreamweaver can't seem to manage authentication. Any thoughts? If this is not possible, what are the best ways to keep access to a secure Web site and restricted all developing?

    You develop on the external server? Most of us develop on our local machines and then download the files (FTP) the published to the external server.

    I don't know what you're trying security restrictions. You try to password protect the external website during development? And you use the htaccess method?

    Normally the LINUX permissions are set to allow anyone to view your Web site but not make any changes to the file. Your FTP user account has permission to make changes to the file. This has nothing to do with htaccess.

  • How to download files from the database file system.

    Hello everyone.

    I m trying to do a procedure to download a PDF file that is stored in the file system of the server of the database and not inside the database. The established procedure is the following:

    create or replace
    PROCEDURE PRT_PR_DOWNLOAD_FICH (v_file_name VARCHAR2
    )

    AS

    V_LENGTH number;
    Lob_loc Bfile;

    BEGIN

    Lob_loc: = bfilename ('DIR_OBJ', v_file_name);
    V_LENGTH: = dbms_lob.getlength (Lob_loc);

    owa_util.mime_header ("application/octet ', False");
    HTP.p ("Content-length: ' |") v_length);
    HTP.p ('Content-Disposition: attachment; filename = "" | ") SUBSTR (v_file_name, INSTR (v_file_name, ' /') + 1) | '"');
    owa_util.http_header_close;
    wpg_docload.download_file (Lob_loc);

    END PRT_PR_DOWNLOAD_FICH;

    This procedure receive the name of the file to download and use the wpg_docload.download_file () function. The DIR_OBJ is a directory with path from the server to the folder that contains the files I want to download.

    When I run this procedure I get the error: "Internal Server Error".

    Can someone tell me what I am doing wrong and if it is the best way to download a file directly from the database server file system?

    Hello Pedro,

    Just out of curiosity, I tried your example ;-) It works very well in my environment! (Oracle 10g with OSH and Apex 3.1.2
    But: I had to grant READ permissions on my directory object to APEX_PUBLIC_USER!

    (1) I created a "test.txt" document in the directory corresponding with my EXPDIR directory object. 'Oracle' user needs read on the file & document permissions!

    (2) give APEX_PUBLIC_USER necessary READ rights on the directory object:

    grant read on the directory expdir to apex_public_user;

    (3) create the procedure:

    CREATE OR REPLACE PROCEDURE MATTHIASH. PRT_PR_DOWNLOAD_FICH (v_file_name VARCHAR2)
    AS
    V_LENGTH number;
    Lob_loc Bfile;
    BEGIN
    Lob_loc: = bfilename ('EXPDIR', v_file_name);
    V_LENGTH: = dbms_lob.getlength (Lob_loc);

    owa_util.mime_header ("application/octet ', False");
    HTP.p ("Content-length: ' |") v_length);
    HTP.p ('Content-Disposition: attachment; filename = "" | ") SUBSTR (v_file_name, INSTR (v_file_name, ' /') + 1) | '"');
    owa_util.http_header_close;
    wpg_docload.download_file (Lob_loc);

    EXCEPTION
    WHILE OTHERS THEN
    HTP.p (substr (dbms_utility.format_error_stack (): dbms_utility.format_error_backtrace (), 1, 4000));
    END PRT_PR_DOWNLOAD_FICH;
    /

    (4) Grant execute rights on APEX_PUBLIC_USER of this procedure:

    GRANT EXECUTE ON MATTHIASH. PRT_PR_DOWNLOAD_FICH TO APEX_PUBLIC_USER;

    (5) Finally, try if download document works well:

    http://: 7777, pls, apex, MATTHIASH. PRT_PR_DOWNLOAD_FICH? v_file_name = test.txt

    I would like to know if it works!

  • webutil read file function finds the file on the application server

    Hello

    I want to select and read a file (possibly .pdf) and save it to the database.

    To achieve this, I:

    1) created a table, deltia (key primary aa, varchar2, blob, other columns... image_blob, filename)

    (2) created a block form of database based on the deltia table. The element of the "image_blob" column type is image

    and the image format is "tiff".

    (3) wrote the following piece of code to perform the selection of local file (successfully)

    Select the FUNCTION (i_FileFiltre IN Varchar2 default vDefFileExt)

    RETURN VARCHAR2

    IS

    vPath Varchar2 (128);

    vFileName Varchar2 (256);

    vFileFiltre Varchar2 (200): = i_FileFiltre;

    Begin

    vPath: = CLIENT_WIN_API_ENVIRONMENT. Get_Temp_Directory;

    vFileName: = WEBUTIL_FILE. FILE_OPEN_DIALOG

    (

    vPath,

    '',

    vFileFiltre,

    "Select the file to download.

    ) ;

    Return vFileName;

    END selection;

    The form above function call is:

    Declare

    vFileName Varchar2 (200);

    Begin

    vFileName: = PKG_File_Ops.Selection;

    If vFileName is not null then

    : eq_deltia_metakinhshs. Filename: = vFileName;

    End if;

    End;

    (4) wrote the piece of code to the game/place the file selected in the form element "image_blob", as following:

    client_image.read_image_file (: eq_deltia_metakinhshs.filename,)

    substr (: eq_deltia_metakinhshs.filename, instr (: eq_deltia_metakinhshs.filename,-1)).

    "eq_deltia_metakinhshs.deltio_image");

    The call to the packaged procedure client_image.read_image_file does not work. It returns error

    "47109 - cannot locate the/u01/oracle/temp /... image file"

    If it is correct, then your webutil.cfg is not been set correctly.  Entries for transfer.appsrv are in reference to the appsrv and not the client.  So you currently C:\temp which is a directory of Windows and not Unix.

    (2) Transfer.appsrv.Read.1 =c:\temp. It is already set.

    3) Transfer.appsrv.Write.1=c:\temp. It is already set.

    EN reports can be found in the file system of the operating system (o/s), but the EMP workspace hierarchy (folders, tree, etc.) are stored in the database of repository Hyperion bi +.

    On the system of operating system files, the reports are stored in RM1 folder under folder "C:\oracle\Middleware\user_projects\epmsystem1\ReportingAnalysis\data\RM1\root".

    The names of the reports placed here are UUID (identifiers of long - not the actual names).

    When a report is created with the name 'My report' in Studio Financial Reporting, by connecting to the EMP workspace will be available in the name of financial reports/folder where it was saved.

    the actual report will be stored in a subfolder of the RM1\root folder on the file system.

    The file name will be a unique identifier (not the real name of the report is 'my report')

    It will be generated 'on the fly' based on various things such as the date and time on the server (i.e. 0000012f5af72b1a-0000-ec71-c0a8006c.00000130510b77bb-0000-5133-c0a8006c.1)

    The meta-data for this report ('My report', that is in the folder in the workspace, the date of the change of the report, permissions on this report, etc) will be stored in the Hyperion bi + DB as an object in an encrypted table. Financial reporting knows what metadata in the Hyperion bi + DB which corresponds to the report, in the file 'RM1\root' because all rows in the table for that object in the Hyperion bi + PB related to 'My report' will be referenced using the UUID of the file (for example 0000012f5af72b1a-0000-ec71-c0a8006c.00000130510b77bb-0000-5133-c0a8006c.1)

    Note: The location of the folder of RM1 differs with each facility's operating system.

  • LCM - artifact of import to the file system without using a source application

    Hi all

    I would like to ask if I can import the objects in the file system in SSP without the source application, I have the source file: XML (which contains the resources folder: configuration, type of plan, artifacts global relational "Data.xml") and record information: registration, sourceinfo.xml) which was taken from an application that no longer exists!

    How could we do?

    Thanks in advance

    Kind regards

    Thank you for your reply, I tried to put the folder under what but I can't see them yet! I also tried tried to put the. XML directly under what files but I still don't see the sub file system

    do I need to restart the server?

    Kind regards

    If you put the files and the folder structure in place then there is no need to restart and it should pick it up, if the structure is incorrect, so he will not pick it up, might be interesting to try an export of test on a different application or a system to get an idea of what files you need.

    See you soon
